Rigoberto Hernandez the arrow should always point towards the intake side of the engine. I’m pretty sure it can be installed wrong but arrow always goes in the direction of the flow from the EGR cooler to the intake manifold. Not sure where you saw the arrow pointing. Let me know, because if I made a mistake I will correct it.
Good evening sir ! I just got a 2009 Century 120 14L dpf deleted but still has the egr can I delete it when it starts to give me problems? For now my mechanic says it works good at 659k miles would it be good to delete the moment she starts having problems? I live in Houston Tx ! Thank you sir !
The good thing about that EGR setup is it inexpensive to replace the part. They are pretty reliable and only cost around $300 to replace when you need to. I would say leave it.
Carlos Diesel Electric Detroit 60, Century 2008, chk engine light is sometimes on sometimes off, but loss of power is all the time plus I can feel engine shaking when i reach 9th..10th gear... While idling...everything looks ok whit rpm needle and runs ok I would say... Filters are clean and air intake hoses are new...but that code SID248 FMI 14 is area to look at...
Paša Dozic have you had someone check the Intake Throttle Valve? If the valve is closing instead of opening it can cause a loss of power. Have someone connect their Diagnostic Link and see how it responds.

The first style EGR valve is for the first type of 14L that came out around 2004-2007 and that EGR valve is located on the passenger side around the turbo which is very expensive. Then when EPA07 (clean air emissions) came out which was late 2007-2009, it was still 14L but the EGR valve is on the driver side near the Intake Throttle Valve That EGR valve is much cheaper.
I don’t believe the 12.7 has an EGR valve. The EGR valve started on the 14L engines. But for the 2006 I don’t believe or have heard of a block plate. I know that is t much help. But thanks for the compliment.

Carlos Diesel Electric a mechanic around my area did the programming and after that i feel that lost power and he said that he did everything good, i feel he was mad because he did not do the job, do you thing if a look for a good programmer it will get fix.
Oscar Luis Cruz Diaz hard to say, could be a smaller turbo, but it could be because you went from a turbo assembly that was controlled by the ECM is now working like the old style turbo. The old style turbo will have some lagging, I am assuming you are talking about boost.
@@CarlosDieselElectric I had my egr all removed from my 05 14l. My tuner and mechanic did the 12.7 swap new gen garret turbo and my God this truck rapes apes. He did a valve adjustment to his specs an a n3 injector hack that some don’t know about. My truck was overhauled 78k ago and my turbo was original in the truck. I haul 84 of frack sand daily.. and it never had balls up hills in this 515hp 60 series.. now… the truck not even in the same league

What year is your truck? Also, which engine do you have? The Series 60 or the DD15? is the a check engine light on when it does this?

EGR Valve runs about $350-$450, and does need new seals. Labor is about 1-2 hours, that should be start to finish.

I don’t believe the 12.7 has an EGR valve. The EGR valve started on the 14L engines. But for the 2006 I don’t believe or have heard of a block plate. I know that is t much help. But thanks for the compliment.

The EGR valve is self calibrated when you cycle the ignition on.

The egr valve just needed cleaning
That is always an option, I usually just go with replacement depending on the age, fault code and the fault count.
This is not 14L its 12,7
