As always THANK YOU for watching, In every video I answer every one of your dog training questions so don't forget to leave your dog training questions in the comments below!
You are excellent with animals! But from watching your videos your real secret is your skill with people is just as good. Watching Tom praise the dog owners OR random team members or construction crew members is what really sets him apart! The NBD members videos show so much more interaction with both the owners and the dogs and it is REALLY cool to see people's self confidence go up as he praises them for progress....most people are good at one or the other being excellent at both sets you apart. I really respect your attention to the entirety of your craft Tom! Thanks!
I agree!
Wow, thanks Nate.
Too bad we can super like comments. Nate you nailed it perfectly with this comment!
Absolutely my dog trainer actually took philosophy for this reason. She reminds me of a female him!
Very few youtube channels go out of their way to truly educate their audience with passion and empathy towards others. You deserve at the very minimum a gold play button from all the hard work and dedication you give to dogs, dog owners, and viewers.
Thank you for all you do !
Wow, thank you
I love the willingness for the lady to really learn. She was open minded and really put her part into it. She learned quickly!! Way to go!
I feel like this guy is giving me life lessons as well as training this dog ..
😊😊
This made my day, a nice lady and a dog, getting professional advice and know how to improve their daily life.
Happy it did!
Dog training=10% dog 90% human. Time and time again. Thanks again Mr. Davis!
Queenie is so willing, she and her owner should do well with practice. Your breakdowns of step by step are so helpful! Thank you for the video Tom!
Yes, very sweet team!
If you are needing a little extra help join his No Bad Dogs Army. I was a member for several months and it REALLY helped me. Thanks for the excellent content
The woman is very nice too💕 I hope she’ll keep training her dog🍀
I love seeing owners so willing to learn!
Same! Thanks for watching!
Fantastic video, this lady clearly had no clue about handling dogs and you explained it perfectly, now she can enjoy her walks!
She does now!
It's amazing to see the dog's transformation! The woman needed your guidance and help as well, she seemed to accept it well and already showed significant changes in her body language and handling her dog. What you're doing is so beautiful Tom!
Dude your goals of educating dog owners is so focused. The amount of free, quality content from you is so transparent and I hope it brings you much success. I, for one have certainly picked up the leash and e-collar. But my name is also Tom Davis and I may be a little vain 😆
Your training has helped me understand my dogs to an extent I never thought possible, you've inspired me to become a dog trainer! I've found my passion in life!
It really is, never the Dog ! This lady should do well...Queeny is a sweetheart !!
Yep!
9:18 when Tom says, "It is pretty" is my favorite!!!!!! (not really, the whole message is my favorite but that just was great)
So many behaviors of my pug/shitzu mix have changed just since popping her leash on a slip leash. She now comes in the backyard while barking at someone!!! Mind blowing! She also went from being timid meeting other dogs to sniffing their bottoms instead of noses and starts to play with them! She also greets people instead of jumping back or hiding behind me. She also no longer pulls on walks but still does when over excited like going into a pet store or walking downtown where lots of dog smells are. I’m going to get the 2.25 prong collar. The bigger one never fit her right. I can’t believe she’s the same dog!
Nice way to introduce obedience training with quick results for both dog and owner. They will both gain confidence that they can be happy and successful together.
Thanks, Katherine
Always well explained. You gave them both the confidence they needed. Awesome as always!
Thanks for watching!
I like how heel is taught at minute 4:55.
CONGRATS TO 500K!!!! Such a gift to the responsible dog owners community!!

Thanks so much, Melinda!
Love your 3 fur babies on the wall! I recognize those 3!
Your videos have completely flipped my relationship with my dog. I was having a hard time trying to train him and teach him how to be a confident dog. These videos have given me the tools to start creating that relationship with him that I’ve been dreaming of since I adopted him. Thank you so much for all of the stuff you do for the dog owners community
Congratz on the well deserved 500k subs ❤
Aye! Thanks so much!
I'm in love with your channel, just got a pup and these methods are amazing!
So happy it helps!
Well u gonna looove the nbd members club
Tom, I would like to once again thank you big time for sharing your talent with the world. It's absolutely entertaining, beautifully shot and full of useful knowledge. Makes me happy watching you grown so much over the years. The academy looks so cool. What's interesting, during trainings you often refer to raising kids and I am a midwife and I refer to training dogs while teaching parents. Newborns and youngsters are so alike dogs in many ways- very instinctual, so much in need of boundaries and confident guidance. I love the fact that different professions can relay on similar experiences and insights. We share the same amount respect for our proteges and I believe it is foundation in what we do. Probably that's what attracts me the most in your videos. Best of luck to you and keep up the good work for people on the other side of the globe hungry of what you do. Lot's of love!
❤️ 🎉Can't wait to see the full length of this one in the NBD Members Club!! 🎉❤️
yass!
Tom, big fan of yours, greetings from Poland
So good for a dog owner relationship
Thanks for watching, Mary!
I'm training my dog to be a service dog. She is a 9mo husky mix. Before she used to have the instinct to rip my arm off on walks and pull me everywhere. I started using the slip leash and techniques in this video and its helped a lot. I definitely still have to work on my training mechanisms in order to really catch the behavior, but so far everything is looking good! Hopefully in a couple months my dog will have a good general heel and recall. Thank you so much for the videos!!!
I love you! You’re the best with dealing with dogs and their owners. I love your videos!
Woohoo, love the videos, I’m learning so much and can’t wait to put it into use. Really appreciate another video featuring a husky
Thanks for watching!
I have huskies! Great dogs 🐕
yeah, I visit a Siberian Husky and Lab/Husky/shepherd mix a couple times a month so I find these videos really informative. When I do go to visit these doggos, i try and make the most of my time and teach them important commands that will help them be better pets. I don’t have any dogs of my own, but I do hope to get one in the future, possibly a husky, but I’m leaning toward a pitbull terrier type. Huskies are great, they’re just like any other working breed, you have to give them a “job” or else they’ll go nuts. And like any other dog, they want to make their owner happy
I love your videos. I am about to take everything from this video and practice with Loki in our back yard. Need to work on our healing and pulling.
I really like the videos with never trained before dog. You look so cool and really interested in saying what hou already said so many times to other dog owners. Really professional!
That dog is looking at Tom and thinking, ‘finally someone who is in charge and understands me’
Excellent Tom , hot dog top dog, well done and thanks .
What a sweet queen. I love that she’s comfortable showing her belly.
Another great video! 👏 This pup looks like a sweetheart 🖤 I have the same treat pouch Tom! I LOVE it 😁
I’m from upstate New York , I just got a new cane corso I would love for you too meet her !!!!
You are such a wonderful trainer! The way you educate about prongs and E collars is very much needed here in Germany, the law decided that BOTH are illegal and I really feel like it limits my training 😞

Love watching you work!
😊 Thanks!
Hey Tom you should make a discord server for dog owners to help each other and to get notifications for your new videos.

Dude, thanks!
You’re my biggest inspiration Tom !
Thanks so much!
Nailed it yet again! Good job Queenie!
Yez!
I've not gotten a dog yet... I have been waiting and watching tons of video's. I now also work at a Dog daycare to see if I could be with dogs and deal with them well enough. I went from wanting a Pitbull, to wanting a German Spitz. (Larger Pomeranian) Your video's give soo many tips and the like!
Hope this helps!
So thankful for your TH-cam channel. You have a helped me tremendously with my lab/porti mix puppy to be able to start off his life with structure, routine and purpose. Your such an amazing communicator and great animal behaviorist!
500K Subs!🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Well deserved, Tom!
Thanks, Julia!
Congratulations on 500K! Well deserved‼️

so ssweet!
Thanks for all the guidance 😊
You've got the patience of a saint 😁
That's my job :)
Great video! Congratulations on 500K!
This video was extremely helpful. Thank you so much 😊
What tools would you suggest for a dog that is afraid of going outside, pulls heavily back to the house and will not stay on one side of you? I've taught him Sit, Lay stay so he can learn but he gets into stuff all the time/chews on stuff (boredom) and is seemingly afraid of outside. The dog is a Mini Blue (Terrier/blue healer mix ~20 lbs ish)
Wow 🤩. Great video. I never thought of it like that. Great vacation analogy!
Great video again 👏
5000 k congratulations adorable puppy
Thanks!
Class vid Tom! This lady really expanded her knowledge and skills in a short period of time
How sweet is Queenie!
Great video. My dog pulls like crazy on walks. I like the way the prong collar helps with that. Do you leave the prong collar on all the time or just on walks?
Just walks, it;s just for training
Great video great show
Thanks, Peter
Thanks for the video. Love it
Love! Would love to know more about how the right size prong is determined for your dogs..
Love this video!
Thanks so much!
there’s constructive criticism and criticism. just as there’s constructive pressure and pressure.
I want that short, smaller gauge slip lead!!!
thanks
Excellent video 😊
Love love these vids!.♥️👍
I have a 10 week old GSD pup. At what age should I be teaching him to heel ?
Isn't capturing when a behaviour is "captured" by the trainer and then marked, either operantly or classicaly? So say you've loaded Yes or a clicker and the dog walks over a "place" the trainer can capture the behaviour by marking with YES, "Place" or click "Place".
Capturing can mean many things, capturing is that lightbulb moment, ding either the dog gets it or I mark it.
Amazing
Thanks for watching!
Question if anyone can help. I have a 7 month old Aussie. Been working on obedience (loose leash, place, heal, sit etc.) He is fairly well behaved (doesnt jump on people or knip) but he has two speeds, sleep and play. He literally will not just lay down and chill. We play/walk for an hour in the morning, noon'ish, and end our day with an hour of fetch and a 1 mile hike or so. I do on lead drills just like this channel has shown us to do during those times w play. Any suggestions on how to get a dog to be more chill in between activities?
@@TPinesGold Dang...I really appreciate such a thorough reply. Thank you. I will do exactly this. I need to continue to look for ways of working in the mental piece w the physical piece. We currently do them separately. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'd definitely recommend training the 'place' command! Such a game changer for me and my pup - gives the dog something to do/a place to be. A great tool for when you do something in another room, need to go get the mail, go cook in the kitchen, etc.
@@TPinesGold I definitely will look into that. This morning after reading your post I combined fetch with place, sit, and stay. It was amazing! He was firing on all cylinders and absolutely looked more happy then usual when exercising. I really appreciate your advice and explanations. If you have a good resource on the above activities (examples of combining the two) I would really appreciate it. I will be researching this on my own of course.
Will these leach skills work at any age?
So what do you recommend for those countries that have outlawed prongs and shock/ecollars? Also, do you ever wean them off of the the prong, especially for those people who want to compete with their dogs, since they're not allowed in the obedience rings?
I have a headstrong pitbull that knows the commands but only minds when half the time. Leash training is a nightmare. She will heel then suddenly runs. When I correct her she turns and attempts to jump at me- not aggressively but as if she thinks it is a game.
Does the slip leash work Best for a recactive dog or prong collar ?
Good tools, but wondering why queeny had 3 kinds of collars on?
Tom: "BbbRRrrrrrBRrrrRRRrrre.... sounds like more of a star wars character there"
Her: "......ok"
Me: spits drink out
My dog has what our nail clipper called silly puppy syndrome. He jumps and bites as if he’s trying to play but because he’s to big we aren’t able to train him because of it 😢
