- Hey friends. Finally, Matt the drummer gets to hear an actual The Warning song vs. just a gear run through. We've heard from you guys that "More" may not be the best song, and will have him react to ANOTHER song later in June. In the meantime, please enjoy!! ➜ Be sure to stick around until the end for analysis and commentary. ➜ PS: the original performance (sans reaction) is linked below should you get tired of us talking...but we hope not!! ✌🏽❤️🥷🏻

MTV - “No we were not!”
Narrator Morgan Freeman: “MTV was indeed not ready for MORE”
Still looking for the roof.....

MTV - "Ho hum, three chicks and they'll be autotuned and lip synced. Ok, let 'em play. HOLY SHIT".
Their roof - *_chuckles_* "I'm in danger"
Anyone that thinks that Dany, Pau, and Ale would be pushed into doing something that they did not want to do in regard to their music doesn’t know them very well. They have said multiple times they are always learning, looking for new ways to do things. I for one love watching their evolution.
Well said!
You mean you love watching them "Evolve"? Sorry, I'll leave now.

Everyone always acknowledges their writing, but are so blown away by their other skills they forget.
I think these three sisters are currently the best writers on the planet.
There's a video of theirs after the performance, and the MTV stage manager finds them backstage and says, "Holy shit! I wasn't ready for that."
I love Ale's backing vocals on this performance ...
Meeeeee too!! ❤️🥷
Their newer stuff is what drew me in.
Following the artist I do for over 12 years , there will always be a section of the fan base who resist change & evolution’.
people need to understand, creatives, REAL creatives, follow what inspires them, what excites them. It’s a journey of discovery for them, what else can we do?
When they’re “forced” to be something they’re not is when they lose their way, lose their enthusiasm for their craft.
The Warning clearly love doing what they were born to do, let them follow their instincts and enjoy the ride, peace ✌🏻
Love the old stuff, love the new stuff. The new stuff has a maturity that they have been building for a decade and it really shows and it's why I don't go running away every time they try a a new style. Shame on anyone who does.
You are ABSOLUTELY right. Some people would rather stay frozen at the point when they created their first works (there are even folks who complained about the "dark" change when they released QotMS!!!) and are reluctant to accept that The Warning are no longer who they were then, and neither is their music. The ladies have grown, personally and artistically, and that is reflected in their work...and my god, how it reflects.
Keep Me Fed (what we already know, what we will know this Friday and the snippets of what we will know in the release) is just insane.
@@Superbio I’m really excited for Keep Me Fed. I feel I joined up just at the right time, not only they’re evolving, their media team is ++ , so much to binge, reactions AND cherry on top?
I thought I might have to travel to see The Warning live for the first time, but days after I joined their Patreon I happened to come across someone asking about their Seattle show, a show that’s not even listed in their tour schedule, THEN I found a password for early tickets two days before public release, got myself front row VIP tickets, and the show is only an hour from my house, 3 days before my birthday!
Really feels like I was meant to discover them, and now get to absorb the full live effect from the front row (plus an vip acoustic The Warning performance 😃)
That's the thing, some even go to the lengths of claiming that they were forced to do things on this album, meanwhile the producer Anton DeLost mentioned that he had to tell them to tone down the distortion a bit in some parts of this album, because even he thought it was a bit much, so much for "they'd never do this or that", it's baffling how they call themselves fans of the band, but they don't know the first thing about them, let alone that some of their favorite sounds and bands are like Muse and more recently, Dead Poet Society, who use a lot of distortion and similar effects. I feel a strong influence from DPS on certain unreleased songs.
@@FrankyPi I wonder what the “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” Beatles fans thought about “Oh Darling” or “Lucy in the Skies With Diamonds” or “Get Back”🙃
I agree in that I really love the newer songs, it really shows The Warning are not content to stay in one place and are willing to take risks to Evolve!
Exactamente!
I love their old stuff but I'm fine with them growing and evolving. Great reaction.
Pau is the Queen of the Tom-Fills.
They are a signed hard rock band making their way in a pop world. They are doing it very competently. Sick made it to 12 or better on Billboard.
When a book is written about them, it will be required reading for any young band trying to get started in the modern music scene.
@@abugewww8013 I was thinking it would make a great movie.
I just heard Sick in my local gym in Dallas!! Not my favorite song but still happy to hear it.
Their evolution is inevitable when you factor in their love of music and the variety of genres in their own playlists. I love and can’t wait for all the new stuff. 🤘🤘
Totally!
What you’re referring to as “electronics” is Dany on her Fender Baritone 6-string. An effect she’s proud of adding.
Everything added is played by them. Background vocals, guitar licks etc. No MP3 Audio file from some audio library, as their haters would want you to believe.
There are a few exceptions of that, like some of the accompanying instruments in Crimson Queen are taken from a library, because they thought it sounded very pretty so they added that.
@@FrankyPi please reference source
I don't mind the electronics and more ptoduced sound.. As long as the bass doesn't get buried in the mix. I love that the bass is prominent in the mix
welcome to our new friend, Matt but give also a kiss to our jillian we're waiting for her! 😉
I'm here, I'm here!! And I miss you guys!!! I'll be back next WARNING WEDNESDAY, promise!! ❤🥷🏻
Welcome to The Warning Army and the best musical journey you never know existed.
Greetings from México. ❤️🇲🇽
Please direct him to the Teatro Metropolitan concert.
Oh yeah! This!
The Warning have "EVOLVED" and are even more Awesomenerrrrr.. 💥🌘🌖🌗💥 S!CK🤯🤯🪰🪰🏍️🏍️🏍️
Spot on. They are evolving and will keep evolving as they grow as musicians. They will always remain true to themselves and nobody can force them into being something that they are not comfortable with. These ladies are powerhouses! Thanks for your reaction and support of this amazing band.
The Warning!! 🔥 🤘
New song Burnout premiers this Friday. Can't wait.
Nothing wrong with "More". But for a drummer some other songs are (potentially) even more impressive: "23", "Narcisista" or "Dust to Dust". Ah well... and the rest, just for her drumming chops 🤣 🤘
So true...Pau not getting much show here in this song....there are many many better one to feature Pau...I would add Evolve, Auto Sun, HYCAD....well many more.
@@CarlD70 We'll get it right, promise!!! Just need about a month...moving to AZ and will more access to Matt!!
@musikbyjh I know you will...just throwing out ideas...good luck with move.
I've got a fever! And the only prescription, is more PauBell!
Love it!!!
Hahahahahahaha
Funny you mention Mastodon, WVH says he loves the warning. There is a video with him and Nina Strauss praising DPA. 🔥⚡️🤟⚡️🔥
Love to hear that. WVH is also writing and performing some of the best rock music along with The Warning.
I think it's unrealistic to expect their sound to stay exactly the same from album to album. They're young and still maturing as individuals and performers, and they have a self-professed desire to keep learning new things. That's simply outstanding! I love what they've produced so far, and I trust them to keep making great music.
Definitely miss Ninja but love having your drummer on too. I love having people like you two who have lots of experience in music react to The Warning. You bring alot of perspective that most of us not in the music industry like to here. Please keep your drummer coming back for more The Warning reactions 🎸🤘🏻.
All I got is fantastic they are great can't wait to see them live 😊
Same here!
Ale voice here is to die for! 😍
I'm into their new stuff. No problem with this phase of experimentation and evolution. Thanks for bringing in Matt on this!
Waiting a week for this was harsh lol glad he's been warned 🤘🤘
Dany's badass swagger at the end like she just knocked out an opponent in two minutes with one punch and was walking back to her corner.
Alright, a new addition to army. The Warning Army + 1 Today was a good day.
The new album is them experimenting with their sound. None of their previous albums sound the same because they are always looking for something new to do. Any artist can do the same album 5 times but where is the fun in that?
It worked for ACDC, but very few exceptions exist like that. TW have never been that type of band, always been exploring and learning, and they're not stopping now.
I love all of their music. It's great they are so diverse. There are great songs on every album.
Some fan's talk about The Warnings "old stuff" like it's decades old. I mean the LP ERROR was released not that long ago. Sure there are great older songs from 20th Century Blood & Queen of The Murder Scene, those songs are still a big part of their live shows. IMO some of their new stuff rocks even harder. You reacted to the new song Automatic Sun, it's downright dirty. Their still so young let them "Evolve"
Great way of explaining the band’s evolution!!👏⚡️
I've been following these gals for a long time, and personally, I love the fact that they're more than willing to throw new stuff out to see if it sticks. I didn't care too much for 'More' when it first came out, but it grows on you, and that PauBell seals the deal!🐮😄 🤘😎🤘 Thanks for the cool breakdown you guys!🤩👍👍
Thanks for the nice comment, Dan. Appreciate you!
Been following them just for a month and a half, and I love this New álbum sound, yes, they're evolving, as artists and persons...
This is the one thing that some fans do not catch, doing always the same for the sake of just please someone is to kill yourself as an artist.
Very true.
@@musikbyjh yep... I tinhk we can't expect this girls (or anyone) stays the same, as much as we love their music... I learned this with Metallica, whom I listen to since late 80's at age 12.... It's a journey, a discovery and a life trip we are witnsessing.
Welcome to TWA. The Rolling Stones would be the exception. I saw their recent setlist the other day. Every song on it was at least 40-60 years old. lol I can't imagine doing the same 15 songs for that many years, but they do it. I love The Warning's experimentation too.
Exactly, pandering to the audience is the biggest mistake an artist can make, even David Bowie talked about this.
@@abugewww8013 thanks for the welcome!!!! Well, The Stones are so -respectfully- old, that everything seems the same, but if you watch every decade since, they put elements of each tiem in their music, 60's got psychodelic and asian vibes, the 70's got some Disco moves with Hot Stuff... the 80's was stained with the glam and some drops of punk-esque sounds, 90's bring an alternative aura to their music, even thouh their core remains rock+bluesy all along.
Anyway, all this just to say that I love las Wawas and I'm enjoying their musical development!!! Cheers!!!
I'm fine with them doing what they want, but personally do I prefer it when their vocals are less processed than we find on some of the newer releases. For example, I thought _Hell_ _You_ _Call_ _a_ _Dream_ was a good song, but nothing special for them, they always do good songs. Then, when I heard the live version, it leapt up into the stratosphere. Anyway, good to see Matt enjoying himself - welcome to the army! And definitely do this again with Jillian if she's not already seen it!
I find that the music grows on me, the very early stuff from the Warning was interesting but not playlist stuff for me until I knew enough about them to appreciate being able to watch them grow. New songs to this day from the band tend to become stuck in my head more after a few listens.
Agreed. Their voices have really grown as well in addition to their writing. I like the songs on XXICB but their voices are so young and have changed so much since then that I find it hard to listen to the album cuts. Later live versions hold up better with their adult voices. QoTMS is the turning point where imo pretty much all of the album holds up well and they are old enough where the voices sound right for the music. Other than a few minors production critiques, that album gets pretty much no notes from me.
Bring back Matt for Automatic Sun!
Jeremy, it's not a cowbell, it's a "Pau-bell" 🤣
As far as the Matt and beautiful... I think we discussed this last week. 😁
You gotta have Matt here when you get to "Dust To Dust" (played at Teatro Metropolitan 2022), want to see his reaction when he sees Pau singing lead. 🤘🤘.
Monthly Spotify listeners for The Warning has been trending slowly downward, and is hovering a bit above 907K. The new album will stop the slow slide. Let's get them over 1 million.
You should have him react to Pau's duet with Faith Benson on Drum Channel.
Why they haven't had more attention in the USA, I don't understand. They're blowing up now. A year from now, they should be headlining some major venues. *Keep Me Fed* is going to be big. *Burnout* drops 05/18/2024.
So excited!!!
They’re playing in Japan with Band Maid next month- genius move- are setting themselves up for world domination will probably promote Keep Me Fed in US next year
Glad you brought Matt back for a live song. Appreciate that!
Yes its TW wednesday!! Cheers!
Hey Jeremy! Awesome to introduce Matt to The Warning Army! Let him listen to some more of TW!
As for the mixed feelings. Well, the last album, "Error" was produced by David Bendeth, and he finally captured their amazing live sound in the studio. Most of us were hoping for more of the same. The sisters are young and still experimenting with new sound, so they did songwriting sessions with some songwriters and producers and liked Anton DeLost. But, he really added a lot of synth tracks and vocal effects, that many of us think takes away the greatness of their raw Power Trio sound. However, we don't know how much of the idea was Dany, Pau and Ale or the producer(s) or the record label, pushing for this change. Maybe it is an attempt to broaden their audience. But, as long as Dany, Pau and Ale are good with it, we should welcome them experimenting. The one thing I think they may be doing wrong is some logo rebranding on the new album. Their original logo is awesome and the new one, not so much. And a band that is building a following should stay consistent with their branding until they are well know. Just my opinion. I hope it is just for this album, to fit the cover and not a total rebrand, because the new logo is not great IMHO, it looks like a logo for a prog/goth metal band (Nightwishy, if you will) .
I think they are testing the new logo to see how it feels, if people like it they might continue with it going forward and if people don't like it it stays as the font for this album.
I actually have been hoping for years that they would redesign their logo, they need a good graphic designer to redo their logo. Rudy's company Creative Dreams did their logo and imo opinion as a graphic designer it lacks punch, I really hate the W connecting to the THE and THE is too big... it needs a total redo by someone good.
The have great people working for them in most other areas but they have not found a great graphic design person/team to do they logo and they merchandise design.
This was a one off show that didn’t coincide with a tour so they rented a drum kit. It’s way too expensive to fly her whole kit there to play two songs.
3:34 Ironically these electronics were done on guitar. Dany likes to experiment. Electronics really wasn't the problem for some in the newer stuff, it's the extra compression and effects, which we all pretty much got used to ;)
Welcome back, thanks again! 🤘🤘🤘
This is great, and a great song to introduce Matt to The Warning. But show him "Evolve" also where Pau shines even more. Then introduce him to some of the songs from their Aug 2022 concert at the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, especially "Disciple", "Dust to Dust" and "23", which showcase Pau's drumming and singing. For me, though, the show's opening with "Z" just gets my rock and roll heart pumped up every time. "Choke" is a lot of fun, too, with a wonderful, if short, solo by Ale. Actually, all the show's songs are good in their own way.
We will be looking forward to seeing "More" Ninja. Well at least seeing Ninja react to more. She will love Ale singing. . Until next time. 🤟
Glad Matt got to see them! They have said they just love making music so you'll often hear different types of music across one album. They're young and love experimenting. This album is the first time they have written with other people that are not each other so it has some different flavors as well. I love that they love experimenting with their sound. Can't wait to see you guys introduce Matt to some of their other stuff! Welcome to The Warning Army Matt!
Thank you!
Perdonally, if The Warning decided to do a full western music album i would support their decision regardless if i ended up liking it or not.
Gotta love Fanboys. Love to see your love for the Warning!👯♀️⚡️🇲🇽
Gotta show him some more typical The Warning songs as well. This one is a bit of an odd one out even among the new tracks after all 😊
So cool, it would be great if you could do more Pau-centric stuff with Matt!
They have said that they are always looking for new things they can do with their music. I love everything they have done, but there are songs I like more than others. IMO they have never written a bad song. Their new single "Burnout" drops this Friday, May 17, probably at midnight and there will be watch parties (as usual). You guys should do a live stream of it.
They're so freaking good. I love all their music and I'm glad they mix up their sound. I think every song they've done is awesome.
Disciple, live at Teatro Metropólitan. Show him that video. It's some of Pau's best drum work, and he can see her vocals too!
I love that they're making the music *they* want to make. They're clearly having fun with it, experimenting, expanding, and *growing* as artists. Good artists evolve; they're not static. Static is *boring*, which is something the Warning has never been, and I highly doubt ever will be.
MORE!
i am surprised you didn't show him a song with Pau singing?
In case nobody else mentions it...
The Warning became a band in 2013.
The Warning's TH-cam history pretty much begins with their cover of Enter Sandman in 2014 when they were 14, 12 and 9 years old. The performance was intended to show their grandparents how much they had advanced as a band but the file was too large to email. That video went viral, much to their surprise.
They were already well on their way musically, and the response to Enter Sandman encouraged them to continue and to set their sights on a career. They released an EP of six original songs in 2015 (Escape the Mind).
And that is just the beginning of the story...
live is ALWAYS better...
🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love all everything they do, if it sounds good, that's all I need.
Pau was playing a loaner/rental kit for this 2 song gig, so no Bon-Bon (marshmallow). Enjoyed your reaction! 😎👍
🤘🤘🤘
Los temas de The Waring es un rock clásico mezclado con moderno, sus riffs son pegajosos entre mas los escuchas mas te gustan y se pegan en tu cabeza como MORE tremendo rock and roll
I'm really flexible as a listener, so I do like all their new stuff. Their newest release will be on Friday, the 17th, also known as "Dany Day", Saturday is Pau Day, and Sunday is Ale Day, which Dave Ellefson (formerly) of Megadeath said on IG is "the best day." 😊.
Why not have Ninja and Matt together?
More is one of the songs coming on their new album, which is going to be released in full 28 o0f june. I liked the song from the start, bus as you said some fans didn´t like it "oh they have goon pop", they said. With the rest of the songs on the upcoming album they really show they did not go pop. They are going The Warning, like I knew they would do. This Friday they release song/s to. "Burnout" for sure, there are rumors there is going to be one more. I am looking forward to having The Warning deliver many more bangers, theu are the best.
Yes, they are experimenting with their writing and their sound. They’ve told us that already.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to TWA. Every one of their previous albums have been completely different from the last. That’s how a good band grows.
Keep Me Fed may go down as a colossal failure or it could be the album that breaks them into the mainstream rock audience, especially in the US.
They’re always gonna give us bangers like HYCAD and AS and likely others but the songs in between will be the experiment.
Their strategy seems to be paying off as S!CK is currently sitting at #12 on Billboards Mainstream Rock chart and may break into the top 10.
TW are very aware of the difference between a studio version and a live version of a song.
All the studio production is likely meant to draw in the casual rock fan or fans from other genres but they know that the live performances will bring out the rock essence of their songs and overshadow any other minutia.
It’s the best of both worlds really. Jazz up the studio version then rip your lips off with the live version.
The Warning will not be pigeonholed. If they write a polka it’s gonna be the best damn polka you ever heard ! Rock on ladies I’m here for it. 🤘⚡️🤘
I love this one. Dany sounded “raw” in this and Ale’s harmonies were so good. Pau’s cowbell was unique and really worked! I say let’s let Matt into the Warning Army WHEN you bring Jillian back. Don’t take her away from all of us! You two are so in tune with each other when it comes down to the mechanics of a song. I think it’s great that you work together, especially since you’re using his studio! He’s very gracious to share. I hope that your move is going well and that you’re able to settle in quickly. ‘Til next time! 🎶 Cyd
I will keep supporting them even though this new stuff is exactly why I stopped listening to rock music starting in the 90s. The good news is that whatever comes after this album will be different.
.
Came just to watch MORE live, but you guys are cool too.
.
Welcome to TWA, Matt. Really nice reaction and great to get Matt’s fresh perspective on TW! Nice takes. Hey, we’re okay if you react with Matt on songs you and Jillian had reviewed already - a couple of cool older songs played at the Teatro Metropolitan would be Ugh and Dull Knives…or Dust to Dust…or Disciple…or Z to name a few.
New song drops tomorrow, May 17! "Burnout!"
The Warning...Fantastic Band
Welcome Matt to the army. Always good to hear another perspective, especially from a musician. The tom fill with the cowbell was the drum highlight in that song. Cool to see her do it live, but unfortunately, the MTV cameras never really caught how she does it here. As a funny side note, there is at least one video floating around of a TW sound check, where Pau used the cowbell to hold a box of french fries she was snacking on. 🙂
More paubell! ⚡⚡⚡
Excellent my friends...excellent
2 points for me to make. 1- They are stretching their creativity and utilising their growing skillsets and knowledge. (Their idols, Muse, changed sounds from album to album also) 2- The fuller sound they are creating on KMF comes at a time when they are being acknowledged by mainstream TV and streaming services and will attract many more fans
I love The Warning's new music, of course, but I'm grounded in, Queen Of The Murder Scene!
Hell yes. I love it. I've been listening to fuzzed out slabs of sonic mayhem for decades but still enjoy Gordon Lightfoot. I have zero understanding as to all the kerfuffle over the use of distortion, compression, whatever, I just can't get my head around why it's a problem.
Cool reaction, thanks guys! 🤘👍
"They go through an evolution period" Hmm I see a new reaction coming up.
The Warning live Jimmy Kimmel next week I can’t wait ❤
I'm one of those that is resistant to change and the first time I heard The Warning's new music, I didn't like it. After several listens, however, I am a big fan of the new songs! Look for their new song, "Burnout", to be released in about 30 hours!
Hell yeah!! Thanks for the heads up!!
Yeah, the Pau-bell gets them every time.
For me, MORE is Muse meets No Doubt (and the OMV is totally Deee-Lite). This is one of my favorites form the new album. I think that the drum groove Pau has going during the verse is something Nile Rodgers could have put a Chic groove on top of 40 years ago.
Great reaction. You need ro show him XXI century blood. Official video(award winning) and Dust to Dust from Teatro Metropolitan. And how PAU shines in Narcissista from teatro.❤❤❤THE WARNING❤❤❤PAU
🤘
You guys hit on some important points and without constantly fishing for words. Good job.
Thank you kindly!
Great reaction. I like a lot of your content. Especially The Warning, Band-Maid and a few others.
What I can’t believe that’s missing is Jinjer which is a band of incredible musicians fronted by the metal goddess Tatiana. Most reactors start with “Pisces” live session but “Perennial” live at Wacken Open Air 2019 or the OMV for “Teacher Teacher” are also good songs to jump in with.
Just a word of caution, before any of you fall in love with our goddess, the line is very long already.😍
Thanks for watching. Jinjer is likely missing from the channel because we have been fans for a long time and are already familiar with all their music. Fantastic band, good call out!
⚡️
If anything, this new sound the ladies are experimenting with is a good way to separate the true fans who are curious to see where The Warning will go next from the people who are fans only as long as they stay in a box and never change or progress. I'm reminded of what Dany said in that TEDx talk all those years ago: "One of the most important things to us is to stay true to ourselves and what we want to do as musicians...[music is] art, and it's OUR creative output." People need to keep that in mind when whinging about the creative direction the Villarreal sisters decide to go in. If members of TWA want to go AWOL over a change in sound, then they need not let the door hit 'em on the way out.
Dany was born in 2000, Pau is two years younger, Ale another three. It's not difficult to remember and calculate.
They had also used backtracks before. Only three players are not enough. But the producer from Label Lava then reached deep into his bag of tricks. He has the experience to make the band sound even better. That's why you need producers.
Great Reaction 🎬🤘⚡🤘 RORH
There’s always going to be someone who don’t like anything new (there were some who didn’t like the masterpiece Queen of the Murder Scene🤔). DPA are always evolving & trying new ideas. Pau recently said she wants to explore some funk. Well she definitely got her funk on with this one! I’m head banging in my dragula all the way thru🫨
It's good to see Matt again, but I do miss Jillian.
Awww my friend!! I'll be back next Wednesday, promise!!
@@musikbyjh Looking forward to it already. :)
