Your channel has become my #3 narrow boating channel...as told earlier...you have got to be the most glamorous and beautiful host of a narrow boating and condo's to your mate being behind the cam is just as important..in my years of vanning in usa,..I dressed in some nicer fashion just because it's nice to look good in everyday living ... guess you Britain's call it caravanning.. would love to come to England and do both...vanning & narrow boating...cheers

(More of a duo 1st place thing)..Then you"Princess of Shiraz ... 4th is Cruising the cut..Then.. ending with a new one - "chugging along" . All have my total attention...alert set to highest waiting for more settings...lol. 🏞☕ all of you show a lifestyle that is easy to understand and rewarding reachable in realistic terms...

That’s the swing bridge at bourne end Hemel Hempstead, i used to go fishing down there when I was a lot younger and when I got older a few pints in the pub very nice little place, my mother was also born in the village
I was going to say same wish my lady would dress up like going clubbing to do locks hahaha and sorry but I never stand and watch my lady struggle with hard paddles been a boater all my life built our own and by the way lovely accent stay safe 😀

You can obtain a windlass with a 2 to 1 gear reduction which makes lock paddles much easier to open

Thanks for the video, but what size is your widebeam, and which canal system or systems do you travel ? We currently live in California but are heading to England in the spring, (May 22), retired and looking to buy a Widebeam. (Traveling on the QE2 to gain some boating experience :-) Born in Gloucester, we will perhaps make that system and it’s connections our base, but are soaking up any info you and others give, though you and your partner appear to be the best fit for our lifestyle.

@@catherinefinn1427 Are you leaving the system, or going back to a narrow boat ? If the former your personality will be missed, you have a way of ‘letting people in’.... but if it’s private.... we have lots of questions but to ask just one. What about noise on the canal system ? The Piano Boat for instance would be our worst nightmare. We prefer the sounds of nature to anything else and don’t want to listen to people’s radios etc. Would we move on ? But what if we’ve purchased a permanent mooring are we stuck ? Noise is one of the reasons for leaving where we live presently. Once at the very edge of the city, with only (High) desert grouse and coyotes for company, its now all around us. And your boat is beautiful, you really took care of it and a great layout, but just too soon for us. We won’t be leaving the USA until May, (second sailing, hopefully, of QE2) and that’s providing Isabelle, our 14/15 yr old border collie hangs in there.
Hi Glevum, like you said the beauty of being a Continuous Cruiser is that you can move if the area gets too noisy. Hope all is well in the USA.

Yes, I'm a Master on the tidal Thames .. I can't recommend enough taking an RYA inland boat handling course, loads of tips and tricks, which will save you a fortune in the long run on bowthruster repairs . .. i love watching vlogs of the tranquil canal boaters... total opposite from my day to day ... great channel .. but you must get that man of yours at the helm sometimes :)
Whose Cat were you strangling at the Swing-Bridge?? ....... Seeing you struggle winding the paddles at the lock ...... Do you watch #NarrowboatGirl ?? .... She started a couple of years ago - (When she was really dinky :-) ...... and to watch HER struggle was painful .... but she always managed them somehow .... What a little Grafter?? .....

I made a career that involved legal responsibility for the health and safety of workers. I have also crewed a 50 Tonne 69.5ft x 12.5 ft widebeam on the Thames Kingston Upon Thames to Oxford, the K & A Pewsey to Bristol and the Grand Union Canal from Stoke Bruerne (Lock 14 to Brentford Lock 103) and on to Kingston Upon Thames and I know what is safe and what is not.
The dress and boots are totally inappropriate attire for the tasks involve.
