  • TriMet WES - Part 1
    Departing From Beaverton TC
    TriMet's new Westside Express Service is now in operation! As of Feburary 2009, WES runs passenger service about 15 miles between Beaverton and Wilsonville, Oregon on the existing tracks from the Portland and Western Railroad. WES trains run every 30 minutes between Wilsonville and Beaverton during morning and afternoon rush hours.
    We ride along on WES to Wilsonville and depart from Beaverton TC. In Part 1, it shows the ride from Beaverton TC to just before the Hall/Nimbus station.

    I remember riding the WES train, it was filled every time I rode it, i loved the experience, in fact a lot of older people were riding it, and there was a real conductor.

    Ah I sure remember this video from my day lol, dang time goes quickly! Also I would love to ride those trains, seems fun however it probably wont be exactly the same without hearing that nice RS3K horn :-/

    I just took WES today for the first time. I loved it. Beautiful ride. As to the complaints that not many people ride it -- it simply needs to be extended to Salem. If it were extended to Salem, more people would use it.

    Takes you from Beaverton to Tigard, Tualatin and Wilsonville or the other way around. A commuter rail service from Wilsonville oprerating every half hour during the morning and afternoon rush hour.

    If only they had done this with St Louis Metrolink..With all the tracks running to almost every part of the city it would not be to hard to expand the system.

      Not long after it opened they replaced them with quieter horns due to noise complaints in some parts of the route especially Tualatin...no wonder they are now just stationery automated horns only in Tualatin now.

    why can't the MAX go down there?

    • @NathanielJackson1981
      @NathanielJackson1981 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the WES uses just rail. MAX requires overhead lines and switches plus the rail. Not to mention the track is different from the freight line traffic.

      And because it's too far. And the WES is just fine
