The hardware and the precision installation is impeccable. The hardware cost must be high. Lumbar and hardware may be 300 I'm guessing. But for such outstanding workmanship, all worth it! Outstanding.
All materials, including the screw drivers and cleaning rod, as well as the plaque, felt, hardware, hardwoods and finish materials comes out to be a little over $400.
@@kennethpaulwoodworking6404 When you said the case can cost more than the firearm, i thought wow, amazing, and master craftsman. I'm a disabled veteran. Love the finer details in the woodworking I do.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Great looking rifle box for the Henry. Where do you buy the screwdrivers you use for the box. Are they hollow ground or standard tips. I like the look of them being polished and finished Rick Brown
Hello, the screwdrivers I used are a brand called chestnut and the company is in Canada, I found them online, I have not purchased from them for quite a while, so I do not know if they are still in business. And yes they are hollow ground. If I remember correctly there were 4 or 5 drivers to a set and they come with a burnishing rod. Ken
Because felt is a non woven material it can be stretched and pulled in all directions, you just keep pulling it taught while smoothing it out with your thumb or a piece of wood and when you have it where you want staple it from the bottom to lock it in place. Try it on a practice piece, you will be surprised at how tight a corner you can make. Ken.
Hello, I get my brusso lid supports from Woodcraft Supply and sometimes from EBay. Brusso has two sizes of lid supports,I use the 1/4” wide for pistol cases and the 3/8” wide for rifle cases.Ken
Hello, I purchased the screwdriver set online, it was a Canadian company, I believe the name was chestnut. You can just google wooden handled screwdriver set.Ken.
Great job. Curious what hot glue you use? I’ve never found any hot glue that doesn’t fail in short order. Certainly nothing I’d consider reliable enough for a job of this quality.
You did a beautiful job making this case.
A true peace of craftsmanship, beautiful work.. my next project in spring. Thank you for posting.
Thank you, and I hope your project goes well. Ken.

How do you wrap the blocks in felt without getting bunched creases?
