Thanks man, yeah there is something really enjoyable about the risk to reward factor with it all. I am seeing so many people locally just giving away their old PCs. The only negative is the hording. Gotta sell em quick!
Thanks man and also thanks for being like one of the longest always commenting subscribers haha. They're definitely part of the channel, even if they're kind of goofy at this point 😅
She's gone already. $220, not bad. Kids happy too 🫡. They drove down from NH too. Keep your eyes out for the budget stuff man! You cover the north of our location. There's always deals up there.
@techwandoUS reallyyy damn I'm definitely getting going to start keeping an eye out more I've been so stuck on online deals need to get back on local ones now
really nice! if all you wanna play are fps games and old games from your back catalog older hardware is still relevant. the only thing that matters is "are ya winning/having fun son?"
Cool video man. Mishaps are part of the job. Performance wise, I am guessing it's good. Last time I played a CoD game was CoD World at War, single player only and it was grrrrreaat! Have a nice day.
i had a 4790k for a near decade and gave it to my sons friend when i got my new 12900k system, he uses it for forkknife and pubg and loves it. I paired it with a 1070 i nabbed at goodwill for $40!
Hey great deal man, nice when ya find a good deal. That Maximus board is not bad at all, I have always liked them, Currently, as you already know, I run the Maximus XIII Hero. Too bad that one had some liquid damage, but glad ya got it cleaned up and working. LOL, GF thought you were a robber ha-ha, that is great! Great video my friend!!
Thanks man. Yeah I'd still totally be on Asus if they didn't burn me so many times in the past few years. It's too bad they were once my favorite. I will say, my recent RMA situation has been okay since they got called out for a lot of issues, but It has been a few weeks now, waiting for the board I sent off to return.
That Cougar is looking good. I would be tempted to upgrade the internals if the system does not sell quick. Appears to have some excellent Air flow, and bling going on. I hope I can find a Cougar close to the great price to performance you grabbed yours at.
Yeaaa I had to slide her in there. They made a TG version of that case turns out. I would have actually kept it if it was that version. May your cougar hunting adventures be rewarding 🙏 As for the sale, I just put it up for $200. Someone offered $220 to hold for a day. Nice and quick sale.
Definitely great find, great case, very nice mobo, best CPU for that mobo, good ram, on ebay those would sell over 100$. I'm currently running a 4790k on Sabertooth mobo for my second PC that I use for stuff I don't want connected to me and I can't tell the difference between my main PC and this one in daily windows use.
@@techwandoUS lol nah now they're charging 400$ extra for boards like that, Tuf is now mid range. I love those boards as well so bought almost all the chipsets that were released for Sabertooth from Z77 to Z170, X99, only missing x58 and x79.
Good stuff after over 10 years I had Maximums Formula IV with Cpu 4670k Cool Master Trooper Full ATX Corsair Vengeance dd3 16gb Corsair 750 Psu Professional was beast back my old as day's now run multiple computers no extra time to play anymore games such life takes time away 😉 but good video 👍 😀
Thank you, also the Formula was a beautiful board. Way back then, so much styling with the cover and EK vrm design. I totally understand the time stuff. Almost in the same boat these days.
I thought about that also, almost did. Sometimes having that 32 helps with older systems on the sale, even though the user likely won't take advantage of all of it. Appreciate the comment
I still have a 2080Ti FE I need to try repair it looks absolute mint condition can handle 2D but second it hits 3D clocks she crashes more then likely a Micron memory issue going to attempt the double vram mod. Also no better feeling seeing something you'd thought was gone come back and work better then before.
It's been a while since I thought about this, but what was the actual reason they put 11gb vs 12 on those cards? Going with Samsung memory? And yes, it's super rewarding. Also in the video sense. I'd continue making the video, but the fun factor would have taken a dive 😅
@@techwandoUS oh yeah 100% I always thought it was a way to not undercut the Titan or keep in parity since it had 24gb. Samsung for sure since it's currently Micron. I feel that when I built the repair scratch build from parts I'd repaired after the work was done it became a chore they didn't feel fun. But seeing it power up and hit 35c on a 5800x3D at 100% load was rewarding that build actually sold for $3000 though it did have a EVGA 3080Ti XC
@shadowarez1337 that makes sense (2080ti memory size). Yeah at some point I'm in the repair process, there's always a "why am I doing this" moment, and sometimes it doesn't work out and that really sucks, but like you said... You get it to boot up, it's super rewarding. Also crazy good flip on the 3080Ti system.
You always find the craziest deals!!! On a side note, old people that don’t trust Windows buy up Linux computers like they’re some rare form of freedom or something.
I've been on sorta a roll, but I am a total fiend on FB all day. That's funny you say that about the older people. I've actually had older people asking me if I install Linux LOL. How well versed are you in Linux?
I know just enough to be dangerous but not enough to be competent. I bought a couple books and can do random stuff like crack passwords and retrieve data. Linux Mint is almost like Windows 7 or Windows XP. You can cobble together the cheapest parts you can find, stuff them in a small form factor case and old people will show up out of nowhere to buy them. Crazy thing is, they don’t haggle or anything
@@techwandoUS Linux Mint is by far the easiest to work with, they also have OEM install for an option so you can put a computer together, test it and load whatever programs they want then select “prepare for shipping to end user” in the top left corner and it’s just like buying a computer from the store. Linux Mint is the easiest to download. Once you get one Linux computer going you can verify the SHA numbers and etch installation thumb drives from that computer.
The tough part is the i5 has no hyper threading. 4 cores with 8 threads like the i7 still feels pretty snappy all things considered. The last i5 4690K I used basically sat around 60-100% load at all times.
That's a solid trick. I ended up just cutting a plate at my job to cover it. Probably should have shown that in the video, but the sticker actually ruined the plastic.
To help the channel, drop a like on the video. Also let me know what you think of the final results...
I dropped a like! Final results are fantastic! For $200 you can't complain! Good video as always!
@ErockOnTech thanks man, always appreciate your support
those cheap part hunts are always the best
especially if everything works out and can get repaired

Thanks dude, hope all is well man. I was just in your area today actually.
Awesome find and wonderful video! I can never get enough of the montages!!

That 1070 for $40 is quite a good deal also! And yeah I am pretty surprised how modern it still feels. Holds up so well for all these years later.
Nice rescue! If someone else picked it up, there's a good chance that motherboard might have been trashed.
Yeah it was definitely one of those situations where I was pretty unsure if it was to work or not after cleaning it. Definitely almost a trash board.
The risky deals are always nice
These deal man! I wish my area was like this!
Just gotta keep those eyes peeled man!
It depends.😢
The bigger the country/city,the better the prices.
@@DuneRunnerEnterprises this is very true. My area is overloaded with people tbh. A rural area will definitely be a lot harder.

@Roman00744 I currently have three generations of them 87/97/170 so I totally get it. Sabertooth boards are sweet.
