Why everyone says that melodic channels are chromatic? Actually they have two octaves of diatonic scale with a harmonic note to play live. No live-playable chromatics there. To make a fully chromatic scale you can put 12 samples of 12 notes into a one drum channel. To spend less storage time but make these notes longer -- pitch 'em octave up before loading, and then pitch 'em back on the PO33.
Love the PO. Ever since i got one its became my go to whenever I want to make a quick track. Needless to say I already released 4 albums done with the PO33 🤣

@@dakotamaack3438 thank you. Glad you enjoy the album. Alot can be done with the po33 just have to think a little outside of the box when creating tracks on it. Its become my go to sampler. It gets easier the more you use it and learn the device.

I have sold PO33 for KOALA sampler on my phone that is advenced yet simple sampler. The thing is that I have not use this as often as a POKO. There is something fun n addictive in POKO that want me to play, sample, chop and loop those sounds. Bought POKO again :)
u can also use it with synced in Koala and have POKOKo:)

@@Two-Eyed_Boy it blows my mind everytime I pick it up. That something, like this can be soooo small but so effective. When I'm 80 years old, I'll probably be talking about po's and have them in my collection. What a crazy little unique thing. Brings out a certain creativity that's hard to get in other places. It feels like a club because not too many people mess with them or jus has gotten over them. But I can't. Lookin to buy the speak next.

A great little device i got one a week ago and going to get another as a spare that i can sync up time to time
I use mine constantly. Tons of expensive gear in my studio but I can't seem to leave this little thing alone.

The Sync modes were a part I was having some trouble with.

So, if the KO is a sampler, which is better, the KO or the Voice and why? *Is* there a better between the two?
When I sample on my po133 using the line input the sample is always quite how do I get to sound louder without the sample getting distorted and still being quite
I've had a PO33 for like 3 years now and I've never manually edited the pitch in the step sequencer with the knobs, I've always just live performed it. No idea you could do that....

how in the world did you manage to get the po33 as loud as the bastl drum?!!? without any mixer or attenuator cable?! hell, i just tried tonight a little session and the bastl just blew the po33 against the wall, it was just soooo powerful and much louder. i have to try to max out the volumes of the samples, but boy....hard...very hard... the po12 is, beneath the sub, imho the loudest pocket operator and is a good compagnion for the bastls, ....but with the po33, i have my problems :/
OK, after watching this and 2 other videos, I still don‘t get one thing done: How do I get parameter locks of anything but length and pitch into a certain step in the sequencer? I go there, hit FX until I see filter, have the sequencer position pressed and move the knob but either it changes nothing or switches back to pitch/length. Is filter edit only possible BEFORE hitting the step in the sequence to put it there?
You press the button you want to play. Change the parameters (like filter etc), then press the button again. Now enter step editing and press one of the steps. This step now carries all the info (pitch, filter, etc.)
When I record into my p.o. the sample sounds distorted and just plain bad. Am I doing something wrong?

When using the record button it gives a countdown as to how many seconds of sampling time are left.
So how would I wipe the recordings, so that it goes back to 40 available seconds ?
hold [record] and press [sound] to delete the currently selected sound. - you'll have to do this for each of the 16 sample slots, be careful !!

I‘ve read the manual many times when this was new. Is that sound length and changing sound stuff that was there from the start? Don‘t remember these abilities.
Edit: rechecked. Oh man was that small manual page full of stuff I didn‘t even understand the basics of at the time (like parameter locks). Thanks for rekindling my interest!

How do yall record your PO's into DAW's? Curious
I use a cable from my po to audio interface, think it's called a stereo to dual mono Y splitter cable. About £10 0n Amazon. Absolute godsend mate.
@@ElectronicChateau do you think its worthwhile to track it all out? I been bouncing sequences and deletings tracks so I can have versions of the sequence ive made with a "solo'd" track....its time consuming and kinda deterring after awhile.

what they dont tell you is that if you use over 150 they triple the effect
There is no such thing as 'transient analysis' on the PO33, it just splits the audio in 16 identical bits (that can be manually adjusted).
on the melodic tracks yes, but if you record to the drum / rhythmic tracks it does perform a rudimentary sort of transient snapping - i believe it looks for zero crossing points after gain spikes to set an endpoint and a sort of onset detector for the start.
recording a sample to the melodic / rhythmic tracks will yield different results, and recording to the melodic and then copying to rhythmic will yield a linearly sliced kit! - very useful!
but dont take my word for it, give it a whirl!
@@PerfectCircuit I must disagree. This transient thing is just a myth and it is easily debunked. Just hit REC and sample yourself saying "1-2-3-4" in clear staccato, on any drum/rythm bank: if there was any transient analysis you should get each number loud and clear on pads 1 to 4 and silence on all other pads. Instead of 'rudimentary sort of' detecting transients the PO33 just slices the audio in 16 identical parts that are then laid down to the 16 pads, so basically you have your audio for 'one' sliced across pads 1 to 4, and so on... This is not to diss the PO33 (that I really like a lot BTW!) it is only to correct a wrong perception and avoid people having these kinds of expectations. Even the OP1 doesn't have transient recognition and does exactly the same basic slice job as the PO33, and AFAIK all samplers that do have transient slicing actually don't make a very good job at it anyhow (think MPC1000/JJ, MPC4000, Polyend Tracker...), so why would anyone expect to have this feature in such a cheap and simple device as the PO33?
