Hi Timo! Thanks so much for your video, I found it very helpful. I am a classical singer (22y/o), and i just recently started doing the exercises you recommend. I think that sometimes I forcefully “press down” my thyroid cartilage when I sing, my suspicions are that I am not using the yawning muscle, but the long muscle that goes from the back of the tongue all the way down. Is that bad? How do I “isolate” the right (yawning) muscle, should I actively be using it, or just focusing on relaxing? Also another question, when I sing in the lower register I sometimes hear my voice crack, like a radio, I don’t know how to explain. What is it, is it bad, and how do I work with it? Many thanks!💓💓
Hi There! I have a video where I talk about the issue you are describing. Feel free to check it out here: th-cam.com/video/EKWd1MWuiU4/w-d-xo.html The Sternohyoid muscle ( the long muscle which we should not use to lower the larynx) normally starts engaging if you are trying too hard and you are not yawning in a relaxed way. I can not give feedback on the "radio sound". I would need to hear it. My suspicion is that you are pushing your larynx too low with the sternohyoid muscle with too much force and you are making contact with the false vocal cords because of that. See if it disappears if you relax and yawn a little less. 😀
I have found lately that I can go really, really high with my voice (let's not focus on quality...) And it feels like I have biiiig balls hanging down under my knees and my stomach is like SantaClaus when he laughs. It is odd how it seems everythings is downwards, feels like I make noices the lower the higher.

Oops I did it again… I accidentally said Larynx instead of Thyroid Cartilage at 03:38

Hohoho! I loved your description. 😂🎅 Thinking low while singing high is exactly what we need for these high notes!
