71. Narrowboat Living - Overcoming Narrowboat Mooring Issues.

- Mooring our 68ft Narrowboat isn't always easy. Did we turn around or take a different route at Fazeley Junction?
Liz takes control at Fazeley while Paul is left holding the ropes. Narrowboat Mooring seems to be causing a bit of concern as we search for a spot, will Ernie make the jump from the bank?
We Visit Drayton Bassett Nature Reserve and turn the boat at Curdworth Locks before heading back on the Coventry Canal to Alvecote Marina for 2 nights while we visit family.
Once back out on the cut, Paul attempts to catch a very hungry Pike, talks about coping with cold weather on a narrowboat in winter as Spring finally arrives.
I fake it till I make it with some new exterior treats for the boat.

You could see the look on Ernies face saying "That was right down my lughole ya plonker" I think you blew about a thousand of Ernies brain cells then Paul lol. Yup you were lucky this winter was mild compared to others, it's a great learning curve though. Jesus Paul more layers than an onion there haha. Paul I swear i saw that Pike sticking two fingers or fins up to you! It's gonna be a lovely summer me thinks and it's on it's way hopefully. Ha ha that Pike was definitely having a laugh at Paul's expense there 🤣 That was pretty much the entire contents of Paul's wardrobe in that part of the video when he was taking all the layers off 🤣 a mild winter but a bloody wet one. Hopefully spring and summer will bring dryer tow paths and happy cruising days. 😃

Yes on Google maps it says gravel pit. I couldn't find the name of it though it only stated cliff lakes which I believe, looking at it now, is a little further towards curdworth locks. So I'm glad you told me it's Kingsbury Water Park. 😃

I have never paid for a premium as I aint giving up my $$ to the YT company. I subscribe to so many channels and then click on the bell and then click ALL.. so my email goes off to some of my channels that I watch... so I open up that link to YT... then I go click on the 3 lines on the left of my desktop computer then scroll down to click on Subscriptions and then all that I subscribe to comes up... so then I go thru them all and decide on which ones that I want to watch. Naturally your channel is my go to straight away 🙂 It is all FREE to watch... with me watching & commenting that helps you out. But some people who are not so great on the computer side can get confused on how it all works.. So we just gotta be patient with them and try to help them understand how it works... and I think you did great explaining it... that person needs to chat to maybe a friend or even someone in a computer shop to explain it to them. 🙂.*

I watched your latest movie while chilling in my unheated shed in central Ontario during a blizzard on the second day of spring. 30 degrees fahrenheit and raging wind gusts. But I was unafraid, because I imagined I was in some beautiful canal cruise in the dreaded land of England. As a Scot by disposition and ancestry, I feel it incumbent upon myself to slag England, it runs in the family. Love your shows, I'm a dog father too.. @@uponreflection

im at an age that doesnt know lots about computers can you please explain what the big thing about subscribeing is ? i already pay 12 odd a mouth for premium ? so what else do i get for subscribing ?
When you subscribe to a channel you will find us easier when looking and videos that we release will show up when you go on to youtube so you don't miss any. The more people that subscribe to our channel the more youtube will show our videos to others and that's how our channel will get seen more. It doesn't cost anything, it's not patreon or membership...we choose not to do that. But I know that channels that do offer paid membership then you get additional benefits like early releases etc. Hope that helps explain it a little better. 😉 😀
@@uponreflection so im paying 12 a month for nothing ? i dont understand the point to be honest ? i see loads of channels moaning about extra licence fees but onlanders have been hit hard as well utilitys over doubled this month even though not in house as in hospice now was over 300 this month surely you moved on canals for better life not for others to pay for it ? im having to pay 1800 a week to be in hospice to die ? no ones paying for it apart from me
We don't ask for any money that's why we don't do patreons or membership because we don't want people paying to watch us. Your TH-cam premium doesnt come to us. I think it gives you advert free doesn't it? I'm not sure if I'm honest I don't have youtube premium. I watch you tube without the premium payments when I watch videos I think I get adverts and premium doesn't. But again that isn't us that charge that, that is youtube. We pay for ourselves on this boat and wouldn't ever ask people for money
@@uponreflection just saying every channel asks for subscribing and to like seems pointless to me but your still earning from you tube most be a reason for everyone to like subscribe nothing for watching did you need to start the channel for a living ? so many people struggling to pay bills but you tubers earning and not paying tax im retired still paying taxs bills and now hospice on top to die i dont get a break why do you tuber feel that they should get paid its you choice to film people most need money so much to sell themselfs to google its very sad when others are struggling i have a hadicapt child that lives in aus with his mother wont even be able to leave him a pound with hospice costs and you tubers earnning money and dodging tax disscustting worked for 55 plus years for nowt still being taxed
Subscribing is the wrong wording really, they should have used 'follow' that's all it means. I do totally understand what you mean. We don't do youtube as a way to make money, I (liz) really enjoy making the videos and enjoying communicating with people on here. If we don't have followers on our videos (subscribers), then youtube don't recommend them, that's all..and although that may seem a little thing, I spend a fair amount of time capturing, editing, uploading the weekly videos, which i love, but Id be quite disheartened if no one watched them. Myself and Paul have worked hard all our life and never have or will expect anyone to pay for anything. TH-cam earn money from adverts that they place in our videos. They pay us a mere percentage of that ad revenue which is very low but does help us keep the chanel going. Again, this isn't paid for or asked for from us and certainpy isnt above taxable thresholds. We pay our own way in life and create videos for people to enjoy Freely 😀
