This story reminds me of another elite-class swindler, Anna Sorokin, who rose to upper echellons simply by mirroring traits some rich folk feel most comfortable with and admire: vanity, self-righteousness, entitlement.
Odd indeed that he was able to fool educated people. Perhaps they were not educated in critical thinking, or perhaps they were honest people who expected others to be the same.
Even educated people can be emotionally manipulated.... that is the problem with manipulative people! Especially narcissists and sociopaths- they know exactly what their targets want to hear and will say/do anything to flatter and entice them....

While living in San Marino, California, Gerhartsreiter used the alias 'Christopher Chichester, XIII Baronet'. He claimed to be English aristocracy. I read a really interesting book about this guy, Blood Will Out by Walter Kirn. Kirn is an author of novels and screenplays. The book isn't an in depth discussion about Christian, but more a look at Kirn's own motivations for becoming friendly with Christian, and how Kirn ignored red flags and common sense. It's illuminating as we do often take people at face value. Thankfully, most of them aren't psychopathic killers and cons.
You’ve been doing loads of cases I have never heard of before and I’m REALLY ENJOYING them, more than the ones of whoever is in the current TH-cam drama. Though I understand people love those too.
Thanks for mentioning youtube for your podcast link. I don't use regular podcast platforms and wouldn't have thought it was a youtube channel. Subscribed!
A video on malingering for social media (TikTok/TH-cam especially) would be interesting. There are whole communities dedicated to “exposing” people while disability advocates frequently cite not being believed about their disabilities as a major issue
Great vid. Would be great to hear what Dr Grande makes of the following at some point: 1) Milli Vanilli (pop band) 2) Han Van Meegeren (artist) 3) Percy Toplis (army officer imposter).
The “Not So Talented Mr. Gerhartsreiter” would have been a fun title. Jokes aside, this man is creepy as they come. I wasn’t aware of the murders, only pretending to be a Rockefeller. This is a fascinating topic to explore. There’s certainly an entitlement that comes with having money/aristocracy. I witnessed this while living in Manhattan where if you aspired to work at specific companies or live in certain buildings, your Sir name gave a quick pass/access. Thank you as always Dr. Grande. 😊👍💜
Hey there Dr. Grande! there is a case that just happened here in brazil where a woman named joice hasselmann woke up with some injuries that seemed like she was beat up by her husband, but she is ruling out domestic violence as she claims she does not remember anything happening at all. The interviews are also very interesting, her husband's behavior is odd, for lack of a better word... i thought you could check it out, even though the case is still on going. Thanks a lot for your work! i realy like your insights and your sharp sense of humor hehehe :D
Oh my… I don’t like reading about serial killers. But I like Dr. Grande’s analysis “of situation like this”. Knowing how he analyses, how precise he is, how good he is with the language and humor, I have a feeling it will be a best seller and first print of first book…. Dr. Grande, are you offering sales of the book directly from here WITH YOUR AUTOGRAPH? 😌 I would be interested in “booking” your first book. 🙏✨☺️
Part of me watches Dr. Grande to learn and because I’m interested to hear his opinion on things but the other part seems to like the evidence that there are still men with class and grace in the world. ☺️
Dr. Grande, have you made a video about Edwin Lara, the Kaylee Sawyer murderer? If not, it would be very interesting to hear your highly educated & profesional reflections regarding that case. Thank you.
This video nicely summarizes Walter Kirn's book "Blood will out.". The only valuable addition in the book is the feeling the author imparts that he himself was wholly taken in by this con artist!
I believe the five factor model has been replaced by the letters *E.L.I.T.E* in Dr. Grandes new *Gerhartmeier* video. I could not figure out of Karl was impersonating Grande, or perhaps speculating on what would happen if his credudentuals would be dismantled by such a great doc. *Alles gut* (all is good?)... no I’m still speculating if I could possibly be found out. Great work, Dr. Grande, I had to switch identities each time you mentioned me in a new role.....**Every Layman’s Intelligensia Truth Evasions**. (Incorporated) ...”ELITE, you can cross out OCEANS with a simple tool”. *ELITE*...for those with no conscience to burn. *ELITE!!!*
Great video Dr. Grande! I remember seeing a lifetime movie based on this case. They also mentioned that he got his accent from Thurston Howell the third from Gilligan's island. lololol. That was so funny about the chief Wiggams comment. I laughed out loud at that one.🤣🤣🤣
Wow! he did NOT live a boring life. However, I just can't ever understand how someone could keep up with all those lies... P.s. Dr Grande's burns at the end were the highlight of this case analysis 😂💥
I am from San Marino, grew up there! And yes the city has a rule of only ‘single family due kings’ so technically he was living there illegally. I lived around the corner from where those bones were found. I was only a kid but I remember it so vividly. It had the whole town on edge, and this case tightened the single family house rule in the city. But as the story evolved, none of us were ready for all of it! And it does still impact us all from San Marino, even if we don’t still live there, to this day!
A small computer firm I once worked for hired such a guy. The bosses were extatic about his abilities and initially we other employees believed it, for a few days. Then it quickly turned out it was all complete nonsense, and on top of it he stole computer parts. How do these people go through their lives?
This was the funniest one by far! And most informative, after listening I'm changing my name to Rockefeller, Musk, Besos, Gates, see if my luck changes while I'm panhandling
So glad you're doing this guy. I remember watching Unsolved back in the 80's. Story of missing couple in CA. Wasn't till years later when the guys mom died & the house was sold that bodies were found buried in the backyard. Eventually tied to Christian after all his scamming in NYC.
If someone comes up to you and says they’re royalty, they’re probably not.

3When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away

4For day and night
your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
as in the heat of summer. b
5Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
the guilt of my sin.
6Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
will not reach them.
7You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
9Do not be like the horse or the mule,
which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle
or they will not come to you.

but the Lord’s unfailing love
surrounds the one who trusts in him.

So he was a nobody pretending to be a somebody, even if he had to murder and dismember with a chainsaw to keep up the facade.
Most interesting case so far, Dr. Grande. ❤️

I think someone's being a naughty boy or girl!
I 'll pull out the time out chair! 🪑⏰🤷♂️
🤣
Excellent analysis as always. Thank you Dr Grande.
She I buy the book ?
I love the way you say Chichester. It sounds very grand!
That’s a great way of saying this guy is a “first class nut.” 💕
"...Had some difficulties regulating her intake of alcohol".- Everybody 2020.
Quite the interesting case! Thanks again, Dr. Grande, your content is always fascinating!
The Bieber dig was
You’ve been doing loads of cases I have never heard of before and I’m REALLY ENJOYING them, more than the ones of whoever is in the current TH-cam drama. Though I understand people love those too.
I didn't see that coming. The Gilligan's Island reference. Love it lol
Thank you Dr. grande a fun trip
Zdravstvuyte, doktor Grande, vsem privet!
From Russia with love😍😘💘❤
Great vid. Would be great to hear what Dr Grande makes of the following at some point:
1) Milli Vanilli (pop band)
2) Han Van Meegeren (artist)
3) Percy Toplis (army officer imposter).
Always knew you were talented, but didn’t know you were also a doctor. Loved your role in End of Watch and Chips.
Grande. 😊👍💜
Ah hem! Surname! Education may be good for something!😎😇
Oh my…
I don’t like reading about serial killers.
I would be interested in “booking” your first book. 🙏✨☺️
Part of me watches Dr. Grande to learn and because I’m interested to hear his opinion on things but the other part seems to like the evidence that there are still men with class and grace in the world. ☺️
A true compliment!💎
I remember this case, it was bizarre. There are so many gullible people in the world.
I'm glad I was born a doubter.
Yeah I see a lot of friends and coworkers fall for the craziest things that to me seem absolutely obvious that they are scams/phishing schemes, etc.
@@TeKnoVKNG23 Same. I know a lot of people who got vaccinated, it's crazy.
That is not funny.
Dr. Grande, have you made a video about Edwin Lara, the Kaylee Sawyer murderer? If not, it would be very interesting to hear your highly educated & profesional reflections regarding that case. Thank you.
PLEASE consider doing an analysis of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, "Dr. Death." So much to work with there.
Can we please have a video on Dr Christopher Duntsch, aka Dr Death? The sheer awe and disgust of his story amazes me
Thurston Howell III! What a great ending. :)
Now how you gonna shade The Beibs like that Dr Grande!!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂😂😂🤣🤩
I'd be interested in an analysis of Timothy Jones Jr (father that killed his 5 children) and the family dynamics.
17:40 Excellent analogy doctor! 🤣
I love that you made a reference to Michael Scott from The Office! 😂
That plant in the pink container looks awfully close to the edge. Remember, safety first!
If people expended as much worry and consideration on each other as they do on Dr.Grande's cacti the world would be a perfect place!
Wow! he did NOT live a boring life.
Oh snap, you got some sick burns doc! Do me next!
This is a case of narcissism totally out of control. The rational question: Why?
The last wife was so driven and hard working, she couldn’t see him for the grifter he was. His perfect target.
Though, she did fall for the 'Rockefeller' name. Her fault.
Doctor Grande, almost a mil.. congratz!
Dr. Grande, please do a video of outtakes. I think the “bloopers” would be funny and interesting.
Umm .... Maybe not in his line of work.
@@here_we_go_again2571 he does have several videos of bloopers. he normally showcases them at the end of his videos.
Dr. Grande is perfect and doesn't make mistakes
Yes!

"fake rare paintings"
Lol
Love this
Hey Dr. Grande. Love your stuff. Can you do one on the Craigslist Killer if you haven’t done it already?
Very interesting case that I never heard of!
Christopher Crowe aka Roger "Verbal" Kint (Kevin Spacey in the usual suspects) lol
Hahaha
That character made things up in that same way! Think of that story all constructed from the things on the wall behind the detective!
