Best thing about this channel has been seeing Hendry gain more practice and improve again. That opening pot in this was excellent. I really hope he manages that dream of playing at the crucible again.
He would need to quit the alcohol and cigars and get fit for a few years, while practicing at the highest level and unfortunately he's not going to do that. He's been there, done that. It's crazy though the few that doubt him, NEVER forget how good he truly was, he was THEE VERY BEST when he was playing at his prime, 7 WCs in a decade, records broken, nothing left to prove...end of story. Ronnie wants 8, 8, 8. That's why he's still around playing and practicing at the highest level, because he feels like he still has something to prove, just like when Hendry was on 6 with Davis etc. It's those things that drive people. "If" Hendry hadn't hung up his cue and "If" he still had something to prove back then he would have done it, if Davis was on 7, Hendry would have gotten 8, just like what Ronnie is going for just now, but it's taken way longer for Ronnie as everyone integrated Hendrys game and others over time to make it harder, it's just the way it is now, in the future someone will do another Hendry, figure something out to go a level up and will want to beat Ronnies stats, someone who's young and wants to keep playing until they are 50+, nature of the beast. One thing's for sure, "If" Hendry truly wanted to be bk at the top, he could, but from what I can see, all he wants is to just play wherever his mindset is at the time and hopefully hits a wee bit form around that time of the WCs just to get another go at the crucible, whether he goes out 1st round or whatever I don't think he cares, it's just nostalgia for him, memories of a time gone by. 🤔💭 Personally I'd like him to give it a good go for a few years, but honestly it's up to him whether he wants to or not as time is ticking health/memory wise and also other commitments in life etc. One thing's for sure and I've been there and it makes a MASSIVE difference, better health/fitness would be necessary, no wine, cigars etc., 100% concentration like he used to do. They go very well together in the comms box so no suprise I really enjoyed this vid
this is up there with one of the best episodes...
Great video, thanks to all who put it together.
Easily one of the most insightful episodes/interviews yet
Really enjoying this channel. Stephen has everything right. Congrats to him.

Well done on the weight loss Mark
love the insights. "just" a poolplayer but struggle and doctor around with material and technic. doing it now for over 35 years and now after almost 4 years i found the right tip and new shaft/cue combo (my old cue broke) so that suddenly the feel and the confidence came back. so seeing the pro s fiddling around, too comforts me a little bit;))))
Stephen's "Yeah yeah" reminds me of my dad, when I talk to him and he doesn't care what I'm talking about
This is the best Ive seen you play in any of these videos, Stephen. lol. Keep up the good work.
Very much enjoyed this one. Mark is very articulate himself and is quite knowledgeable of the game and it really got me thinking about the game. I’d say he can have the craic as well
I love Marks game, he deserves more tournament wins than he gets, he conentrates on his shot so much that he pulls a face like he's trying to smile around corners.
