People, get trims, please. Regular trims are actualy helping to maintain and grow healthy hair. You wouldn't have to chop of to much, because you wont have as much split ends. And with a solid wash day routine that meets your hairs needs (no skipping) it will grow faster.

I’ve only ever gotten my ones done on my own to last about a day, so I occasionally let them burn the shit out of it like every 2 years. Thank god I don’t use heat on my head or I would probably be bald with how many times she went over each section with the straightener. Cutting/trimming my hair has become addicting too. It’s a good skill to have.
Some pieces are longer or curlier bc ur hair changes. I have all different textures in my hair even tho I just trimmed mine. I trim it when it’s straight
I trim when my hair is straight as well. I wear my hair curly 90% of the time but I prefer a blunt cut. Also, my curly hair looks a bit different every time so I don’t feel getting a curly cut is a good idea for me.

Hey my love! I adore your channel. I am a cosmetologist and I just wanted to give you a couple tips. I know you’re weary of stylists, but (idk if it’s the same in your country as here) stylists are trained. I went to school for 35 hours a week for 10 months to learn how to cut and then you go in a salon and apprentice to learn even more. The thing with hair is it sits on your round head. So it falls differently every where it sits. It is best to have someone cut your hair who can see the lengths. If you do it yourself, there’s no way to get it truly even or balanced. You can’t see the back of your head. It is also my suggestion that you get it cut professionally straightened, even if you straighten it yourself to save money or save concern of heat damage or whatever. That way you’re just paying for a straight up cut. You’ll retain way more length and see growth results that last.
In cosmetology, when cutting curly hair we’re taught to focus more on the shape than all the hair being the same length and you’re doing exactly that! Looks great Amber, love the curls!
