If you're wondering - have I seen this video before? Well, you may well have! This is a much needed edit and chop down of my original review of the Arteon. I wasn't very pleased with the video as a whole. This new one is half the length of the original, yet still gives you all the same information and should just flow a lot better.
I bought a six month old Arteon two months ago. It is quite luxurious, the ride is smooth unless you put it in Sport mode and, as you pointed out, it’s cavernous inside. I came from a Kia Stinger which I really liked. The Arteon is not quite as rare as the Stinger and easily matches it in comfort and room although it doesn’t have quite the power of the Stinger but I never really used it to its full potential anyway. The Arteon has plenty enough power for me and it’s a beautiful looking car.
I see you are like me in your car choices - all about that rarity factor. Funny to go to an Arteon and it be less unusual :) The space is ridiculous isn't it. I like the Stinger and would hope to get one on this channel eventually.
I think the selling point for me when comparing Stinger to Arteon is Arteons fuel consumption is much better than the Stingers. However the Stinger is a performance car which makes sense.
I recently went from an A5 sport back to the Arteon and absolutely love it. As you mentioned, it’s a rare car which I really like. I’ve gone for the facelifted Shooting Brake version with the hybrid drivetrain. One thing to note is that if you have an Apple device and use Apple Maps you do get it repeated into the dash cluster but not Google for some reason? In comparison to the A5, I think it’s better looking, more aggressive especially the front end, love the dancing back lights and is also MUCH better equipped. It’s also a bigger, more practical car with, in my opinion better build and material choice quality. Hands down the better car.
@@sakichugouken2474 it’s hard to directly compare as the A5 was a diesel powered Quattro whereas my Arteon is a front wheel drive petrol / plug-it’s n hybrid. The A5 of course offered better traction, but I would say that the Arteon is a nicer environment. Better perceived build quality, higher quality cabin materials and sound deadening, also way, way better equipped and the double glazed windows makes the cabin especially quiet.
I've always been a fan of the Mercedes CLS, so when VW offered their Passat/CC, I started paying more attention. When the Arteon was introduced, I thought it was stunning (still do). In 2021, I bought a used 2019 with only 24k miles. It's beautiful, rare (I don't see them anywhere!) and I've never had more curiosity about and compliments for a car. It's cavernous, comfortable, competent, and quietly classy.

I own an oryx white '21 SEL R-Line. I got it because VW put food on my plate once upon a time and they were my very first new car; I went from early 90's Japanese clunkers to a 2016 Jetta S, then a '19 Jetta R-Line, both of which I loved. When it was time to move on I considered a GTI for the fun factor but felt maybe I was a bit too old for a hatchback. The newest GLI was a slightly more practical contender, and the Passat GT would have been if it had survived for longer than a year. Then I saw the Arteon and that was it, bang. Classy styling I think will hold up over time, beautiful lights, a ton of room (I'm 6'3" with a wife and a dog we take everywhere) and then I woke it up with a tune and intake I think I have the nicest car on the block and as a bonus, it's a conversation starter because nobody even knows it exists ^^
I am becoming more of a VW fan as time goes on and I drive more of their cars. The Arteon is just so different to anything else VW have produced, especially in the looks department, and it really stands out. I still don't see too many of them on the roads, but I'm pretty sure I spot every one of them that drives past me. That grille is just so distinctive. I rage when critics say it's priced the same as A5 and BMW 4 Gran Coupe but not such a good drive. If you specced either of those to the same as my Arteon, they'd be £10K more expensive. The Arteon is a total bargain, and only very fast and capable drivers will find it lacking compared to the competition.
