      @@ntshsahan It’s the same to a vaginal delivery! It may be a bit uncomfortable because of your incision so I use a breastfeeding pillow to support myself.

      Bethany I have a scheduled section in less than a month and your videos have been so helpful, one of my main concerns was being in so much pain due to the section that I wouldn't be able to think straight or take care of my baby boy properly, this video has been amazing to see a positive experience after a c-section, normally videos on TH-cam around it are so negative. Congrats on beautiful baby Carter

    Aww so cute! ❤️ I'm also amazed by how you can easily move around and sit after a c- section. When I had my first c-section 2 years ago I was afraid to move too much especially getting in & out of bed. Salute to you mama!

    It’s just amazing to see how well you were doing only a day after your c-section! I remember being totally wasted for about 36 hours after mine, not being able to move or even roll over in my bed much less putting on any kind of make up although being on the strongest pain meds possible. I couldn’t even lift my baby, which was really frustrating… (well ok, he was almost 10 pounds😅)

    Congratulations!!! I had the exact same experience with my first, although it was an emergency c section, but then our son was under the lights for 3 days, and he hated it. Absolutely cried most of the time.. and all the needles in the heel were terrible too. But thankfully it doesn't last forever! You're doing amazing, and Carter is absolute cuteness! Thank you for sharing

    Congratulations! ❤️ I'm having a c-section on Tuesday, the 20th...so your videos have really helped ease my worries about a lot of things, as this is my first bebe.
    (I have to have a c-section due to being 37 y/o & having a myomectomy in Feb 2020. It's the safest route for me. I know all about the stigma attached to scheduled c-sections and feel I have to clarify for some reason. Still can't believe women mom shame other women for how they birth their children.... )

      Not sure if you will see this but I had my baby via csection because of a myomectomy too, in 2019. I just wanted to give you a bit if reassurance that my babies birth was a beautiful experience, it was calm and all the nurses and doctors were so happy and excited, it was such a great experience for us. My recovery was pretty good, just keep on top of your pain meds and move when you can.
      Good luck and congratulations, from another myomectomy/csection mum

    Not sure if it’s the same in Canada but my hospital in the US didn’t even give access to my doctor/nurse team when a csection was what was happening. I had to drive down to the hospital to submit it in person beforehand and was told day of they weren’t allowed access. I’m assuming it’s because a lot of them are emergency’s (mine wasn’t) and so any other plan is kind of off the table.

I will be having a baby in September and it will be a c-section so I need all the help I could get🤦‍♀️ please and thank you!

      If your hospital has a lactation consultant I highly recommend you ask to see them, that was so helpful for me. Best wishes for you and your delivery ☺️💛

    • @nanaronhano337
      @nanaronhano337 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’ve had 2 csections - both urgent unfortunately. My first wasn’t able to nurse due to some physio stuff and my second latched great and we’re EBF right now at almost 4 months.
      Keep baby on your chest non stop in recovery and latch baby even during surgery by having someone else hold your nipple and support the baby. My son fed asap after they got him out! It was wonderful. Every time baby stirs or wakes up immediately put baby to breast. If you feed basically every time they’re awake your supply will come in good and strong and baby willl gain lots of weight. It’s exhausting but it’s only temporary. You cannot see how much baby is getting so let baby take all the time he/she needs to empty you. Football hold is okay but I liked cross cradle even more. A lactation consultant can double check for you that baby has no ties and is positioned just right. Your goal is to keep baby’s ears, shoulders and neck in a straight line. Hug baby really close to you and hold your boob so as much tissue as possible is in baby’s mouth. This helps avoid nipple trauma too as your nipples get used to the constant friction. Make sure to air your nipples out and apply an ointment liberally in the early days and then when you feel tender.

    • @AnnetteWarren
      @AnnetteWarren 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I also had two c section. I recommend to feed immediately after the surgery. And then every two or three hours. And wake the baby in the beginning to feed it. It took me about 2 or 3 days to have milk. At first it’s exhausting but it quickly gets better.

    • @nanaronhano337
      @nanaronhano337 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AnnetteWarren Yes! Waking to feed is very important. I think csection babies can be a little sleepier from extra drugs but I’m not sure.

    Having an IV is so much nicer than the awful repeated heel pricks. My daughter was very jaundice and she didn't bleed a ton when they did the pricks so there were LOTS and I would have loved to just do an IV and have 1 instead. Ugh. The flashbacks from all of the blood work. 😭😫

    • @BethanyFontaine
      @BethanyFontaine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wish they used the IV more than once though!! When they came to flush it they said it was no good and then kept doing heel pricks. So sad but glad it was momentary to make sure he was doing okay. Still hurts a Mama's heart! Glad you understand!

    Just entering my 31 weeks and was told by the doctor they don’t start discussing c-sections until 36 weeks but my question is about what week did or was a provider planning yours? I’m hoping to wait at least til 38 to 39 weeks and with my first I had an unplanned c-section at exactly 37 weeks. Just want to allow this one a little more time to cook.. 😊

    Congratulations 💙, Carter is a cutie. I have a question. My 2 oldest were vaginal, my two youngest were c-section. For my first c-section I got not stitches but the other(medal) can't remember name. They were removed after four days(day released), for my second c-section my doctor said to tell the hospital nurse not to remove my clamps not sure if that's what they are called. My doctor said wait a week and he would remove them. Was it the same for you? When did they take yours? I am debating if I should have another c-section or try vaginal. Kids birth years are 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014.
