I don't know if the format of this show was ever explained to you. These are all great singers, and each show is dedicated to one singer... the others all sing a song of their choosing that they think will mean something to that person. This was from Emma Heester's episode she was the blonde in crimson and she was mae famous for singing covers.

The band advised her during rehersals to keep it small for greater impact. Floor sings this for Emma, that’s why she sang girl twice
Floor is a "high sensitive" person. Her feelings for the song and lyrics are real and not manufactured and that always comes across in her performances. If she doesn't "feel" the song, she won't sing it. She isn't called the Goddess of Empathy for no reason. She can bring grown tough guys to tears with her voice. BTW - she's singing this to Emma Heesters (the young woman with the red sparkly dress).
I didn't understood why I liked Floor's singing so much (mostly Nightwish) until I was told, by one the professionals addressing my PTSD, that I was an hypersensitive... and then I found out that Floor was hypersensitive as well. That made a lot of sense.
On the other hand, she really knows her technical handcraft and can reach every note to perfection.

Im a tough metalhead guy. Got into Nightwish years ago and found the reaction channels then found this show with floor in it. It changed how I listen to music and I love all the soft amazing songs like this. Floor is a goddess and can make any song her own its jaw dropping and brings tears to your eyes.
I agree with you! Floor really opened my eyes on how music is made and is meant to be heard. Nightwish in general really showed me that music is an experience and not just an arrangement of notes ♥️

I am 64 years old, and I have been a hard rock/heavy metal enthusiast since I was a small boy...like 8 years old! I found Nightwish about a year and a half ago...and Floor just blew me away!
I can't listen to this song without tears streaming down my cheeks...she sings it so beautifully! You can feel the emotion in Floors voice...just like a couple of Nightwish's ballad's , Dead Boy's Poem, Sleeping Sun to name two of my favorites!

This is not shallow at all. It's like a masterclass "How to sing emotional ballads?" Floor uses there some little technical options and texture variations from her huge toolbox, and we are done. 😎👍

For this show the artists live together for six weeks in a resort. Plenty of time to get to know each other pretty well. Which is why emotions sometimes run high.
And because there's no contest aspect, there's a lot of respect for each other and more depth than you'd expect from a show like this.
Also, a new season of beste zangers is kicking of soon. This season has Anneke van Giersbergen. An truly amazing vocalist, who inspired Floor and possibly others to become metal singers. Like Floor she's criminally unknown in her own country, but that's about to change.
I can't believe they stay for 6 weeks on a resort on Ibiza. That would make it a very expensive show. The singers stay for a week or perhaps 10 days. Not much longer.

Every week one singer is highlighted and the last week duets. Every week each singer gets one day with the band to put the song together and rehearse. Re-writing about 50 songs, learn them, and rehearse them in ten days is just not possible. Remember, it's one band accompanying all of them.
@@jessicakoster2543 Most work is done before te actual recording of the show. The performing artist know who the other artist are months before the shooting of the show. So they have have plenty of time to prepare.

I thought I heard Floor mention it was hard being away from home for this show for six or eight weeks, and that that time there gave them the chance to really get to know each other. But I just read an interview with Dennie Christiaan and he confirmed what you said, and that the show makes it appear they only have a few days to rehearse.
no,they record the show in a week,rehearsels in the morning,2-3 shows in the afternoon (you can see the daylight) and the rest in the evening

With you about 'Beste Zangers'. The format of the show is really, really nice and refreshing. You're so right..It's a celebration not a competition. I'm amazed it isn't a format franchised everywhere...it's a feelgood show. I wouldn't have watched it without Floor..so glad I did...and not just for her performances.
If you wanna hear her GREATEST vocal cover, yes greatest in my opinion, you should recat the song called ADAGIO (Lara Fabian cover). Why? Because you will witness ALL of her vocal abilities in that song except the growling technique. It's the biggest cover song that Floor did. Please make it happen, darling.

Floor sang this song for Emma Hesster (red dress). Emma is a well-known talent specializing in TH-cam covers. Floor explained that she wanted to try to pull something different out of this song for Emma. One of her chosen approaches to do that was to "keep the song small." The colors of Floor's voice especially when she delivers the lyrics with a well-placed "airy" quality is one of the ways Floor makes this song her own. Amazing.
You pronounced the program title very correctly, well done. Although the Dutch sentence 'Beste Zangers' is frequently translated as 'Best Singers', the correct English translation has to be: 'Dear Singers'. That's why it's not a contest, but a tribute to the fellow vocalist.

Hi Aileen, Floor also did a couple of recordings from home. One is the soundtrack of Frozen, “Let it Go”. They added a little metal to it, really cool. You might want to check it out.
Floor feels everything she sings and she has the ability to make you not only hear her singing beautifully, she pushes that emotion out to the listeners. Nice reaction.

Floor is amazing, luckily for me I'm going to see Nightwish on 17th November in Dublin Ireland.
I think it's the precision, the pronunciation, the control... It's like a string player performing a very technical passage, but at very low volume. That type of playing makes any mistakes that much more obvious. When that kind of performance sounds spot on, it's even more impressive.
Hallo young ladie with the most captivating beautifull Smile.... keep up discovering floor! It is so rewarding, so soul cleansing..it brings so much inner peace. I don't know how Floor does what she does..but it is wonderfull..even her ' fan fridays' on TH-cam, her 'floor finds' also on TH-cam and her masterclasses are so great..she is so down to earth such a blessing for mankind yet so 'unknown' for sure the most versityle female vocalist in this day and age..probably also the best.....by far...by a galaxi. In this show they all are Dutch singers. They sing a song from one of the other singers. It’s not a competition.
To understand why Floor is so damn good in delivering feelings through her voice you should know that she is what is called a "high sensitive person".
I have to agree. The show is great. No jalousy whatsoever to see between the singers. It was a great really positive season.
When north americans listen and love music not for a beat but for music. It gives me hope. There is a lot of amazing music. I hope you keep doing your thing and in the process maybe discover something new

And floors episode spcialy emma heesters doing the song strong then you see floor crying. Floor wrote that song for her mother who suffers reuma and for emma it is also special her mother had cancer

So if you get a chance watch that whole season of that show. Everyone on the sofas are popular dutch singers. Each episode they focus on one singer and the rest will sing a song that either inspired or is from that particular singers catalog. This episode was for the younger blonde in the red dress.
You should cover the floor song vilja on zengers. A song that has a different language, German. And was her first song in the show when people was thinking that she can't pull it off. Hard song to sing in a language that she does not speak
