iDrives are good until they break being a Modern BMW it will do and tbh even though land rover overall has worse reliability i come across less big horror stories on range rovers and land rovers than BMW's Mainly X3-X5's and 5 series worse i have seen is 1 engine rebuild on a X5 at 60,000 miles and two engine replacements with an X5 and a 550i with the 4.4 V8 both around 2010-2011.Range Rovers Mainly i dealt with are Electrical Gremlins and a couple of Air Suspension replacements Bad but compare to a New Engine ALOT Cheaper.
Fun fact:- most of the commenters criticizing about range rover's reliability never really drove one!😂

I have had two Range Rover Autobiography's over the last five years. The last one I bought new November 2017 brilliant cars.
I have driven in excess of 100,000 miles wthout incident. Anybody that says they are not worth the money has never driven one.

It's distinctive and people talk about it - I suspect BMW are delighted with that. Cars kind of all look the same these days, so a distinguishing feature like the BMW grill (even if it is objectively a bit ugly) is like gold dust.

It's got the look, for sure - the current Range Rover design is mean and sturdy. I always assumed that its extreme squareness comes at quite an aerodynamic/fuel efficiency cost compared to equivalent models such as the X7. But people will pay for it. Suspicion is that the X7 is the superior vehicle in most ways, but I'd be very pleased to own either naturally.

I’m huge fan of both brands but Range Rovers are just timeless, they will always be special. 15 years later, Range Rover will still look good while other similar vehicles will look outdated.

Because it is. It’s a subsidiary of Tata industries which is yes from India. Jaguar and Land Rover are still designed and manufactured in the UK. They do also have manufacturing plants all over the world. Their budgets are controlled by Tata, but they can develop and manufacture within those guidelines in England

I have both cars (wife drives the bmw) and I love them both. The high seat and comfort of the rover is awesome but the bmw is definitely sportier. Overall can’t go wrong with either one.

How? The front looks like a plastic mold had a sticker slapped onto it instead of actually molding the grille and headlights. The interior is extremely poorly designed (made out of spare parts in the workshop) and the tech is outdated.

We had this very dilemma this past week as we are expecting triplets and needed a vehicle to haul the new family around in. We traded in the Range Rover for the BMW X7M50 because the Range cannot accommodate 3 baby seats at the same time. We went with the X7 with second row captain chairs and third row bench. It is ready to actually hold, God forgive me, four child car seats! We will use for our three plus the nanny. Thank you for the wonderful review and help in deciding the best vehicle for us! Cheers!

Man, I moved to India, and although vehicles are hella overpriced out here, the X7 is half the price of the Rangie here. Hence, I’ve already seen a heck lot of these things just two months later.
Yes in india x7 cost 1.20 cr ₹ (164k dollar) and range rover lwb start at 2.5cr ₹ (342k dollar).

Range rover is really nice inside and looks fantastic. I had 2 supercharged before 2010 and 2018 brand new, but let me tell you it's not reliable at all. King of problems and malfunctions. Think twice. I'm driving a bmw X6M now and I'm over the moon.

X7 here,and i can absolutely say with confidence you get more heads to turn on the x7 than the rover. Even tho its a luxury suv,it doesn't turn heads imo. I love the ride. I can drive all day and not get bored.🎉

I had a 2017 Range Rover and absolutely loved it. I decided to try the X7 5.0 and at first was really impressed. After about a month I really started missing the Range Rover. Although the BMW drives great, looks good and is loaded with tech it just doesn't have that special feel of the Range Rover. Three months later I traded the X7 back for a 2020 Range Rover and have never been happier. Had I not owned the Range Rover prior to the X7 I probably would have kept it much longer.

@jack Gilmour-Jones Normal people with good educations can easily afford these vehicles. A medical doctor today easily makes $400K a year no problem. For them a Range Rover is no big deal. You should have done better in school, kid. Then you too would have a great job.

@@xslobeats2955 it can do all of those except for pull a g63 which is due to the weight disadvantage. But in regards to the x5m being a high performance suv it’s the perfect all rounder and beats the g63 hands down
@@santana9537 but it cant to it as easy. And it does not have the same wading depth. There is only the G63 6x6 that beats it in that field. The X5M is probably ok at offroadning. But if I was going on a rocky mountain trip and could choose between the two of them. The Range Rover would be my go to choice

I have a Range Rover Sport 2017 and I love it. Every time I see it puts a smile on my face.No other SUV looks nearly as good. You want to buy a car that goes round corners well just buy a saloon.
I rented that same Range Rover shown in this video for 4 days and I have found that it is exactly as stated in this review: very large and comfy but a little too wobbly, rolling and rocking on twisted roads. It does not feel quite as safe as a BMW on fast corners.
The interiors are not assembled with the same quality of the BMW. Also ergonomics are not as well thought as on BMW or Mercedes of the same class. Still great but not quite as good.
Let's say that if you like a posh car and you do not care much about the driving, the Range Rover is perfect because it makes everything easy and comfortable,. You forget about driving and it will take care of itself, as long as you stay away from spirited driving, of course. But if you want to "feel" the car a little more while driving, the BMW is the way to go.
I have a range rover sport v8 and i disagree, since i ve found the 2020 x5 50i not as quick and agile
coz range rover have to rule in on-road & off-road both while bmw will shit on pants in off-road
@@bsjddjk X5 are not for off road, they are more of a replacement of the hatchbacks which BMW do not sell in the US anymore. Yet on road driving experience of the X5 is way better. If I needed to drive often on dirt roads then I would get a range rover. no doubt about it.
