I was a Lindy Hop (a kind of swing dance) teacher for the 9ish years prior to covidtimes, and I used to recommend my students do this kinda thing in addition to their lessons- especially to non-swing music. Learning to be happy and dance is a wonderful way to gain confidence, take yourself less seriously, and learn to enjoy moving before getting in your head about how to move... Of course, when it's safe I'd always recommend going social dancing (any style)! But this was very cool that you did this, I totally get that it was challenging, but I'm glad it brought at least some smiles to your faces! :)
Every morning I start my teaching day blasting cheesy 80s or 70s music to my students and dance frenetically... I am a French teacher, definitely not a Dance teacher. But just those 10 minutes of dancing and bopping gives me energy to deal with those imbecil..IMEANSTUDENS!!
I actually dance a lot with my girlfriend, and most of the time it hapends wile cooking! I think it's normal to don't want to dance because of the lack of purpose of the task. For us, is an escape to doing something tedious, and it does help to finish the day on a high note
Dancing is actually my favorite thing and this made me extra happy. I spent a lot of time in college ballroom dancing and it was truly some of the best days of my life! If you ever decide to take up ballroom dancing, there's a fantastic scene for it in Chicago!
I used to do dancing time with my kids every day before dinner, it was so cool and we felt really happy with it. Then we had problems with the neighbours and, even though they weren't caused by the dancing, things are really tense right now and we don't want to push it. If all goes well, we're moving next summer and I hope we can go back to our old routine.
Dancing while doing things counts! I dance everyday with my 4 year old, and it's less of a planned activity and more of an opportunity we seize whenever it feels good. The kid is autistic and really teaches us a lot about how to use dance as a way to self- and co-regulate. We use dance to stretch, play, and generally break up the day. It's really organic so long as there's a lull you can create in your day to put on some music and "putz", as my mom would say. It's a delightful addition to the mental/physical health toolkit.

I grew up doing ballet and figure skating. Then in my 20s I dabbled in swing dancing. I really want to get back into lindy hop but the pandemic has thrown a wrench in those plans. What I loved most about lindy hop was the spontaneity, the laughter and the liveliness. Since I can't do lindy hop, I've been doing cardio hip hop type classes (a bit more challenging moves than zumba). I've discovered that the only way I can get myself to exercise is if it's entirely, 100% fun. And for me, dancing fits that bill like no other exercise does. But at the same time, I do see dancing as very social, so I struggle to dance when I'm on my own in my apartment. That and my neighbors below hate it. This has been a very meandering comment, so in conclusion, what I love most about dancing is getting so wrapped up into the music and feeling confident in my body that I don't notice how hard I'm working and I stop stressing about my life--it's almost meditative.
Lindy hop is such a goofy, happy, social dance. I've only done a bit of it but it's so much fun! And the thing you said at the end is the best, especially when you've been dancing for a while and the steps feel the same as walking
Ok I don't know where you live, but I'm a swing dancer, and the dances are opening up again! I'm in Michigan, and I've gotten to go to two different groups this past summer. I believe at least one of them will continue through the cold months indoors (Grand Rapids Original Swing Society, or playfully, GROSS)
I, at one point, very briefly, heaved joyful tears watching this. So thanks. You all did awesome. I’m not sure if I want to try this challenge with my husband or not but, I’m gonna consider it.
This is the sweetest 30-day challenge you’ve done! You two seemed so happy! It was fun seeing Nataly & Jack participate in a challenge again. I was first introduced to them on your channel and ran into them a couple of months ago (while I coincidentally had one of their songs replaying in my head for days haha)!
This was really precious! I'm a belly dancer so I dance most days either for classes or rehearsals or just for fun! Before I began performing though, I still loved dancing and one of my favorite things in the world is to go out and see live music and just dance! Also my bf and I do stupid dances a lot just to make each other laugh. I think it's so good for the soul!
Damn, I remember i use to dance every other day in my tiny room when I was a teen thinking « I’ll totally dance every day in my living room when I’ll get my appartement » now that I rent said apparement i dance every other day in my tiny kitchen thinking « man I’d dance every day if I had more space » It’s time for a change, thanks guys
I feel like Ida will remember this the rest of her life. It's just a strong visual to carry with you--your parents dancing, singing, and joking together. Even if it's just a vague memory of joy and a faded image. Very cute video.
Dancing like nobody was watching was the #1 thing that helped me through my quarantine depression! I really have felt awkward in my body my whole life, and I’m so glad I took that time alone to change that. It’s made me more aware of my posture and everything, I encourage anyone with anxiety / depression to just wiggle it out! Stimulate that vagus nerve!
As someone who has dances basically her whole life: I love dancing, but I rarely ever do it just at home for no reason. But I loooove dancing while doing household chores -cooking, Cleaning, doing laundry, tidying up.... It's so much more fun that way.
I love dancing right before I jump in the shower. It’s the perfect time to dance to upbeat music, work up a sweat, then take a nice shower. I sleep so well! Great video BTW! 😃
Best month challenge for me so far ! I loved everything about that video from the singing, the dancing, non-dancing, cute interactions with your friends and daughter... now I just want to do the same :) I'm a dancer (ballroom and for fun ^^) but I have a rough path physically and mentally right now, your vid makes me want incorporate more dance in my life, in any shape it will take, even if I not up for it..! Thank you, have a great day !
1. Love how cute you and Chyna are together. 2. Love that Chyna is often tired. As a mother of 2 I always feel tired, and then I feel bad I feel tired. This makes me feel less bad. Thank you 😊
Fabulous!! Just watching made me smile😊, can’t wait for hubby to get home from working away, we often break out into a slow dance when “the perfect song” comes on and dancing alone is so freeing! Great video & awesome challenge😎🙌
I think it is more difficult when you HAVE to dance and when you're with another person. I dance fairly often, badly, completely alone, and it feels SO good to just completely let go with no judgement of myself. Definitely gets me pumped and puts a smile of my face
Watching this video I wanted to dance more ... and now I do. Sometimes with music. Other times just randomly, making up my own music. One of my favorite Wheezy vids.
Craig, please do a month of lucid dream training!! The steps would be extremely easy for you: consistent sleep schedule, dream journal, and 5-10 reality checks every day which take a couple seconds each. You will not regret it, lucid dreams are the most mind blowing experiences I've ever had.
Lucid dream training can also lead to horrific nightmares and sleep paralysis. I am not Craig but for me the possible negatives have never outweighed the positives
@@Harrison_J_T Interesting, I didn't know it could have that effect. I've heard of lucid dreaming being used to cure recurring nightmares but didn't know it could cause them, or cause sleep paralysis. Would you mind posting some references? I'd be interested.
Best video you two have made ever!! Seriously. I loved the singing to replace the royalty music. But I'm so confused why you didn't give "Just Dance" on the Kinect a try. Me and my fiance dance to it almost every day and LOVE IT. We joke that we fell in love on the dance floor though :). But seriously!! It's so much fun and they have kids songs so your daughter can get involved too. I just gave birth (FTM) and am getting back in shape. I wake up wanting to exercise and having the Just Dance songs stuck in my head. I dance whenever I feel like it (usually when my daughter is sleeping behind me on the couch). Having it be a dance game makes us want to do better and get megastar on each song. It's a lot of fun.
I love this. I dance almost everyday. I dance doing chores, I dance brushing my teeth. I dance in front of the mirror. I dance just for the sake of it and by myself. Thank you for this video. So much fun.
Freestyling is fun, but I also HIGHLY recommend picking up a copy of Just Dance! It's a video game series that I only started playing this year, and it can help scratch that itch that Nataly had of wanting to see your skills improve because you get to learn and practice choreography of varying difficulty levels, as well as expose you to fun songs you may not have heard before. There's also daily challenges if you're into that sort of thing. I always find myself wanting to do "just one more!" even though I'm sweating and dying because it's just so fun and lifts my mood so much.
I loved this. I love that I have a family that dances. I think the key is to always be open to dancing around the house for no reason and not forcing it. If someone is dancing stop whatever chore or task you are doing and spend a few minutes laughing and dancing together.
I’ve been a ballroom dancer for 10 years. So I got so excited when ballroom dancing was mentioned in the beginning but then I see that didn’t happen. Dancing is my first and always love and I dance every day without even thinking about it. It makes me feel so happy and energizes me. It’s interesting to see people who don’t feel that way. I live to dance even if it’s just in my living room all by myself. I dance when I’m in the grocery store, at the gym, at work and of course at the dance studio. I couldn’t imagine life without it.
I used to dance about my apartment as part of my warmup before strength training every day. So much fun! This video makes me feel like I should do it again sometime...
I usually sing and hum all day...and when I break out and dance, the cat goes running as he knows that he will become an unwilling dance partner. Ava is such a big girl now. She has beautiful teeth. Ava, keep brushing your teeth every day and you will have super smile forever.
the two of you are so wonderfully weird and great together....love when you do challenges together...I've tried a few...a couple stuck...I'm definitely trying this one
Nice job on the standing desk option there. First time I've seen ya use it. The science behind standing (and what happens to your body when you sit for like 6-8 hours a day) is amazing.
Oh my god, I had no idea Jack and Nataly were from Pomplamoose! I've enjoyed their music for a while now, and seeing them do these challenges adds a whole other awesome side to them! My favorite album is En Francais.
I'm a swing and blues dancer who loves going to social partner dances. I was so happy to see this! If you wanna check them out, there are organizations that hold regular dances, usually with free lessons at the beginning, somewhere near you. They are literally everywhere. Lounge culture never really died, it just went underground a bit.
This was very helpful. I am a lifetime group exercise instructor; started back when we called it “aerobics.” I began dancing ballet at age 2 or 3, and have continued movement of many forms to this day. I understand that exercise is not for everyone, and a class is not for everyone. I have known that dancing to music, solo or with a partner, is so good for us, our body and our brain. I took for granted, however, that one wouldn’t enjoy dancing in their own home/space...for even up to 20 minutes. I laughed at the idea you guys couldn’t make it that long..then watching the video, and the comments, and “feedback,” etc....I learned something. Thank you. Oh, and of course I think “You Should Be Dancing” should be on everyone’s playlist.
Midway through, I thought, “Isn’t it interesting how driven Jack and Nataly are to accomplish something more than just completing the challenge?” Now it’s some hours later and I’ve watched a few Pomplemousse videos (which is not uncommon as they are part of my dinner-making music rotation) and I think, “I think the only sad thing about BEING Pomplemousse is that it’s probably not that exciting to DANCE to Pomplemousse while making dinner.” So thanks, Wheezy and Chyna, for the concept, and thanks, Jack and Nataly, for BEING Pomplemousse so we can dance to you while making dinner.
Pretty sure this is an adorable lesson for any couple who need to spice things up. DANCE. Also the struggle to admit it was fun is SO MIDWESTERN I can't even.
I think if I were to do that challenge, I would probably include some times when I did famous dances from tv and movies. So dance like Sprockets and Night at the Roxbury, Footloose, Singin' in the Rain, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Sweet Charity etc. So much fun!
My favorite part of this video was Tamara telling Gertie to start dancing "hey gertie we're trying to do a thing here!" And you can't change my mind! Loved this video. I'm going to dance today and maybe tomorrow
First thing : Couples goals. Watching this was a pure joy to watch. You can tell there's a LOT going on in the background, but you can still see the joy, fun and love for each other. Second thing : My (just hatched) theory is basically anything that is hard to 'start' is because of the subconscious system pushing against it. Dancing, especially, is something that we've basically been conditioned to think of as weird to do outside of situations it is 'acceptable'...to the point even by ourselves feels weird (no ones going to care cos they can't see it...promise I won't tell anyone if you won't :) ). Not only do you have to work against the concept 'effort' (the human need for path of less resistance) but you also go against the social conditioning...I think understanding that makes it easier to push through it maybe. I've found music an important part of my recovery from a darker place, this video has made me think about kicking it up a notch :)
I started this kind of dancing (alone, silly, in my kitchen) to hit my step goals! Fast and efficient way to get a ton of steps, energy, fun, and beauty in your life. This makes me want to dance tonight!
Okay, I succumb to cute, joyful, couple pictures. Excellent alternative to the fact some of our couple friends that are in family court due to 2020 stress. Thank you.
DUH!! It never clicked until now!!! POMPLAMOOSE!!! I LOVE Les Yeux Noirs!!!!!! I dance all the time, though, not official dancing -- just little snippets of dancing, like to part of a song, or while doing things, or when no one is around and I'm alone in the sewing room, and that one song comes on. I think the 20 minutes was the hard part. One song, easy. Two songs -- well, okay.
Occasionally I have a solo dance party in the evening if I'm home alone and the mood strikes me. I can just dance around and not worry about anyone watching me, which makes it easier lol. I definitely feel invigorated and energized afterwards, and it's a great way to get a little exercise in an otherwise sedentary day. I can see how it might feel like a chore if I had to do it every day though. Interesting video, and I enjoyed watching all the dancing. :)
I have got to try this! You guys crack me up and inspire me at the same time. We are from the midwest and I really "get" your humor. It's like being back home. 😊😂🥺
So not to copy you, but to imitate you... I wanna start documenting my own '7 day challenges for a better self'... I'm gonna start, by myself. Then include my wife and kids, if they want to... Your videos always make me feel that a better self is always out there.

I agree. I ballroom dance in Chicago and it is my favorite thing to do ever.
Really genuinely brightened my day seeing the two of you dancing, especially the slow dancing which warmed my frozen heart. Stay awesome, you two!
Craig just showing off for 20 minutes a day LOL Sending well wishes to everyone xo
I used to do dancing time with my kids every day before dinner, it was so cool and we felt really happy with it. Then we had problems with the neighbours and, even though they weren't caused by the dancing, things are really tense right now and we don't want to push it. If all goes well, we're moving next summer and I hope we can go back to our old routine.
damn this is just too wholesome! I need to start dancing
dancing while making food, brushing teeth or vacuuming is the best. Maybe you should make round 2 for this 😉
This is funny and adorable at the same time
For years my husband and I danced: at home, at local dances, at parties. The neighbors got a giggle and we got time together.
Rob and Tamara are like the glue that holds my TH-cam world together. How do they keep ending up being friends with everyone I watch on TH-cam?
I was definitely not expecting to see rob scallon in this video
@@jovianarsenic6893 Rob Scallon and Craig have been friends for years. He used to be in a lot more videos back when they did more music together so I was pleasantly surprised to see him.
@@InvdrDana similarly you can see Jake in a lot of Rob's videos because Jake does Rob's filming... it makes more sense when you realize that they're all kind of TH-cam neighbors
Thanks for having us. I'm still so sweaty somehow....
You should probably shower
@@wheezywaiter idk....
you 2 are lookin frickin FITT. also your song overdubs - magnificentt. this was your best "thing to try" ever. and your video editing musta been a monster on this one :)
@5:13 LOL Chyna's face when Craig was making a joke haha. It was so cute & fun to see you guys dancing together! And I love that you are both so comfortable with each other :)
This is pure gold. So genuine. Really sparks joy!
This has been a very meandering comment, so in conclusion, what I love most about dancing is getting so wrapped up into the music and feeling confident in my body that I don't notice how hard I'm working and I stop stressing about my life--it's almost meditative.
what cardio hip hop classes have you been enjoying?
I love dancing to Draft Puck’s “Around the Globe”
"Draft Puck" 😂
This is the sweetest 30-day challenge you’ve done! You two seemed so happy!
It was fun seeing Nataly & Jack participate in a challenge again. I was first introduced to them on your channel and ran into them a couple of months ago (while I coincidentally had one of their songs replaying in my head for days haha)!
Haven’t even watched and I know I’m gonna feel all the feels and I’m so ready for it
This was really precious!
Damn, I remember i use to dance every other day in my tiny room when I was a teen thinking « I’ll totally dance every day in my living room when I’ll get my appartement » now that I rent said apparement i dance every other day in my tiny kitchen thinking « man I’d dance every day if I had more space »
It’s time for a change, thanks guys
Yes, this! People think it's a waste of time when it's really just getting things done.
I love dancing right before I jump in the shower. It’s the perfect time to dance to upbeat music, work up a sweat, then take a nice shower. I sleep so well! Great video BTW! 😃
"Parenting cramps my marriage style"
Merch…(not that I have any money)
Spent all mine on the kids.
I agree, but I also don't want my kids to know that 🙈
I'd buy it lol
Best month challenge for me so far ! I loved everything about that video from the singing, the dancing, non-dancing, cute interactions with your friends and daughter... now I just want to do the same :) I'm a dancer (ballroom and for fun ^^) but I have a rough path physically and mentally right now, your vid makes me want incorporate more dance in my life, in any shape it will take, even if I not up for it..! Thank you, have a great day !
This put a huge smile on my face, and motivated me to want to dance more... lol. You guys are great
Just danced with my 9 month old for 10 minutes to the pointer sisters. We both thank u guys.
Watching this video I wanted to dance more ... and now I do. Sometimes with music. Other times just randomly, making up my own music. One of my favorite Wheezy vids.
Your dad joining in was adorable 😊
Craig, please do a month of lucid dream training!! The steps would be extremely easy for you: consistent sleep schedule, dream journal, and 5-10 reality checks every day which take a couple seconds each.
You will not regret it, lucid dreams are the most mind blowing experiences I've ever had.
Craig has insomnia...consistent sleep schedule might be out of the question
Jack and nataly did this and it was really interesting
@@EllenBeal Coool, I hadn't seen that! Here it is for anyone else who's interested: th-cam.com/video/Yti4yYZqtMo/w-d-xo.html
I've been doing this for years - it's the absolute 2pm Slump killer.
This just makes me all warm and fuzzy. Edit: I think we all deserve a wheezy version of flashdance. That man arching on a chair, yes!
I'm going to do this with my kiddos!! I feel like it will be the perfect bonding activity. Thank you for this ❤
"you did. you did. you did."
chyna ur an icon
The rob scallon cameo was appreciated
I always forgett that rob and craig have been friends for a very long time
Also Hank Green and Jake 🤔
I don't think I've noticed before how similar Jack and Craig look lol.
But Jack’s the kinda guy who wears a hat indoors. Craig isn’t .
It's the beards. 🧔
The science behind standing (and what happens to your body when you sit for like 6-8 hours a day) is amazing.
this brought me so much joy! dancing once in a while is a beautiful thing to have landed on.
Chyna is just gorgeous.
You are such a lovely couple. Xx
I don't know why but just seeing you guys dancing and having fun made me smile so muuuuch! And now I feel like dancing too 😂
2:00 - Jack : "I'm suddenly full of endorphins and..." - Say what!? Jack is ALWAYS like that!!!
This is so beautiful:,) I love all the dynamics in this video
I started this kind of dancing (alone, silly, in my kitchen) to hit my step goals! Fast and efficient way to get a ton of steps, energy, fun, and beauty in your life. This makes me want to dance tonight!
What we learned is when Pomplamoose releases a music video they need to insert clips of Craig and Chyna dancing
I loved it!! Craig, you and Chyna rock!!💕
This is one of my favorites. Sometimes I'm listening to something and I'll get up and dance. You guys are the best looking couple I've ever seen.
"I feel like I should be doing something either productive or relaxing"
I feel attacked. Is this growing up?
I have got to try this! You guys crack me up and inspire me at the same time. We are from the midwest and I really "get" your humor. It's like being back home. 😊😂🥺
So not to copy you, but to imitate you... I wanna start documenting my own '7 day challenges for a better self'... I'm gonna start, by myself. Then include my wife and kids, if they want to... Your videos always make me feel that a better self is always out there.
I don't think there is anything better than Jack Conte and the Wheezy Waiter in one Video! I'm so happy right now!
You guys! What a great idea. Endorphins, increased heart rate, energy, singing, togetherness. Genius. I'm in.
Sneaking in a Tamara Chambers cameo like it's no big deal!
love Jack & Nataly Collabs ! yay , this was gold , very entertaining and enlightening , good stuff !
6:14 distracted by the Bluey toys. Love that Bluey has invaded your home too.
Oh hey, Rob Scallon. I had no idea you guys were friends that so freaking cool.
!!!
