Scored a 3060ti off the EVGA cue after a long wait. Have it paired with a Ryzen 5 3600. Playing Cyberpunk day one patch on Ultra RTX @1080p it hovers between 35-60 fps. It just chews it up. I know that's not the highest fps but it's pretty smooth and playable for me. I have about 80 hours on the card running from 62-80C and it's been 💯. Hasn't glitched or crashed a single time. Couldn't be happier with it for the price.

You need to get a 5600x asap you’ll get a huge boost in performance and frame stability. I’m on 5600x 3060ti and it’s amazing I also play cyberpunk. Make sure to enable resizable bad you unlock extra performance as well.

I am surprised that a dual fan 3060 Ti can be so cool and consequently produce little noise when at full load.
I somehow thought that triple where the only option for good temps and low noise levels.

I was confused when choosing between the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti XC and the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC, especially because the second one has 12GB. You cleared everything up and offered a concise and thorough review and comparison.
    Thanks!

  • @alteredkennedy

Thanks for the vid. I have owned both of these cards and can confirm the 3060Ti increases its lead over the 3060 at 1440p. Between the two, I would buy the 3060Ti every time. Also, the coolers are NOT identical. Take a closer look at them, around the 2:40 mark. Compared to the 3060, this 3060Ti has two additional heat pipes embedded in its cooler. You can see these sticking out the end of each card. There are 2 total pipes and 4 ends showing on the 3060 (these two pipes wrap around and stick out twice), whereas the 3060Ti has 4 pipes total with just 2 of them wrapping around, for a total of 6 ends sticking out. They both use the exact same PCB (circuit board), but the 3060Ti has additional VRM components installed to handle the higher power consumption. Cheers! Good luck in your search for GPUs.

I think nVidia made a mistake with only 8GB on the 3060 Ti and 3070/ti because they can actually play at 4K half-decently and could utilize that extra RAM, and are very competent 2560x1440 cards. The 3060 is the equivalent to a 1080 Ti with 1GB more RAM, DLSS and Ray tracing 2.0, so it can game at 4K, but not with high settings. And thank you for taking in-game benchmarks, and not just using canned game auto-benches. Great review, and thanks for keeping it short and sweet. Subbed.

I was able to pick up the Ti version off of Antonline when they had a limited shipment drop. It came in one of those god-forsaken bundles, but for $826, I was able to get the 3060 Ti XC, a 360mm AOI, a 750w fully modular Gold rated psu and a $20 EVGA RGB keyboard. If I paid eBay scalper prices, I would have had to pay close to $100 more and wouldn't have gotten the extra parts so, in this economy, I see it as a win.

After entering the EVGA queue in December 2020 I just got notified yesterday. Managed to buy one, it arrives around Friday. This will be for a 2560x1080 100hz monitor. Upgrading from a 1070. This GPU looks to be plenty powerful for this display. I was a little concerned about it being too small and this limiting its performance. But it seems this GPU does not need a large heatsink and triple fan in order to perform well. Thanks for the review.

In a case with good airflow, out of the box it idled at 55 degrees. Making the fans spin at 950 RPM, it idles at 45 degrees. With any load on it at all, it's annoyingly loud. My return has been approved and I've gotten a 3070 with a great big cooler and three fans. It'll be here tomorrow. For a little less than $100 more, better performance and a card that's known to be quiet. I was going to get a 3060 ti with better cooling, but the price of those is just barely under a 3070 as I write this.
Before all of this I had an EVGA 1660 ti (two fan model) which of course isn't nearly as powerful, but it idled cooler even with its fans off, and at load the fans weren't as loud, either. I don't know if my particular 3060ti had something wrong with it or what. Maybe a bad thermal paste job or something? The fans are loud in it but it didn't sound like anything was wrong with them.

Ehy Dannys, thanks for your video! May I ask you if you suggest me, for graphic using with Photoshop or DaVinci Resolve, to buy the 3060 with its 12 gb vRAM or the most performing 3060Ti with less vRAM?
And another question, I found the EVGA 3060Ti costs around 150$ less than the MSI 3060Ti: will I found some differences in performances or it could be fine to buy the EVGA? Thanks!

    • @DannysTechChannel

The price difference really gets down to styling preference. You’ll see pretty much the same performance. I’d go for the 3060Ti if you don’t mind the price difference. I don’t think the extra VRAM out weighs the performance bump of the Ti. Plus the gaming performance increase is nice too 😉
