Episode 36 of Love At First Scent
This was a TH-cam Live broadcast streamed on Tuesday 3 September 2019. Unscripted. Unedited. Unrehearsed.
    In this episode, I covered:
    - La Couche Du Diable (at the start of the video)
    - Love Mimosa from Amouage (at the 16:00 minute mark)
    - Ambre Redoutable from Mugler (at the 24:00 minute mark)
    - Pergola from Exaltatum (at the 39:00 minute mark)
    and the classic scent was
    - Avignon from Comme Des Garcons (at the 30:00 minute mark)
    ---
    Here's the blotter update...
    - The Lutens has become more focused on the incense, although the labdanum is unquestionably still present. It's perhaps less 'dangerous' than when it started. Still no overt oud, though.
    - Love Mimosa is as delightful - and as 'present' - as when it started.
    - The Mugler has settled to a convincing, spicy amber. Solid work.
    - Pergola is still very green and now quite sharp too: strong hyacinth note. It makes a striking first impression.
    - Avignon is peace and serenity itself.
    Thanks again for watching.

Labdanum. Good. You sold the devil to me. Big thanks. I love Serge Lutens. Great vid. I did not expect your voice and accent. Looks like a Latin dancer, speaks like a minor royal.

I know everyone calls it The Devil's Diaper, but I think it's just Oncle Serge having his usual joke - couche means all kinds of things, from coat, to bed, to blanket, to couch. I love this - only got it yesterday and am wearing it today. As a big fan of Fille en Aiguilles, I'm delighted.

Has anyone ever told you that you look like Jeremy Wade, the host of the show River Monsters? You could be his son. Uncanny. Looking forward to trying this Lutens. Anything dark with labdanum in it is usually a favourite.

You got me curious to try Love Mimosa although I normally don’t find mimosa so interesting. But since I picked up Angelique from Papillon last summer, my mind has opened up to it! Maybe should revisit Avignon too. Was not into incense two years ago when I tried it last.

      I would say Avignon is a must-try.

Thank you for educating us about perfume and helping most of us in our perfume journey. I am looking forward to try the new SL's La Couche di Diable. It sounds promising, I was not wowed with La Participe Passe (it was too much cumin and dried fermented fruits on my skin that my SO asks me nicely if I need a shower or something ha..ha..ha..). Anyway because I watch your videos I learned that it is better to have fewer high quality performing scents (a few Serge Luten's classic) than having flankers after flankers of watered down version of the same old, same old (was very guilty of this, collecting bottles because they look good together). It seems like a common sense but I guess any perfume enthusiast needs to go through this to learn what works for them. Once again thank you very much and as some people point out.....Your forehead tells everything ha..ha..ha...

Angela Obar Thanks very much for watching and for leaving such a kind comment. If I have been helpful, then I’m really pleased.
I’d say you should never bother with any perfumes about which your feelings are lukewarm. Find what you really love.
Do let me know if you get a chance to try to Diable.

You may not like feminity de bois or serge noire. Both have that note that is cumin or wood that has that body type scent. Great house isnt it. Tiziani is a great italian house, bang for your buck.

Diabolical perfumes you would recommend? 👹

Yes, please :) if the Devil had a scent what would it be? It’s hard to think of a perfume I know that instantly generates a diabolical quality, alluring but in a demented way. Strange but familiar
