I feel like there’s a lot of waste? However, I’ve often wondered how you would get perfect squares that are consistent with something that is round. And I guess there’s really no other way. Really really great job.
My beef is she just went in one direction with the peeler and she puts her finger on the spine of the knife. She gets 10 points for the Victorinox chef knife though for practicality all in all 8 out of 10.
Thanks for your comment - in all honesty it is tricky to hold things perfectly when recording. Sometimes you have to be sitting or standing at a very weird angle. 😂
You keep saying, "use your knuckles as a guide," but in fact, you don't use your knuckles as a guide at all. The side of the knife never touches your knuckles.
You’re right! I made this video when I was inexperienced with filming. I knew there were a few issues in it but my channel was so small I published it anyway. I never expected it to get this many views😅
Thank you! I was so scared to dice them, but they turned out great thanks to your help :)
My pleasure, I’m so happy to hear that!

Yeah, unfortunately that’s what happens when dicing something round. But you can always use the scraps in other things! :)
Nice skills and informatics video and Ur style very sophisticated ❤❤❤❤ I like it so much
Thanks!
Thanks, very helpful!
You're welcome!

i’m in culinary school and we were not shown to peel both ways. 😂
I’ve been noticing this ran into quite a few people that do culinary arts that aren’t being taught that.
Yeah holding the knife like that can be very bad for the tendons in the wrist/arm.
I've seen a professional chef teaching to hold the spine with your thumb
Its easier if you cut closer to the heel.
Thank you, I lost 34% of my carrot, when I was trying to rotate my orange vegetable to make it square.
Yes, it does end up with scraps but you can always use those in other ways! :)

O no
Thanks, Ginger!
What's the best way to use up the extra bits?
Turn into broth
Yes, using them for stock is great; I also like to stir fry them with onions!
Make a puree
There's no need to have any extra bits. You can dice the whole carrot after it's peeled, no need to cut off the sides like that.
Thank you
My pleasure!
Finger top on the knife 🔪 is absolutely wrong while cutting any vegetables
cool ^_^
As a 15 years old who want to learn cutting vegetable because i feel that i'm the worst wife ever
Waiste of carrot
You’re holding the knife wrong! Got so much slack in school for that bad habit!
Too slow.
