When they showed the clip of Liverpool 8 with Ringo singing about Paul, George and John with the videos of The Beatles, it made me feel emotional that he was singing about his friends. What a lovely song.

Ringo sums up how I feel about the UK. I love the UK, but it's for all the reasons I'd never want to go back. I love the hardship, the angry people, the rude shopkeepers, the seriously crappy wages, the hopelessness and the struggle. These things make us British and enable us to live anywhere in the world. Now I go back, see all the signs on everything saying "do not touch, do not remove, do not smoke, this area is under 24hr cctv surveillance" etc... And I'm just happy I don't live there. Also, Brits who haven't left are all suffering from ptsd, but they don't know it. They all walk around looking drugged up, almost in a daze. I've been to ultra first world countries like Singapore and Hong Kong, developing countries like Thailand, and third world countries in Africa. Nowhere in the world is as lifeless as the UK. I think its this that makes Brits great people though. No matter how rich you get, once you step foot outside your home you'll face the drunken hooligan, the aggressive beggar, the immigrants, the rude shopkeepers and you'll have to eat the same shit everyone else eats. It keeps your feet on the ground and doesn't allow for complacency. In the rest of the world you can get rich and never deal with a poor person ever again.
So, Ringo Was asked by Jonathan, "Which do you prefer, living in Liverpool or LA?". Ringo replied: "LA". For that honest reply he was lambasted by some people. LA is sunny, and I would say a much pleasanter place to live than Liverpool.
That's why he's been back twice to Liverpool to apologise. He's an idiot. Who refuses to sign autographs. The luckiest man alive to be in the same area as three musical genius' and have a set of drums. LA is a shit hole full of thieves and drug dealers. I've lived there. It does have the Sun, on that you are correct. Fast skin Cancer.

So the bottom line is... People from Liverpool can't take a joke? So if he slagged off your city? Get over it! If he badmouthed my city, I'd get over it, and go on with my life... loving the guy and his music!
Prox Well, that's his right really. If he thought Liverpool was a shithole during the 1940s and 50s and 60s, that's his right. It doesn't mean he outright hates the place. Dump or not, he still has family and friends there. Not to mention, he probably still has some sentimental feelings for the place, even if it was small, cold and damp where he lived.
Gondarth completely agree, after listening to recent albums by him, you definitely get that sense, in fact besides reminiscing about the Beatles, it's probably the most clear, obvious topic he writes about and it's from the heart
"They named an Airport after John"
"Yeah, and a carousel after me"

+little red rose people need to lighten up hey?
little red rose Watch it again. It's easy to see, scousers would be disappointed in him saying, "No, I don't miss it".
@Nuova Man
You are a thin skinned idiot.
you have a right to your opinion but may i ask you have you ever lived in Liverpool or do you just go by the opinions of others?
Candy looks awesome,i want to see it!

hilarious interview
Still performing at 83. What a giant
i have always thought that he is the cutest Beatle ;) ... though George is my favorite!
same omg ringo is the cutest :)
What a guy..
The interview which made the people of his home city of Liverpool despise him.
So the bottom line is... People from Liverpool can't take a joke? So if he slagged off your city? Get over it! If he badmouthed my city, I'd get over it, and go on with my life... loving the guy and his music!
Think it's just the idea of him not being proud of his HOMEtown.
After 13 years Ringo still looks the same...
