It's actually quite dangerous to flash BIOS without a working battery - any minor power disruption can make your device TOTALLY OBSOLETTE ("brick" your motherboard). At the very least, do this with your laptop connected to a UPS.
I fixed my Dell 15 3552 with a new generic battery by going into bios in the battery change it from “Adaptive” to “Primarily AC’ and the error message is gone and the battery charges normally. Also change Adaptive Warnings to “Disabled”
In the black screen it says only "press f2 to enter bios setup" Then in bios setting it says "This battery is temporarily disable. Please turn off the computer and try again when the unit is back to operational temperature" What can i do? please help Thanks in advance
I fixed it by taking the battery out from the laptop and press power button for 20 seconds then again after I put my battery in press power button for 20 seconds after that connect the charger and boot up pc the warning is gone and battery is charging.
BROOOOOOO i just did exactly what you said and it workeddddd. My new battery is not a dell official so I encountered the can not identif error. And i was reading here and I came across yours, thankfully. Broo tysm whoever you are!
This did not work for my Inspiron 15R-5520. What is weird is that a generic battery is recognized but a genuine one is not. I could have the wrong part number although it fits and does run on the genuine battery. It just wont charge. According to Dell parts people I need part 8858X but I'm using T54FJ. Usually they are interchangeable but the T54FJ is not working.
It cannot update bios unless adapter and battery are available at the same time

@@MonoSelva500oye bro, haciendo todo eso no se me eliminaría ningún archivo de la compu??
@@MonoSelva500ya instale el bios pero no lo quiero ejecutar por lo mismo de que no se si me eliminara cosas
It's not really dangerous. No more so that flashing the bios on a desktop. If you'd feel safe flashing the bios on a desktop a laptop is no different.

Thank you really, only issue (for me at least) is that I can't update the bios until the battery is operational and has a charge above 10% rofl @dell
you can update bios ignoring warning with following command in CMD: file_name_bios.exe /forceit
Didn't work, it tells me I already have a newer BIOS installed
