The Portland we grew up in.. In 91/92 The Blazers went to the finals, the old waterfront had the 3 huge steps that we would skate on and Burnside akatepark was only a year old. The end of the line was called the "westside rails" it's now goose hollow. Elliott Smith had yet to release Roman Candle and everyone was looking at Seatle. Portland was an unknown paradise at this time.
The good ol days. Back when it wasn’t the blue line ....it was the only line. Pull cords for stops, old wheelchair lift in the front car. Manual announcement of each stop. Original Max cars. Thanks for sharing these memories ❗️
People did a lot more jaywalking back then. It perplexes me today how people these days will wait at a crosswalk until it turns green when there is absolutely no oncoming traffic. Back then they'd just run in front of a train with seconds to spare, haha.

I've just noticed that the driver would say the stop. This must've been before they used the computerized voices which I've heard today.
