Allison, you have this comfort but highly intellectual magic about you in that your perfect questions really made Ringo open up and reflect on his personal life in a way that I’ve never really seen from him before! This is the best Ringo interview in decades.
After watching so many interviews with Ringo, it’s really obvious that the depth of his answers are a direct reflection of what he thinks of the interviewer and their questions. Stupid questions always get stupid answers from Ringo and this was a pure joy to watch!! You’re amazing!!

I am 70 years old and I remember the Beatles has a 10 year old kid might as well say I grew up with you guys. Thank you all for the great music all those years. You were my favorite band of all time and you still are today. The Beatles were the best that ever was. I wish John and George were here with you guys. I sure miss them. May they rest in peace.👍👍❤️😎🎸🎼🎵🎶🎸 Thank you so much for all the great music music😁😀❤️😎🎸🎶

What a great interview. About time someone with a brain asks Ringo some great questions. Sadly Ringo has done so many repetitive interviews because the person asking the questions wasn't ready so it was the same answers to the same questions (Not Ringo's fault). Allison asked some great questions and rolled with his answers. She really listened to his answers and adapted to them. Brilliant!!!

Well done. Most of the times Ringo is interviewed as a drummer for the Beatles in the belief that is all he was, is, and will be because that made him. Delightful to see that someone recognizes that is only something he did for a time and not who he is. He lived before the Beatles and has continued to live for 45 years since, sharing the gift of Ringo with the world.

The sheer thrill of arriving in America that first time must have been overwhelming for those four young lads from comparatively dead-end world of Liverpool and the still-drab (but soon to be swinging) London. Yes, George had previously visited America, but to arrive as a band riding an initial burst of success in the UK and the hopeful with the start of their rise this side of the Atlantic must have been surreal, especially in 1964, when commercial air travel was still relatively new and the idea of international fame for a British pop band would be considered unrealistic (a couple years earlier, the Tornados hit #1 in America with 'Telstar' but that was as far as it went for them).
I'm a drummer and think it worth pointing out - because such things are never discussed in interviews like this - that Ringo is revered in the drumming world. True, his playing is very simple and there are no solos to blow the minds of Beatles aficionados. But unlike most pop/rock drummers then (and even today), Ringo's drumming has the five things most important to being a great player in a band context: great feel, deep groove, solid time, authentic swing and relevant creativity. In the Beatles he also understood and accepted his role as well as his position in the hierarchy (something George found difficult to do for himself). Indeed, the drummer in Ringo's band, Greg Bissonette, one of the world's finest, bows to Ringo. So do all the other greats. They all want what Ringo has. Unfortunately for them, they didn't grow up in Liverpool listening to r&b and rock 'n' roll records from America in the late 1950s. And they didn't have the Beatles as a band within which to hone their potential into style and substance. This is why there is only one Ringo. And he is the best Ringo in the world. And damn, he has discovered the elixir of life!
Thank you again for another fine, respectful and enjoyable video. After the Richie Sambora one and now this I will be watching more.
BTW, here is Ringo (plus George Harrison, Ringo Eric Clapton) on Leon Russell's all-star(r) debut album. Ringo's funky New Orleans groove shines throughout.
