    • @emailexperts

      Hi Thijmen, assumed gender is just that, assumed. You don't ask for it, Klaviyo just assumes from their first name, you don't need to ask for it.

    I'm curious if I'm doing drag-and-drop HTML email design outside Klaviyo, how do I add this dynamic block?
    Is that tag always the same or I need to log to Klaviyo to get mine?

      A great question. Building the Abandon Cart through HTML is another beast, since it needs to repeat rows down. I’m sorry I can’t be more help, we’re trying to keep the channel lighter and easily accessible for entrepreneurs; but if we run out of content ideas, we might get to it one day.

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @DoeOne, we don't have much experience with dropshipping (our clients are typically D2C brands), and we are really focused on email and marketing, so we don't have much to contribute to this space sorry. Purely from an email perspective, there's very little difference for dropshipping vs D2C, our email videos should be just as relevant.

    Damn, Klaviyo is depressing. Finally created an abandoned cart flow, and when I went to my website, entered all my details, and left a checkout.... IT DIDN'T WORK. Not a single email is received after 10 minutes (which is the time of the first one). Any idea?

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Howard, I’m not exactly sure what the cause of the problem is, but 1, make sure that you submit the first page of the checkout 2, look at your profile within Klaviyo to ensure the “started checkout” event has come through with all of the details of the checkout; this is the data that will drive and populate the abandoned cart email.

    • @emailexperts

      Hi Mitch, yes that's correct. And since they both have "has purchased zero times since starting this flow" as a flow filters, they will stop as soon as the customer buys.

      @@emailexperts well you are missing the explanation on how to actually create an abandoned cart flow, as this is abandoned checkout flow. Basically. I think i great you customize by countries the shipping and purchase policies, that's a great idea to keep an international website with only with 1 klaviyo account !¡!

    • @emailexperts

      1:39, it's called Abandon Cart - we decided to follow Klaviyo's naming method to keep it consistent. Check out the other replies to my comments. After that, let me know if you have any other questions.

    It won't let me integrate to my shopify store, and when I preview my abandoned cart email it doesn't show the product on it what do I do?

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Calum, Klaviyo has been under maintenance over the last day, which could be affecting your ability to integrate. Once it is integrated, the preview will only show checkout data if it is already flowing through on the store. Also make sure you preview from within the email editor to see placeholder data.

    Great video! How do you split based on whether they opened the first email

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Justan, I woiuldn't recommend doing so, because iOS 15 makes open data unreliable. Regardless, if you do, you just make a "Conditional Split" -> "Something someone has or has not done" -> "Opened email zero times since starting this flow".
      Cheers,

    You didn't mention trigger split...what is the functionality of trigger split??

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Adaranijo! The trigger split is only on “Metric triggered” flows, which the abandon cart is one. It’s a split related to the original trigger, so you can split on the *metric’s attributes*. The abandon cart is triggered by “Started Checkout” metric, so you can make splits based on the checkout attributes. For example, you could split based on the checkout value, or specific items in the cart.
      This is different from “Conditional Split” which is a split based on customers past behaviour or *profile* attributes.

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Diviniti, Klaviyo sends them out automatically. However, if you want to send them 1 at a time on your own, you can set the flow to manual. This way, customers will queue up in the flow, and then you can manually initiate the emails.

    How will this flow will know the email adress of the costumer when he just puts the items into the checkout?

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ediz. There's a slight difference between Adding to cart, and Starting a checkout. The abandon cart flow is really an "Abandon *Checkout* Flow". It will only be triggered if someone starts the checkout but doesn't finish, which is where they submit their email address.
      That said, the *browse* abandon does work if you have a Klaviyo cookie on your site. I will explain that in a future video if anyone is interested.

    this is not a abandon cart flow, this is a started checkout flow.

    • @emailexperts
      @emailexperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, you're right. Peter, this TH-cam channel is for beginners and to help brand owners get going rather than getting stuck trying to get it perfect. This video begins (1:26) with the default Klaviyo flow, which Klaviyo calls "Abandon *Cart* Reminder". When we wrote the script, we considered whether we should spend 30-90 seconds explaining the difference between cart, checkout and browse. We decided that it was overly self-serving and anally-retentive and didn't serve the audience and purpose of the video. We decided it was better to keep the naming that Klaviyo uses to keep it simple.
      Looking at the feedback to the video, we made the right choice. But also understand that other anally retentive people like yourself might not be 100% happy.
      If you want to learn the most advanced Klaviyo tactics, check out the Klaviyo academy, this channel might not be for you.
