    I know that Meetra's hair is inconsistent. Some artists draw her as a blonde and some draw her as a brunette. Sorry for any confusion.
    Anyway, this will likely be my final Kreia video, but likely not the last Star Wars video.

      As amazing as the others. Sad to see Kreia go but I figured the recorded lines would run out eventually. I showed these to my roommate who doesn’t really even like Star Wars and now she wants to play through both kotor games.
      Seriously cool stuff, can’t wait to see what else you have in store.

      @@NoksUndKutten I'd agree with you if it wasn't Star Wars lmao. Over the top evil and heros rising to stop them is a really core concept of SW. Malak was no more ridiculous with his evil than Palpatine cackling away like a glorious madman, just more of a blunt instrument of destruction.
      To me, KOTOR 1 is much better at capturing that classic SW adventure experience and feel of the universe and is just paced really well. KOTOR 2 is much more interesting philosophically and in its concepts and has a totally different atmosphere of just utter bleakness and brokenness. I love them both equally in different ways. Despite basically being the same game mechanically they're very different.

    • @Yoruyo.
      @Yoruyo. 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@NoksUndKutten That was the intention - the true villain was Saul Karath, the Rebublic defector, who showed absolutely no pity or remorse for his actions. He wasn't stupid evil like Malak, he knew EXACTLY what he was doing, and why.
      To add to this, Malak was also intended to come across as stupid evil because of the chip on his shoulder - Revan always having been greater than him in every way, even before and during the Mandalorian wars.
      I think it provides a perfect contrast for the story. If you follow the dark side, you once again crush him like you did before and definitively prove that you are the true dark lord, a conquerer of the Galaxy, not simply its destroyer. And if you follow the light side, you prove EVERYONE wrong - that you did not succumb to everyone's premonitions of "Revan the evil dark lord" and again, show that Malak (who makes mistake after mistake after mistake) was always woefully out of his depth.
      Sorry for the long post, I just really love these two games!

    Kreia, to me, is the greatest character in all of Star Wars. She is literally the only one who learned the truth about the force, that as long as it exists, the war between the light and the dark will never end and countless lives will continue to be lost until all life is consumed by it. She fought to try and break the cycle and very nearly succeeded with the exile. Her only mistake was giving the exile her life before her work could be completed. She says that nothing is impossible with the force, but I think she would also agree that anything is possible without it. Rest in peace Kreia, your teachings are not forgotten.

      To me she is the most tragic character. While she questioned the ways of the Jedi and then the ways of the Sith, she was never able to stop for a moment and questioning herself. She was so much focused on the outside, that she was incapable of looking inside herself. Thus she failed to escape the one teaching, every Sith and every Jedi hear and most of them believe in: that the force has a will and that there is a light and a dark side, which it wants to stay in balance. No one ever brought evidence to that theory, yet many in both orders justify their actions with it, saying that their way of understanding the force is th right one. It is not the force, which creates the conflicts, but the idelogies of Sith and Jedi. That is why nothing would have changed, if she would have been succesfull in killing the force.
      It may have even gotten worse. For the force being the center of the ideologies in both orders, it restricted who could join them and so their numbers were always rather small, i guess somewhat like some ten thousands on both side, against trillions or more of non-force users. Without the force there ideologies would concentrate on other aspects of there teachings like extreme individualism of the Sith against extreme self-sacrificing of the Jedi. Both would reach out to many ears and so there numbers would increase in a critical way, making the following wars even more catastrophic than those we already have seen. And because ideologies can not die, the conflict would continue as long as both sides are willing to sacrifice lifes instead of accepting, that they both are partially right and wrong and that they understood only so little. This realization alone could bring an end, causing them to discussing their viewpoints, instead of fighting over it.

      @@atruenobody6189 I'm not sure if there's proof of the Force having a will but there are definitely indications of it with the history repeating itself, and it for sure is an existing supernatural force in Star Wars. Wouldn't you think that by stripping the Force from everyone the Jedi and Sith would (die or) become mundane ideologies without the power to enforce their will on people without this innate "gift" of the Force? Sure, the Jedi and the Sith are much more interesting than the Force by itself but I don't see how they could more than disgraced religions without it.
      Also, your solution requires people relating to people who disagree with them, so that's by far more unrealistic than anything Kreia was aiming for :p

    Kreia learned all that there is to learn of the Jedi and realized their ways were deeply flawed, as a Sith she did the same only to realize the same. Only when her connection to the Force was severed did she truly see. She saw the Force for what it truly was. She saw how everything was determined and everyone in the Galaxy were mere slaves to the Will of the Force... If Kreia would have succeeded the Force would be crippled and the galaxy would have been free. With her death the cycle continued and galaxy continued to suffer as the battle between light and dark went on...

      Kreia the first force nihilist. She was the first jedi who feel hatred towards the siths and jedi for their arrogance and naivness. She was the first who was deeply shocked that something as "good" as the force could control you. In this case force is equal to the fate, and for some - it means that there is no free will. How something like force can entact thousands of years of suffering, becouse 2 orders took a war - and the galaxy bruned. Is is not mercy. It is no higher will. It is a joke. A lie. And without force - galaxy could be finally free.

      One thing I've never understood is how could the Exile lead to the death of the Force? Yes, she was a Wound in the Force. But would killing her really kill the Force? Or does she have to be killed in a very specific manner i.e. in Malachor V where she, the planet itself, and Darth Nihilus all ended up becoming Wounds? Does that shared connection somehow factor in? Because she did end up dying in that disappointing Revan novel, but the Force is still well and alive. What am I missing?

    Kreia is the only character in Star Wars I think came the closest to fully understanding the universe she lived in. It borders on a 4th wall break at times. Seems somewhat fitting that the one person who really "got it" was killed and essentially forgotten afterwards in galactic history. The force willed it so. And her lessons were never truly learned.

      I agree. Kreia has some of the best understanding of the Force, but is extremely nihilistic (get it?) due to her past trauma. She’s correct in that the Force can create chaos, but ignores the many benefits. It’s not good or evil, it’s nature. It’s like blowing up an apartment building, just because some or most of the inhabitants are bad people.
      I suppose the benefit of Kreia’s philosophy is that it’s nuanced, by being biased and even flawed.

    • @Ben-Ken
      @Ben-Ken 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@jjedits488 nihilistic. LOL. Kreia is definitely well written. I can imagine her being played by someone like Dame Diana Rigg, Olenna Tyrell of Game of Thrones.
      The only way to stop most conflict is to banish ego and greed, but without those things, what would be the impetus for a society to advance in technology and self defense in case of invasion by an outside aggressor such as the Vong.

    • @mdd4296
      @mdd4296 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      She doesnt give a damn when those conflicts stay within sentient beings. "I would kill the galaxy to preserve you"- to Exile. It's the Force's sway over conflicts and sentient life that she hate. And it's pure hate, Kreia didnt justify her action with any greater good. The "... when countless lives are lost" line show you the extent of the Force's influence, not her sentiment over loss of lives. And at the end it's all about "... and that is what pleases me"
      The value of Kreia philosophy is an interesting question. I would say it's misused rather than being inherently right or wrong. She vehemently attack the man-made philosophical base of the world until she rage against the natural world itself. So it went from something that could be beneficial into something hateful and destructive. Not like this hasnt happened before... Which is ironic, considering the usual subject of her criticism: the rigid adherence to a single belief among jedi and sith.

      @Alex_006 Plenty of successful lifeforms live without loving, and they will very probably survive us all.
      The point of life in this universe, life as we know it right now and its patterns, is just to stall and reverse the process of entropy.
      Why, you may ask. Well I have no idea.
      Well, it's a common trait shared by anything living we know. Not a single entity on this planet strives for entropy.

    • @mdd4296
      @mdd4296 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not a Sith teaching, you need to look at the whole quote and the context "The apparentice must kill the master. If you do not, I shall kill you. If I do not then all you have achieved would have been as nothing, as empty and violent as Malachor itself".
      All of this happened about 2000 year before Bane was even born. This is not a rule Kreia want to establish, she just described what she wanted. Keep in mind her intention was never to ensure the survival of the Sith, but for the Exile, a Jedi who is the living proof of her teaching to defeat and bury her Triumvirate.
      So she will force the Exile's hand by directly threatening her life. And if the Exile refuse then all that the Exile has done so far would be meaningless for she will kill the Force afterwards.

    • @dreadrath
      @dreadrath 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not even close. Sith thrive on power, no Sith would EVER want to kill The Force since that would essentially be killing the very heart of the power they love so much. Likewise the Jedi who serve the force would never want to kill it because without it they are nothing, and gray Jedi are essentially just do-nothing layabouts with no real purpose, so Kreia is not a gray jedi either. Yet al 3, Sith, Jedi, Gray Jedi, depend on the force more than most. Some might argue Kreia is more noble than any Jedi for wanting to free the galaxy from the force. Others would argue she's a million times more evil than any Sith for the same reason, as killing the force would effectively kill 99.999999% of life in the universe.
      Kreia was a bitter idealist who picked an unwinnable fight with a universal entity for the purpose, misguided or not, to save a doomed universe from repeating the same cycle over millennia for the sake of maintaining said entity's "Balance". Her little war was lost before it even began regardless since I'm pretty sure The Force can't be killed. Given all the different ways people view the force, like saying its a benevolent god that loves all and only has their best interests in mind, or if its just using the cycles of conflict to keep itself stable in some screwed up way, the will of the force could be just about anything, and what it is may not be what the Jedi and Sith want to believe it is.
      Personally I think the force hates dark siders since they use the force to hurt life and since the force is woven through all life, dark side force users are essentially, albeit inadvertently, using the force to hurt the force for the sake of serving themselves, thus the jedi are like the antidote that cleanse the dark side disease, and in the cleansing, the rest of the galaxy gets swept up in the conflict. Yet most Sith and Dark Jedi were once Jedi who served the force by denying themselves only to "Fall" and end up using the force to serve themselves. Perhaps the universe having no knowledge of The Force or how to use it is a better solution than killing it, it might work IF the force really is a benevolent entity. BUT if the force really does thrive on the cycles of conflict, then maybe it really should be killed, if that's even possible. Either way, the Star Wars universe is doomed.
