At first glance it seems ridiculous that the Pharaoh would put Joseph in charge of the entire country. Politically, though, it was a smart move. If anything went wrong, the Pharoah could blame Joseph and look blameless.
This video also _"hinted"_ at Rameses being the pharaoh of Joseph's time. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Senusret II had the dream, the 7 years of plenty, and started building a canal system in Egypt _(late middle Kingdom, middle of Bronze age)._ He died and his son, Senusret III had the 7 years of famine, and finished the canal system. *_And most importantly,_* it was Senusret III that changed the nomarch system. _(Also what they didn't tell in this video was; Egypt pre-Senusret III was a feudal system. The nomarchs _*_owned_*_ their nomes. The farmers were serfs, working the land for the nomarchs.)_ So, Joseph sold grain to the nomarchs, not the farmers. That was the how, of how Senusret III could actual do such a change, and have the warlords of Egypt _(nomarchs),_ just sit by, and not revolt. _(Also, Senusret III had a cult following, was considered a demi-god, within his own life-time. Very few pharaohs had that. Senusret III had to have saved Egypt _*_big-time,_*_ to get that status.)_ Then all you need to do is count the years that Israel was in Egypt, and you have your Exodus pharaoh... and that can only be Amenhotep II. Otherwise, neither the chronology before, nor after, comes even close to matching up. And just to kill off anyone saying that the Hyksos were the Israelites: The Hyksos conquered Egypt, by having something new, that *none* of the middle east had at that time, *chariots.* Who were the only peoples to have chariots at the time of the Hyksos? People of the Eurasian steppe, no one else. Are there any tribes, especially tribes consisting of only a warrior class, having left or been forced out of the Eurasian steppe around that time? Yes, the Cimmerians. The Scythians pushed them out of the steppe and into Anatolia, but then the last information that we have of the Cimmerians, is in the area just east by north-east of modern day Damascus.
I've read all of the theories you have presented also, I know the Hyksos weren't the Jewish population, my Egyptian friends also set the same, ( they weren't). They and I know the chariot came their by the Hyksos, who came from the Eurasian steppe. We're all forgetting that the further we go back BCE the more wishy-washy dating becomes especially for the Pharaohs. @@thundersnow8648 No, I did not mean you, when referring to someone saying the Hyksos were the Pharaohs of the Exodus. Only that _"some people"_ try to throw them in. The math doesn't work out. Can you please explain the difference between Dr. Roll version of too much water when Josephus said there was no water. The famine was in Caanan as well, I don't think the Nile had much to do with that. Just wondering how we are going to clean up this controversy.
The last of the 14th dynasty kings is called Yakub Har which is similar to Jacob. Could this be Joseph? At the end of the 14th dynasty also was a long period of famine and possibly plague. Is this the seven lean years. I think this fits more to the time of Joseph rather than that of Moses. After the famine was the seven years of plenty where the Hyksos ie Israelites prosper. I find David Rohl’s theory a bit far fetched. People forget about the timing mentioned in the Bible 1 Kings 6:1 which gives a clear date of the exodus. That places the exodus in the new kingdom circa mid 1500 BC. Why cherry pick the Bible rather than use the Bible as your source.
True he was not first born so he would not die during the angel if death and his successor was not his first born son he was not even suppose to become Pharaoh.
Do you speak Arabic so you would understand them? Did you watch this video, which has an Egyptian man translating the hieroglyphs at the end? Did you know that, 200 years ago, there was no one in Egypt or Africa who could read ancient Egyptian writing? Europeans came and worked for many years to translate the ancient language. So any time an Egyptian is speaking about ancient Egypt, you should ask where are the Europeans who taught him everything.
The Israelites in Egyptian history those who were written in were written under Egyptian names. Also those who descendants from Shemetic & Abrahamic lines were Identified as The Hyksos or shepherd kings.

Also there is a Papyrus of Iperwa, a contemporary of the exodus plagues who eye witnessed the account (Patterns Of Evidence shows this account in their 1st doc). Of course it's dismissed by mainstream academia as not referring to God's judgment on Egypt, etc... How Hatshepsut's image is defaced (being Moses' Egyptian mom) because of "causing" Egypts grief by rescuing Moses from the water. They wouldn't want any embarrassing records of failure, and modern academia helps the hide it too (so to speak). Dr Petrovich who Tim interviews shows how Joseph's son takes his place in rulership. -There's a great deal of info out there.
Unfortunately, theses Egyptologists, have no experience with other specialties. Such as sedimentology. The taking ov various types of sediments can show what was occurring in the weather for every year, wether it be a strata of sediment such as a layer if Gypsum or plant polen that can indicate what was growing in a particular year. These studies have been done and do show that during the first intermediate period, there was major climate change affecting Egypt. Quran lake sediments show that a substantial layer of gypsum. Occurred and core samples from the delta indicate a series of droughts, one that lasted between 5-10 years based upon drought resistant plant pollen. The time reference for this evidence is in the 1900’s BCE. So any comparisons to the New Kingdom timeline is outright incorrect.
I wonder why don’t you take 1 kings 6:1 seriously. That gives a precise date for the exodus. You can’t be cherry picking on the Old Testament if you believe in them. That’s just trying to justify your own theory. 1466 or if you use the lunar year is the date of the exodus and that’s during the reign of Thutmoses iii. If you’re indeed Christian and Jews and you take your scriptures seriously that’s the starting point. Then you see which major events coincide with the scripture. Not twisting the scriptures to justify your own theory.
This verse is one of the main supports of that view, yes. A problem with it is Ex 1 says they built cities which werent built until much later, so the early of 1400s has to cherry pick 1 king over ex 1. Then theres the factor of early date kings ruling far to the south in Thebes and late date kings ruling in Raamses which also fits. So its not about twisting anything, but instead looking at the data and trying to figure out which fits best
how familiar with the rest of Dr Rohl's work are you? i agree wth your offered year but you assume that the standard egyptian chronology is correct when you say Thutmose III was the releant Pharaoh. Rohl argues convincingly IMO that the standard chronology is not correct and one of the errors it is based on it taking all kings listed in the manetho king list as reigning singly and consecutively. This stretches the chronology WAY TOO LONG. A father and son co regency (ther ewere many of these) would shorten the time span, as would a split country with dynasties ruling concurrently in different parts of it I invite you to look into Rohl's reasons for his theories and his offered evidence before accusing him of twisting scripture

How can you spend your time and effort on something like this and not read the Bible for yourself? The famine was shortened to 2 years with the arrival of Joseph’s father Jacob. Any five year old in chader can tell you that.
Genesis 45:11 says Jacob moved to Egypt in the second year and there were 5 years left of the famine.
