I’m just skeptical of whether PS would fully support it and stand behind it or just do what they’ve done a lot in recent years and just eventually abandon it.
Hot take. Genuinely love my PS portal and not very interested in a new handheld. I like that everything connects back to my PS5. And the new update greatly improved performance, and added cloud streaming (without the need for ps5 connection) which I’ll probably use more when on the go. I am lucky enough to have the ideal conditions for cloud streaming / remote play though
Even when I'm at my computer, I'll sometimes be playing on my Switch in handheld mode while I'm watching something on TH-cam. I'd be down for a PlayStation 5 Portable. I'm not always out of the house, but I leave my home often enough that I would benefit from having something like a portable PlayStation that could play the newest Astro Bot.
I hope it’s backwards compatible since the PS Vita is discontinued I had a difficult time getting a proper PS Vita. The one I have something is wrong with the charging port so sometimes it’s hard to charge it. I have Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 on the PS Vita. Unfortunately we may never get those two games on the Nintendo Switch.
I have watched to many videos where some guy converts their PS4 into a handheld to not wonder why Sony isn't doing this. Some of those homemade rigs look pretty good. Sony Playstation R&D could have a ps4.5 handheld designed in a month. If they don't design a handheld to be a hybrid they shouldn't bother. The only reason I bought a Switch is because it's a hybrid.
given that graphics power is really maxing out, Sony maybe be taking a page from Nintendo. Their portable system is basically a portable PS5 that can dock to the TV (replacing the PS5) and then the PS6 is a even more powerful hybrid (about power as the PS5 PRo). then going forwards Sony just makes one hybrid system.
honestly i wonder what playstation has to offer the handheld market at this point? especially since they are putting there games on pc so you can play them on the pc handhelds.... enless they are able to do a better price to performance then other handhelds wich will be hard to do since they all use similar amd hardware.... but i have hope as more competition and options is better
I'll be honest, I'm spoiled with steam deck already. If I can't play all my retro games I already "own" then I don't really care that much. And I don't trust Sony to make any exclusives that I would actually want to play like Nintendo does.
Sony thank you that’s all I wanted from you not a pro not a six just a psp vita 2 and yes it has to have Netflix TH-cam and browser don’t drop the ball you got this
I think both of these companies are looking at the switch and thinking yeah we can do a handheld. I think both companies have no idea of what they are doing.
Omg same gameboy advance is my first hand held no need to tv like ps1 before though my ps2 the fat one have detachable screen. I got ds lite to psp to n3ds xl to vita slim to switch oled to steam deck and ally I for tv, I have ps3 and ps4 and did not bought ps5 cause I mostly play on hand held.
I feel like sony and Microsoft are too late. Nintendo and PC handhelds are the new thing and sony and Microsoft both put their games on pc. I'm sure casuals will like it I guess I just don't see the point in buying a playstation or xbox handheld when you will be locked to a specific ecosystem and can do less and can't do emulation or anything. Unless they make the next playststion handheld slim and small like the vita
Oh, they decided to finally support a handheld that was before its time and could’ve put them ahead of this rat race? I’ll believe it when it happens 😅 and I say this as one of the 5 people who actually owned one (still do in fact, I play daganronpa from time to time on it) 😭
If its really a vita 2 then i might switch teams again. Went frm psp n vita to switch oled this year. If vita 2 is cming i might skip the switch 2 since i planned only getting it a few years after launch. But we'll see what happens. Maybe the vita 2 wud be good hardware but what about the games?? The ps5 is good but the games... arent 100% exclusive so what's the point??
Haywood, do you have any idea if I get the game ghost of Tashima on my computer PC? It will work with a PS five controller just as it would with a PlayStation five.
It's because blue-sky doesn't have an algorithm that feeds off engagement bait, even tho it's usually negative people still engage. Usually if I want to find something I have to search it but on twitter it's just the scrollpage or trending tags. I just wish people didn't say stuff about hating twitter then still use it. One foot in one foot out
The switch and steam deck are the best ever consoles made and the only two that make sense in 2024. Playstation and Xbox need to stay relevant there just relying on game library accounts. PS6 and next Xbox should be a handheld with a dock for TV play. The portal has proved that playstation ultimate is read for TV play alongside Xbox game pass. Nintendo should add a TV streaming service as well. The docks should hold added power for current gen AAA games on big TVs for the highest quality and hand held takes a dip in performance in h portable local play if necessary. Gaming laptop and current gen handheld have proven this isn't necessary for the last 5 plus years. So why is playstation and Xbox stalling and abusing the trust of game library accounts for local play with there consoles people have been forced in to game account for two gens of consoles and there's no way out , People are for to become game collectors not by choice and hook in to multiple devices for mobile AAA gaming.
Screw you Sony after the epic failure that was the first Vita, I have zero trust that you can actually do anything right. I still have my Vita collecting dust in my drawer as a sad reminder of how much hope I once had for this console.
We are living in the best handheld timeline.
I’m just skeptical of whether PS would fully support it and stand behind it or just do what they’ve done a lot in recent years and just eventually abandon it.
The handheld timeline is the sacred timeline, unless the TVA show up at the launch 🙃
The best handheld timeline would be the vita being successful and sony making a ps vita 2 like 5 years ago
I hope that the 2nd version of Switch 2 has 2 screens to play 3DS games
I believe that the 2nd version of Switch 2 will be digital only
I agree all this handheld pc, the upcoming steamdeck 2, switch 2, and then sonny's cooking something
Instead if console wars we gonna have handheld wars
im honestly excited about that
Won’t bother me,I’ve got loads of handhelds and I’ll be buying loads more 😃
instead of handheld wars we will have world wars
Hot take. Genuinely love my PS portal and not very interested in a new handheld. I like that everything connects back to my PS5. And the new update greatly improved performance, and added cloud streaming (without the need for ps5 connection) which I’ll probably use more when on the go.

i’m all for, it the generation of handheld gaming being revived sounds amazing
IT REMINDS ME THE TIME WHEN SEGA HAD SONIC IN 32 BITS THEN MARIO WHO HAD 6BITS
Even when I'm at my computer, I'll sometimes be playing on my Switch in handheld mode while I'm watching something on TH-cam. I'd be down for a PlayStation 5 Portable. 4:56 "akin to the switch" , yeaa let's not forget that remote play has existed since the psp
I hope it’s backwards compatible since the PS Vita is discontinued I had a difficult time getting a proper PS Vita.

I have Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 on the PS Vita.

I love my Portal. And I love you, Wood. I appreciate these videos. :)
That handheld should be backwards compatible if not not buying it
I have watched to many videos where some guy converts their PS4 into a handheld to not wonder why Sony isn't doing this.

Wood, you really suit glasses! Also i'm just now realising that you're probs gonna age like fine wine, lucky man.
I think the glasses make you look smart and handsome
given that graphics power is really maxing out, Sony maybe be taking a page from Nintendo. 100% would buy

X-Box had nothing before the handhelds.
You nailed it
Wasn’t that in a porkys film? The throwing spaghetti against the wall thing,or was it a national lampoon film? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
If its good I will be interested. I am more interested in an Xbox hand held because Game Pass and portable gaming is a great deal.
if spaghetti sticks its not ready, its past ready
Sony thank you that’s all I wanted from you not a pro not a six just a psp vita 2 and yes it has to have Netflix TH-cam and browser don’t drop the ball you got this
glasses are a good look
I think both of these companies are looking at the switch and thinking yeah we can do a handheld.
I think both companies have no idea of what they are doing.
He says to hair flip onto the subscribe button. Unfortunately my hair is too short but I will subscribe
If it makes you feel better, I understood the Spagethi thing
If they can pull this off at a reasonable price, Nintendo will be in serious problems
I really like handheld gaming. Loved it since gameboy advanced
@jcc4543 i just went from game boy. Too psp go. To psvita, then to nintendo switch
It won’t be a handheld PS5 if I can’t play the physical PS5 games Sony sold me on it
damn i still own vita for years
A week ago you said Xbox releasing a handheld wouldn’t be a good idea…
I feel like sony and Microsoft are too late. Nintendo and PC handhelds are the new thing and sony and Microsoft both put their games on pc. I'm sure casuals will like it I guess I just don't see the point in buying a playstation or xbox handheld when you will be locked to a specific ecosystem and can do less and can't do emulation or anything. I would buy a ps vita 2 just to play bloodborne and for nostalgia, i loved my psp
Pc turning to be a console now hahhaha
I hope it's more of a PSP2 instead of a Vita2. If you know you know.
What do you think of the Lenovo Legion?
Nintendo has created what will be known as as the great handheld era, it will either succeed or crash
Console wars have gotten so stale and dull in terms of innovations that the consumer war has now transitioned over to handheld wars.
First Steam, now Microsoft, and now Xbox. I wonder if Nintendo has thought about jumping into the handheld market.
Microsoft is xbox
Oh, they decided to finally support a handheld that was before its time and could’ve put them ahead of this rat race? I’ll believe it when it happens 😅 and I say this as one of the 5 people who actually owned one (still do in fact, I play daganronpa from time to time on it) 😭

Nothing is new under the sun
I swear I’m not doing this on 🐬
Haywood, do you have any idea if I get the game ghost of Tashima on my computer PC? It will work with a PS five controller just as it would with a PlayStation five.
Yes, you get all the same features from the dualsense that the controller would give you on a base PS5.
@@OwlWra1th thanks appreciate it
PS portal is 100% dependant on wifi connection and it does not support WiFi 6.... how/why??? ps5 has WiFi 6 and ps5 pro has WiFi 7.
Steam deck fufills all my needs, period.
nintendo was the first and is the best to do it now everyone is trying to catch up 😂
Lol ya we new he was going back to X

No one is going to call it vita 2 it’s a psp3 lol
More anime

The horned rims aren’t working my guy. You look like a ex nasa employee from the 60s
