Pomegranates actually have rough sections, in a star shape. If you look on the bottom you can sometimes see where to cut--if you cut them in the right spots, it's pretty easy to pull out whole chunks of seeds at a time
important note about the prickly pear, the one he sliced in this video already had the spikes removed, if you find one growing you need to remove them yourself (you can find methods online) and DO NOT touch it before you have, even if it doesn't look like there are spikes where you're grabbing there are incredibly small ones covering the entire thing in addition to the big ones that you can see, use tongs instead if you find one in a store it probably has the spikes removed already
I found this out the hard way the first time I harvested them. My favorite method so far has been to harvest them with tongs, burn off the quills, then wash, peel, scoop out the seeds, and eat. It's a hassle, but the store-bought ones taste terrible in comparison, lol.
I could literally go in there and gun down everyone in the audience and it still wouldn’t make a difference, considering they were all dead to begin with

I so much needed this vid. I retired to tropical Mexico and the variety of fruits that I’ve never encountered before is staggering. Just finding out what they are is amazing. But seeing how to process them is like icing on the cake.
Here's a better way: Cut pomegranate in half and fill a bowl with water. Use your hands to remove every seed (it's actually super easy). The seeds sink, but the white film stuff will float, so ya just gotta skim off the top layer from the water, strain it, and yeah.
lyliiz i’ve never heard of that method for pomegranate. what i always do is take a paring knife, and cut down at an angle around the flower at the top to get that top stem part out, and from there it’s pretty easy to pull it apart into four sections of the fruit. it’s a little time consuming and messy to eat but i’ve always found it pretty rewarding in the end lol
David Munir it’s a real video about how to cut pomegranates. I’m not trying to be like one of those lame boys I swear. It’s a family channel I think and it’s like a minute long and it shows how to cut a pomegranate.
And that's not even the best way... You almost never touch the seeds with knife after step 1. Step 1: Cut the top off the pomegranate. Step 2: You see compartments (like a star). Score along the lines (vertically) top to bottom Step 3: Pry the slices open and start removing the seeds using your hands (fingers)

The second way is to cut in half and submerge the half in a large bowl of water. Then, while submerged, you work out the seeds with your hands, the seeds sink and the pith floats to the top. Skim off the pith and you have already rinsed pomegranate seeds! Bonus, no pomegranate juice or seeds flying everywhere like the whacking method. This was how I was taught in culinary school, but he’s right, both methods work.
TooMuchWillPower theres nothing wrong with their grammar, just their spelling, which mocks how you speak, so clearly they have some sort of an accent or they were being informal (it is a comment section afterall) so please grow up. thats not how ocd works at all, you sixth grader.
I tasted rambutan for the first time a few months ago its awesome! Also theres another way to cut pineapple. You cut the end and grab it by the leaves, slice the skin off but not too profound, then slice diagonally around it to remove the eyes and slice in horizontal cuts. It makes nice 'stars' to eat.
I am here to comment, ok? Your such a toxic individual that has no place in society so u spend ur days on TH-cam correcting people’s grammar under fruit cutting videos.
@@samrichardson2641 Sir, I do not think that were their intentions. I should not be getting involved but I just wanted to say that, maybe the person did not want too offend anyone and was just politely pointing it out.
Technically the title is correct! Lol with this knowledge you can cut every fruit. You don't need a demonstration of *every fruit* if fruit is made of of groups of similar fruits. If you learn to cut one fruit, you can translate that knowledge to any and all similar fruits. If you know how to cut oranges and grapefruit, you pretty much know how to cut every citrus fruit. If you know how to cut a melon and a squash, you can cut any melon or any squash. It says " *How to* cut every fruit. " not " *We cut* every fruit." Lol I'm not being pedantic lol I'm just kidding. There were actually a few I was curious about that didn't show up, and a few I've never seen before. I've never seen inside a durian, and I've only known dragon fruit as a voltfruit in Zelda Botw lmao (Omg fruit has no meaning anymore. If I think or type "fruit one more time! .... AHHH FRRUUUIIIT! what did this man put in my drink. why can’t i stop watching how to cut every fruit
“I’m gonna show you 2 ways to open a pomegranate” *shows only one way*
They probably *CUT* the second way out ;D
Duda Helena lmao
The second way is to cut in half and submerge the half in a large bowl of water. Then, while submerged, you work out the seeds with your hands, the seeds sink and the pith floats to the top. Skim off the pith and you have already rinsed pomegranate seeds! Bonus, no pomegranate juice or seeds flying everywhere like the whacking method. This was how I was taught in culinary school, but he’s right, both methods work.
@Ichigo UzumakiPlease fix your grammar, if you please would. No offense, it just gets onto my (OCD)
TooMuchWillPower theres nothing wrong with their grammar, just their spelling, which mocks how you speak, so clearly they have some sort of an accent or they were being informal (it is a comment section afterall) so please grow up. thats not how ocd works at all, you sixth grader.
the audience reactions are so creepy- like what nightmare made the noise at 10:00??
Omg it really sounds like a horse demon
It's sounds funny
What you dont like hehehehehehehaheha
It sounds like a horse!
Since when is avocado a fruit
the audience voice sounds like they’re being forced to be there
Clorox Bleach exactly
I see you everywhere-
Yeah, I thought the synthetic audience was satyrically hilarious!! Pretty sure it was recorded to intentionally sound inauthentic.
Fernando Andres Soto Coello it is America
If you speeded up will sound more funny
I tasted rambutan for the first time a few months ago its awesome! Also theres another way to cut pineapple. You cut the end and grab it by the leaves, slice the skin off but not too profound, then slice diagonally around it to remove the eyes and slice in horizontal cuts. It makes nice 'stars' to eat.
Me: An apple
The chef: This is an apple
Me: Thank you for confirming
It's because he didn't know they would add "apple" in the editing process so he said it aloud.
@@m1- it is obvious

This is one of videos that I will never actually use but still enjoy watching for some reason
Why does the audience sounds like our class when the teacher is forcing us to read something 😂
🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
This is too accurate😂😂😂

Kwenella HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR
Kwenella idk
That mango was the driest I've ever seen. The ones we have are so dripping with mango juices just one slice makes my hand wet.
YESSSS
It’s the same with that peach, that peach looked like it paid a visit to sham-wow HQ
I think it was a green type of Mango they cut of which usually are dry the yellow ones are the juicy ones
Yeah lol wtf i can't eat them much cause they cause a flood of sticky juice
PERVERT!!!!!!!😡
Chef: Imma show you two ways to cut a pomegranate.
Editor: No your not.
Taylor Creekmore hey buddy, it’s you’re not your... :D
@@joshuaz8185 but he didn't
Carlos Flores yea he did. In the editor portion, “No your not” is not proper grammar. It is You’re, not your.
Thank you Epicurious, thank you chef Frank. This was very informative
the editing makes this feel like a unironic adult swim skit
“How to cut every fruit”

"We didn't cut every fruit here today..."
WHAT DOES THAT TITLE SAY FRANK?
Technically the title is correct! Lol with this knowledge you can cut every fruit. You don't need a demonstration of *every fruit* if fruit is made of of groups of similar fruits. If you learn to cut one fruit, you can translate that knowledge to any and all similar fruits. If you know how to cut oranges and grapefruit, you pretty much know how to cut every citrus fruit. If you know how to cut a melon and a squash, you can cut any melon or any squash.
It says " *How to* cut every fruit. " not " *We cut* every fruit." Lol
I'm not being pedantic lol I'm just kidding. There were actually a few I was curious about that didn't show up, and a few I've never seen before. I've never seen inside a durian, and I've only known dragon fruit as a voltfruit in Zelda Botw lmao
(Omg fruit has no meaning anymore. If I think or type "fruit one more time! .... AHHH FRRUUUIIIT! FROOT. FREWT. GAH. I broke my brain!)
danteelite its a joke my guy
