Instead of powering the Pocket Operators from the wall directly, they can be run for many hours from super capacitors installed in the same place the batteries go. I've been working on a docking bay where you can just set the PO on the bay for a few seconds and get a cap charge for a multi hour session using super caps. If anyone is interested how this works, I could make a video when I finish the project. Does anyone desires this?
Hey man, this sounds interesting to me. I know their are contact points above the battery on the PO, I've seen people solder wires to them and power the unit directly without any batteries. So you're saying that you wanna make a touch based surface to wireless charge them? I could implement that into my lazy susan spinning/rotating disc that I've got my 6 pocket operators tilted toward the middle. This way I can spin them around and access each one from the front view. I hope that made sense, it's hard to describe lol
@@ghost_in_the_robot Yes, I've been working on making a charging mat that can nearly instantaneously charge up a bank of super capacitors that would then allow the PO to run for a session. ive noticed if you can isolate the punch in FX to the sound you want repeated like the "whats good" sample insted of using multiple step locations it can reduce the choking of sample playback quite a lot. it can get tricky but you find a more dynamic strategy with sample save slot location and exactly which fx button is used for a live write that is layered onto still. for example it seems easier to isolate the repeat FX when the sample is in drums, it seems more able to repeat just that one sample while letting the others play more often. i have been able to remove steps but just used fx to repeat them in a live write scenario that is saved to the pattern. it seems to be a smaller request for the PO despite the audio output being fuller. less steps and careful FX writing in the patterns go a long way here.
