None of the other corps absolutely not really care. DCI is nothing but politics there's no way you can win 21 years in a row it's mathematically impossible nobody is that good ... When it's too good to be true you're damn well straight there's corruption and leniency involved
I'll admit I'm not generally a BD fan but this year these kids deserved the W. They started hot out of the gate and never looked back. Love the opener writing, wish they did more stuff like that.
I don't know if I've ever felt more like the target audience for a DCI show than I did for The Cut-Outs, but I'm not complaining! The level of talent performing my favorite anime of all time. The commitment to detail in visual design of the props, snares, bass heads, drum wraps, uniforms -- all of it is stunning.
I watch this almost twice a week. This is what DCI is all about. The loudness, how fun it looks, and how the performance is one of a kind. I don't think you can get this anywhere else. As a person who wants to audition for the Blue Devils, this show is one of the reasons why. I've met most of the corp since I went to a camp sponsored by them. They're all super nice. P.S. I'm a drummer. being in the Blue Devil's drumline would be my dream.
As a bass drummer in my hs marching band, I can speak from experience when I say that these kids are on another level of amazing. My school could never pull off splits that good.
Dude the art of the screamer died when microphones were put on the end of the horns, I was a Cadets soprano, and I had the strongest chops, and EVEN in 05 and 06, we played a double G I think twice the whole show, even Blue Devils in 06 had like 3 Gs and a double A. The days of the double C died with that dude from blue devils 04, can't remember his name, he was the double C GOD! these kids hardly popping out Fs and Gs on microphones! And there is sooooooooo much going on you can't even pay attention to anything 😢 I miss blue devils 04, Cadets and cavies 2000, THE CAVIES 2000-2006!, Even Cadets 11 was pretty good with angels and demons, now the kids are still freaks of nature on their respected instruments, but Corp now compared to corps when us OGs marched, totally different intensities. You can't play as Loud as Carolina crown in 2009, or Cadets 07, or even Cadets ending in 05, and no screamer did it ever any better than Madison 96, cavies 03 (the double Ab to the Double Db! Loud as a MFCKR!) Yeah and even blue devils 2000-2006 screamers, and blue devils early 90s screamers. When you talk shows or anybody talks legendary shows, they are all pre 2015, and that's just an "is what it is" situation........
Blue Devils are all about entertainment and performance. That's what make them standout from all others. They are very strategic about incorporating specific details that explain their concept. the designers and staff know how to get the best out of their athletes. they spend the last 2wks just cleaning and perfecting their craft when others are rewriting their show. They make the hard stuff look so easy because they have fun doing it

Matisse was a master of using color to evoke mood. A branding device that had once been consigned to sports teams and the St. Patrick’s Day parade became our dominant means of nonverbal communication. The colors light your fuse. The performers and the props define them.
This show is what made me love the Blue Devils. That Ballad especially- Joni Mitchell’s ‘Both Sides Now’ already makes me cry but these guys just elevate it to a new level of majesty.

Blue Devils..🔥 1981..my high school flag corps instructor was a former Blue Devil. Our first year as a brand new flag corps and in state competition and we won awards. She made the hard work fun. I’m not surprised this band continues to produce outstanding people and shows.
I love watching the alternates in these victory runs! They’re always cheering on the corps and then when they came in on the last chord that’s just cool to me! It’s the final show of the 2023 Blue Devils and they’re echoing in the 2024 Blue Devils as they’ll be on the field next season!
Every season, i don’t really like any of blue devils shows, but after the season ends, they grow on me a lot lmao. Also, Michael is one of the best drummers I’ve witnessed live
That would be because they use way too much intellectual effect in their shows that the average show enjoyer is not capable of understanding leading to random shows that dont make sense unless you research them which if you ask me takes away the point of seeing a show
I've been to a few BD rehearsals in recent seasons. I think many people here would be surprised about how much they want to cater to the audience. The staff always has the audience as a central focus of everything they do. While they don't always want the audience to feel "happy" (or some other mushy feeling associated with standing o's and major chords), they do want the audience to feel something. Making the audience experience emotions isn't alway just making them jump to their feet. Simply in awe is enough for me.
Every time I watch this vid it encapsulates the best parts of every instrument perfectly: Percussion: A loose cannon that's just energetic as hell, looks like they're going absolutely crazy, but honestly could do a lot crazier if they really tried. Guitar: Long flowing locks, just kinda chilled out in the foreground, but pulling some crazy riffs Contra: Conservative shy type who chill out in the background, but still rocks the show when operating the rhythm Trumpet: Always the life of the party, occasionally do jazz runs, but goes absolutely insane when given a solo, and rivals the Guitar's levels of ballsy Euphonium: The true worth of the instrument is not its weight but its hoist Mellophone: If you don’t love, love, LOVE the dark, round sound of the mello, your soul is as black as the plumes on the Crossmen’s shako Front Ensemble: I love how you can tell they are just loving every second of this 😈💙✨🏆✂️
I’m a battalion fan (only because our highschool marching band drum major marched and is marching battalion) but this is fucking amazing I loved this show.
Wow, never seen anything like this. The stamina, the breath, to do all that and still play an effing instrument that takes excellent breath control and capacity to play. You can see on their faces, the pride that comes from a LOT of hard work paying off. Watching this was like taking a deep breath. Feels good. Well done.
not only did they play music from jojo but they ALSO played my high school’s music from my senior year. The entire show was called “Both Sides Now” watching that made my jaw absolutely hit the floor

No corps gets to claim such a sweeping statement, especially in the many years when the second highest score is a mere point below or less, which is often the case. I am a hardcore bluecoats fan, but the one thing i like about the blue devils, is that their shows are always packed with energy throughout the entire performance.
What a production. From the performers to the design staff, it’s as though the adults have entered the room when they take the field. And they do it every year. I have a somewhat difficult time with DCI of the last ten years or so, but I was thoroughly entertained by this production. It was deep, well thought out, and expertly performed in all captions. I loved it. Congratulations Blue Devils!

Like I’ve always been Stuck on phantom regiments show and I was like “how did this not get first place.” But the smiles and the fun they all had and the talent they all had was incredible. I truly love both phantom regiment and blue devils. They’re so equally good. In my opinion phantom regiment and blue devils tied for first place. Their shows were so good.
