Personally, I think the Blue Devils are trash. Their woodwinds just aren’t loud enough. (In advance.... I love the Blue Devils for the love of god just take a joke)

"Make sure you march your dot"
BD: "What's a dot?"
A dot is a spot on the field specific to you and everyone has one. So like in the big pyramid at the beginning, everyone had a specific spot (your dot) to make that form.
Daniel Hall he knew what it was lol
Lol haha

Cool Story Bro uhm for this season they had about 25 trumpets, but for the trumpet feature the mellophones played trumpet
Javier is one of the BEST soloist I've ever heard!!!
ActionResource mellophones sometimes plays trumpet like the trumpet feature. yes they are 44 people playing trumpet at the same time but not 44 true trumpet players, they also mellophones
The brass is playing too loud I can hardly hear the flute solo
dude i couldnt even see the clarinets in the sea of brass
Fuck that shit recorder is practically nonexistent here, they need to play louder than tubas

Love them or hate them, you have to admit their execution is second to none and that's what has kept them in the top 3 for decades.
it's not their execution. what's kept them in the top is their extraordinary musicianship.

This was a culmination of many months of hard work dedication, and the members were just seizing the moment. I realize some were screaming with joy but until you have experienced this you should not comment on encore performance being a world champion. Many members will not be back next year, this moment will be forever in their minds. I have never seen a better performance by any Drum Corps to match this. (and I'm a big SCV fan)

I always shudder to see 100,000 worth of trumpets set on the ground all over...
It gives me anxiety because I feel like one is going to be stepped on. Happened to one of my friends his trumpet was stepped on this year before we played for a football game
could have done with out the screaming people in the background
Jacob Ferrera i laughed my ass hearing it lol
Audio source seems to be from someone in the stands or staff using an iPhone w/ a mic. sucks!
First of all - I loved this and really appreciate BD offering it to us. However, I do agree. There was a single guy (a tech?) obviously near the recording spot that screamed and "yelped" over and over the entire recording. At some point stfu lol
If you think this was bad, there was a livestream on facebook for the encore performance, and there was one girl in particular who was hi-pitched screaming and the top of her lungs throughout the entire thing. Like calm your tits lady, jesus.
Can you be grateful
Focus of the camera
50% colour guard
25%trumpet head cams
10%entire band
10%everything else
5% crowd
So, they have the ability to capture close-ups and have cams mounted on certain musicians. In my estimation all of that close-up stuff takes away from the real impact which for me is wide shots.

Shari Brown probably the most I've seen a guard member featured
That's Brian. He was color guard co captain. It was both of the captains age out year, and their sixth year in the Blue Devils color guard. Two of the most incredible performers I've ever met.

Why wouldn't we be real about that
The unbridled emotion is rare from this understated corps. Normally they don't let it fly like this. A buoyant show, brimming with passion and balls out release. Perfect for a 60 year retrospective. The understructure of the butterfly taking flight is all they needed, thematically. From the larvae to the winged victory, incredibly emotional and joyous.
🤨
Nice description
Jesu Spectre this was the victory run. Meaning they won and now are doing an encore and don’t have to be as serious about it.
@@myawilkerson4082 Honey, I'm talking about the production, not this performance. The entire production is geared toward looking back-- a buoyant, celebratory retrospective with an unprecedented, exposed, screeching trumpet soloist that goes on and on and on into the stratosphere. A triumphant transformation into a butterfly, and an impossible transformation for a 501c3 organization. Ebullient and effervescent.
Jesu Spectre can you translate your sentence into english please and thank you
Man I wish we had BD360 when I marched BD. The production value is incredible. Love using the body cams and incorporating them. This victory run was even louder than the Finals run. Loudest thing I have ever heard. Thanks kids from us Alumni!
Jacob Franklin when did you age out

What’s the name of the college?
Daniah Colomathi ?????
Ok going to take the bait. Saying Crown is the best horn line in the world is ludicrous. Copy and paste content and style each year for Crown. Do they do what they do well? Yes. But BD every year changes style and substance year in and year out, wildly. And in this one show, BD changes from classical, to jazz, etc. Which is so hard to do.
Plus, BD doesn't back up singers. We lost brass by 0.1 because we didn't have half of a show that was simple background music backing up a vocalist.
BD has way more Jim Ott Awards, and has 18 World Championships compared to Crowns 1.
Just sayin'. We at BD get so tired of winning, carrying all of our rings, and dating off all of these World Championship trophies.
And people say marching band's not a sport.
Final Jedi Trombones are part of "marching band", but those stupid rules keep destroying this activity from the inside out.
What an excellent experience! Thank you for this ultra-real-world experience. I haven't been to a live show in two years so it really made me feel like I was there!

I see what you mean now...
MOS3 right? Haha
Of course they go to a trumpet cam for the fucking tenor solo great job. 👏👏👏
John Reinhardt DCI is full of idiots that cut away from tenor solos so they can show the trumpets and guard prance around. Pisses me off.
I think you guys are forgetting how hard trumpet parts are... the horn/brass line in general don't have it any easier. And as one who is experienced in both (quite explicitly trumpet and snare playing) I don't find the camera choice to be poor. It's a matter of preference so perhaps calling them a bunch of rigged cheaters is a bit harsh for a camera choice. Please do my get me into the i&e solos argument. Whatever you have to say I agree with for that
The audio was to show the enthusiasm the corps members had. The audio came from gopro's and one mic in the stands. It was meant to show the emotion the corps had when performing everything they've known for the whole summer up to august. I think it really shows how much of a relationship the corps has with themselves and how much devotion that they have to the sport.
Truly amazing. The kids look like they are having so much fun. (Honestly, who wouldn't have fun performing that beast of a show). Congrats Devils!

May i know why there is two Bd members wearing uniform but not performing(?) they are outside the field 8:07 . Great video btw! Congrats BD!!!
I saw on another forum they were alternates
ohhhh like substitute? as what?
Yeah, in case someone drops out from injury etc...
proudlySONE9 an alternate is if (someone correct me if I'm wrong) they missed two practices in a row, they are ineligible to perform. So they can still play their music on the sidelines but they cannot march.
Fluff Fluff nah that’s too much of a liability for the corps, money-wise and score-wise. They work really hard behind the scenes to learn every part in case someone gets injured.
12:10 to the end is like a jet taking off ... music is motion!
Ever since I was a kid I have been a huge blue devils fan, I remember watching videos of Brandon Olander at age 12, dreaming to grow up to be a prodigy like him, i practiced my tail off and succeeded. This is the show that made me started to play trumpet (even though I play a tuba in my band). Before I wrote this comment I was like hopeless to play the trumpet because I suck at it, but every time I watch this show it always encouraged me to learn the trumpet more and more. This show always made me got goosebumps and eventough I watched it like 5 times a day, I still get that feel. This show means a lot to me. Thankyou BlueDevils for the best show that made me love marching band and the trumpet.
This performance is the reason I want to learn trumpet. I found it earlier today and have already watched it at least eight times and a ton of other BD videos. I play clarinet, but this video makes me more motivated than anything else on this planet.
This production is about transformation, from the beginning stages to a butterfly. You're making your own.
