Nice. In addition: The palate can also pull to the upper sides.
Many students are helped by the notion that the palate can not only raise and drop, but also be pulled diagonally into the upper sides. Often when folks can't find how to raise the palate up-down, it helps them to think rather in terms of "open- and close the nose", meaning expanding the sides where their nose and throat meet (the palate) to the left and right, rather than just up and down.
Have you had students who found the right movement through "opening" rather than through "raising" the palate?

That's a great addition I forgot to mention. Thank you! 😀
I had both so far. I always listen to the created sound and then try to see which image triggers the the right movement. 😀

Moving the palate horizontally rather than just vertically yes.
Still though some nasal & mask resonance is necessary & when widening the palate you can place the voice in the mask & find it takes pressure off the throat.
      Singing is speaking on pitch.
So when you plug your nose and say it sounds like you have a cold…
Yeah… it’s because you’re not using the mask.
Mixed voice is singing with chest voice and nose resonance blend.
All registers should be even & balanced and not much has to happen. You may open your mouth or make more room slightly but going up in pitch is moving up the face
If you’re not using much nasal resonance & that’s your technique make sure you go softer.

Thank you so much, I've never heard of anything like this before 👀 and I'm not supposed to be a super newbie. I'll definitely practice this and try to be more conscious about what I'm doing when singing. I don't even know if I've been kind of doing this or not, I was totally unconscious about this o_O
Anyway, my choir teachers used to tell me to send the sound through my "mask" , to the nose and try to sound like a crying baby, something I never could nor liked so much. I just don't know what I did or not, or what I'm doing now 😅 all I know is that I'm learning a LOT with your channel. Great exercises! Thanks again!

Thank you so much! I’m so happy to hear that this video was helpful to you. 🙌🏻 It’s really a different sound and feeling and actually not too difficult to integrate into your singing. So have fun playing around with this. 😊
