Loved the commentary. I have different opinion on the rural economy based on my 33 years of banking experience mostly in rural areas. It's a myth that a good monsoon will improve the financial position of most of the farmers (who hold 5 acres and below). At best they can break even the yearly living expenses. Then comes the question of how there is an improvement in consumption of FMCG goods and electronic devices in rural areas. The answer is in two parts. One is that a generation has struggled a lot and given their children a better education and they have settled in good positions. They have been supporting their parents to have a decent and better life. The second is that there has been a tremendous increase in land rates especially in the rural areas nearby to urban areas. With the increase in land rates and least interest shown by the next generation in agriculture, many people are selling their lands at decent or great prices. A portion of the proceeds, they are improving their Life style at the behest of the younger generation. As all the cities and municipalities are growing in size, this trend will continue for some more time.
Solid points; thanks for adding! Btw, would you be willing to share these insights on video or audio (whichever is comfortable for you) with the community on this channel? We think it'll be fascinating.
Yes, I am also agree with your opinion. Their children giving them a decent life and live in modern world. And parents are also allowing them do to whatever their children can do. They are not dominating over their kids
I second your opinion sir, more over many states distributing money to account, free electricity, road transport , food in rural area helped to shift from basic needs to wants.
It's on point observation..I live in rural agriculture family and my family is tirelessly working since 30yrs. But it hardly affected our financial condition
Speaking as a city dweller all my life, I hope rural India develops and it's growth even outpaces urban India, if need be. Rural India is the heart and soul of this nation. With rise in populism on both sides of the political spectrum, I do think government focus and spending to rural places and its people is gunna continue no matter what.
Is it only food that’s pinching Urban consumers. My experience is that 2 factors are dominating : 1) Rental costs - they’ve risen sharply post Covid 2) Direct taxpayers are mostly in Urban India while Rural consumers have agricultural and non-reported income thus pocketing all gains without paying taxes. But as rural demand grows, so will the pace of construction and subsequently land prices which will start to pinch the rural consumer. My sense is it will take 3-5 yrs to play out while urban rents saturate by the time
It would actually be interesting to see categorical split in rural vs urban India (is it automotive, personal care, food, etc.). A pattern in the ways of consumption (hypothesis being urban India makes daily purchases via quick commerce apps) might also show a difference. Also love the diversity of hosts taking this up. Keep going :)
Wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, make your tea/coffee, open TH-cam, watch the daily brief by Zerodha ! I've actually started watching these videos before reading the newspaper 😂 Btw, Subh Dipavali to everyone ! 😊
Consumer pattern shift from urban to rural because basic land cost very low i.e. low house cost, low land cost, low rental cost so incrementally spending money increasing so rural demand much batter compare to urban space.
While rural FMCG markets are experiencing rapid growth, a significant concern arises from the increasing amount of packaging waste accumulating on roads and fields. Unlike urban areas with established waste management systems, rural regions lack such infrastructure, posing a serious environmental threat. Urgent action is needed to address this issue before it spirals out of control.
Can u make videos on important sectors on a regular basis. In this way we will be updated regularly. Especially, housing, auto, consumers, infrastructure, power, etc. Also, need update on global news daily seperately. Important govt policies for different sectors. All should be regular updates. Will watch daily.
Urban spending has been hit with rising rentals and emi in the last 1-2 year.. official figures aside there's a 100% rise in rentals in good areas of Delhi and Mumbai.
Rural growth is because goverment's support and spending on agriculutural sector, rural economy and support through direct benefit transfer. Urban growth still constitute 65% of value in consumuer spendings.
Urban spendings has slowed down because of high cost of housing ( rent or EMI), education and healthcare. Household expenses have been rising at faster pace as compared to income. Education expenses inflation rate is 10% and for healthcare expenses inflation is 14%.
FMCG rural sales is due to rapid expansion of retail outlets by dmart, more, reliance smart etc and they are selling at very aggressive discounts almost 40% on many along with clothing, utensils everything. This is killing rural small businesses.
Rural India is becoming urbanized driven by increased income levels and low living expenses due to people having own houses not having to live a fancy life style like parties, expensive travels, malls
Wow. Btw, would you be willing to share these insights on video or audio (whichever is comfortable for you) with the community on this channel? We think it'll be fascinating.
Inflation is hurting everybody. You can only rise prices to some extent, after a certain level consumers will push back. Cost for almost everything is out of control nowadays

Great content, please try avoiding softer voice and more voice regulation. The delivery is good but is borderline doordarshan. Please use more graphs and images to keep it engaging. The content and intention is amazing, just need to make the content more engaging
Please get back the guy who does daily brief This girls don't look genuine this one and previous one look both look artificial and just sit here to recite the lines
🥲 going back to the drawing board. We'll figure what can be better. But we just wanna say, the amount of effort that goes into this is unchanged. It's still human effort powered. We don't like taking AI shortcuts.

Anurag be like- "Finally! A Worthy Opponent" 😌😆
There is also behavioural change. People are becoming health conscious and avoiding outside food and having it occasionally.
Wish I could speak with such apt expressions! Good work 👏🏼

Like Maruti sales falling, can we also get a segment explaining Tata Motors sales
This is very well researched! How much effort goes into researching about the content?
We spend a significant amount looking at all the different data points, earnings, filings etc and then write the story.
Good analysis
Inflation is hurting everybody.
You can only rise prices to some extent, after a certain level consumers will push back.
Cost for almost everything is out of control nowadays
Excellent Analysis mam!
Human psychology and focus group analysis was missing? May be rural discounts and offers driving charge
Is rural spending increasing due to remote working culture?

Foolishness already spread to Rural people😢😢😢 very sad. There is no future for this nation.
Authentic Bharatiya style is erased...❤❤❤

This show is not informative as it used to be…. Guess good news stories are thin on the ground
Looks like artificial
Very good information and news but there was phase is slow and lot of lag. You can compress same news in half the time. Please work on it.
