Great reaction! I'm a 69-year-old retired guy who has been immersed in popular music since I saw the Beatles on TV in 1964, so I've heard thousands of bands and singers over the past 60 years. Without a doubt, Floor Jansen is my favorite vocalist ever. Her skill and versatility are unmatched. I encourage you to take a deep dive into Floor's catalog, both with Nightwish and in her solo work.
@@stephaniemichelehochsprung9592 I haven't seen the German version yet, I don't know what it is about, but the Dutch version involved singing "to someone", either from their repertoire or something that someone likes or that will "move" them emotionally. Keep exploring Floor and Nightwish. Also, Epica. There are 2 wonderful duets with their singer, Simone Simons, another Dutchy, and Floor. Also, there's a beautiful solo opera performance by Floor worth reacting to.
Another Dutch rabbit hole to explore: The compositions of Arjen Lucassen, opera-like, with a leading story and multiple instrumentalists and singers who show up on stage for their parts. Hello, Miss Swift, such a beautiful and heartfelt reaction! Thank you. In addition to my above comment: In case you want to dive deeper into Floor's 'Beste Zangers' performances, I really recommend to watch the fan-uploaded videos which have the intro and the final reactions to the songs with them. They are all quite decently subtitled in English and it is really nice to see what's the story to the song for the original artist, you sometimes even get to see extracts from the original performance. And Floor talks about her motivation to do this specific song and her approach on how to sing it. And the final thoughts and reactions after the performance are just fun to watch. Just a small example: After Floor's rendition of 'I don't know a thing about love', sung for Ruben Annink, he, completely overwhelmed and in tears, stated: "It is just absurd, how you (means Floor) make everything better!" The entire 2019 season of Beste Zangers is outstanding. I really recommend watching the whole season end episode where all the singers do duets (there's at least one version with English subtitles.) Floor's duets with Tim Akkerman (Shallow) and Henk Poort (Phantom of the Opera) are absolutely the best.
If you like things your not expecting you could do worse than all of Floor's performances on the 2019 Beste Zangers where she just excelled with every performance.
In her carrer she did a lot of ballads. Even with her band After Forever ( Eccentric, Strong, Cry with a smile❤) and ReVamp ( I lost myself❤ ). And she always stayes close to the lyrics, so she only sings what she can connect with.

Floor was on a radio show and they handed the phone book to her. She sang several lines a cappella before singing one of the songs from her recent solo album Paragon. Anything she sings will be great either with Nightwish, or her first band After Forever, her own bands ReVamp and Northward or guesting with various artists including Ayreon, Star One, Soilwork, Evergrey, Avantasia, Epica and MaYan to name a few. Plus several covers recorded at home during Covid and appearances on Beste Zangers ( Dutch TV) and Sing Meinen Song ( German TV). Oh and another appearance on Dutch TV singing O Mio Babbino Caro from the opera The Merry Widow.
Great reaction, Swift! Floor is such a flexible and adaptable singer. Her performances on this show really opened people's eyes as to her abilities. It is my understanding that she was not well known to the other performers and their expressions show their surprise. I really enjoy your channel.
Hi beautifull one, Floor's Invinceble..... can't wait to hear her life in Bloemendaal... hope she sings this one to!!!! Have a great day and please give yourself a present by listening to her song Invinceble.... love your reactions ❤
@@liefde1911 … My point exactly, but the original artist who brought this song to such global acclaim. I myself don’t think much of her & preferred Floor’s version 👍😄
Someone said the worst thing that can happen to you as a professional singer is when Floor covers your song. You instantly loose that song. And he/ she was right . Floor does any genre. And she does it better than anyone else. Her secret weapon: She pumps tons of emotions into you. Straight into your heart. In combination with an unmatched stage presence. Expressions, looks, moves, everything is to the point. She simply is not from this world. In my humble opinion the very best singer from this moment.
Floor is a generational singer.....at 66 years old...I have heard so many great singers in my life...and Floor is, without any doubt, the best I have had the pleasure to listen to...she is that good. The fact the the radio stations in the US don't play Nightwish or songs from her solo album is so sad. You really should feature Floor's solo album...Paragon. It is amazing!
I would just add that should the decision to react to floor's album that you find videos of those songs live and not the music videos. While there is nothing wrong with the music videos, one cannot beat Floor singing live.
Floor is fantastic! All here performances in this tv show "Beste Zangers" are great. I like Vilja Lied a lot, and of cause here duet with Henk Poort. And here performance of the song "Mama" has a special place in my heart.
Go Floor. Thank you for your reaction, you took the words out of my mouth. Definite one of my favorite songs. I like that is so different from the original. I like the vulnerability, it touches me. Floor, your my Scandinavian goddess of Music. You touch my heart. I am proud te be Dutch. If Floor is my Goddess, them Og3ne are the sirens, demigodesses, Amira Willighagen is my Queen and Emma Kok is at least my Crown princess of music. I love music that transfer emotions.
🤗🍒🌹😘 well done And yes Floor of course has an accent because she is Dutch, you could also watch this song with Floor together with Tim Akkerman also from this program
Started writing this yesterday, had to stop, crap happens....If you want to hear one of Floor's finest vocals, listen to "Dead Boys Poem" live from Buenos Aires 2018....It's just the way the Band, and Floor perform this Magical song together....In my 80 years listening to Music, this is the song that could be my all time Favorite, not just Nightwish....
Just a suggestion, when you pause, try and rewind just 5-10 sec. that way you'll get a more natural flow as a viewer, and "remember" where we were in the song.
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with an ambitus of more than three octaves (C3 to F6). Her singing style varies from opera and clean singing to screaming and grunting. She usually sings in English, but she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish
I could tell by your smile that your reaction is 100% genuine. Floor is undoubtedly the best female vocalist on the planet right now, hands down. She can do anything she wants. If you get a chance, watch all her performances from that Beste Zangers show, you will love it. Also, check out her solo stuff like " ME without you" live, unreal.
Floor can sing it all. From full blown beautiful aria's (Paccini) Metal to delicate ballads. Honestly, I love her version way more that Gaga's. But that's of course personal taste. We Dutchies are pretty fluent with English (and most of us also in German and French) Singing needs to be without accent and it is easir than talking without accent. Floor is awesome with languages too.
I’ve heard Floor sing three times with Nightwish, notably at Hellfest. I’ve always admired her powerful and masterful voice. But this video really shows her ability to sing calmer and more delicate songs. What versatility! Truly one of the greatest singers of all time.
A Dutch television show documented Floor’s reunion at her music school and followed her to a concert in Finland, that her parents attended. It gives you a lot of insight as to who Floor is as a person. Here’s a link: th-cam.com/video/zRqqma4kWIg/w-d-xo.html
Hey. Heard the Aussie accent decided to stay. Have loved Nightwish and Floor for a while. First time hearing this cover. Didn't think she could add more tenderness than the original. Shows that emotion and unfettered talent can transcend the music and become goosebumps and teary eyes and keep you in the present for three minutes. Not easily done. Love and respect from Brisbane. Cheers.
all of her performances in this show were awesome, specially the cover of Tim Akkermann's Winner, or Floor's song "Stronger" coverd by Emma Heesters, but prepare your tissue's
She learnt a bit Spanish for this show, just to sing "Que Se Siente" for Rolf Sánchez. Also get other songs from this show are all amazing, you should check them out... "Winner", "Mama" (in Dutch), "Vilja Lied" (in German), "About Love I Don't Know A Thing"... Shallow in duet with Tim Ackermann.... All her performances in this show have been outstanding
Excellent reaction... Now for something completely different ... If you want to hear a variety of performances from Floor here are some suggestions: Floor growling = Nightwish - “Yours Is An Empty Hope” Vehicle Of Spirit Live at Wembley (2015). A little heavier with a growl = ReVamp - “Disdain” Live at Graspop (2010). Floor with her sister = After Forever - Floor & Irene Jansen - “Who I am” live at P60, Netherlands (2007). And amazing duet = Epica - “Sancta Terra (feat Floor Jansen)” Live Retrospect show. And there is the music video “After Forever - Energize Me.”
It's a really good season of a really good Dutch TV show. Anything involving Floor, Henk Poort, and/or Emma Heesters is definitely worth a watch! Floor sings in multiple languages - she does have an accent, but it's much less pronounced when singing (in English it's mostly just using unvoiced s where we would use a voiced z sound sometimes).
If you want to hear more Dutch artists, try Kensington with the song Sorry (very deep tekst) and the band Direct with the song All in vain (from the Duif sessions). If you like them both they together did a 16 minute famous rock songs compilation.
I'm 58 and 100% German (well, as far as we Germans can even say that, thinking of all the people transiting through this place over the centuries anyway 🤡😁💛). Floor is certainly one of the most versitile female vocalists alive and if I were given one free musical wish by a genie it would be hearing her in a duet with Freddy Mercury! My recommendations for you in regards to Floor would be the title song from her solo album "Paragon", her rendition of Heart's "Alone", her duet with the other incredible female Dutch voice of Simone Simons (lead vocalist of the Dutch symphonic metal band "Epica") singing Epica's "Sancta Terra" from their "live retrospect show" and last but not least "the phantom of the opera" either with Markko from Nightwish or with Henk Poort (the elderly guy you just saw in this video). Btw: you've got a new subscriber...💛💛 Edit: I forgot to comment on your accent remark: listen to Adele talk and then to her sing - even the British relinquish their "orginal" accents when singing. You can't hide it in talking anywhere as good as in singing.
Saw the old man? ( Henk Poort ) See their duet of Phantom of the opera. By the way, she sang opera as well. Being a metalsinger in daily life. How gifted can one be.....
Here's the clip of Floor singing the Dutch phonebook as a kind of goof...her fans have always said she could sing the phonebook and it would be awesome, so this radio(?) or TV(?) station decided to put her up to it when she appeared in order to sing a song from her solo album... th-cam.com/video/gmjIHx10g1U/w-d-xo.html
Floor was singing this for Emma, the girl in the red dress, a TH-cam singer. All of the other guest singers were in awe! Yes, she did sing from a phone book, which page would you like?
Floor is a transcendent talent, her tone, range, pitch & control are amazing ... and her stage presence & story-telling is just incredible!! It doesn't matter what genre or what style, she just nails it every time. As a performer, she is perfect. Re singing the phone book - a reactor once commented that she could sing the phone book and he'd listen, and it became a bit of a standard joke. Then, when she was promoting one of her solo singles on a dutch radio show, they got her to do it for a laugh. Of course, it sounded unbelievable. Here is a short clip of it: th-cam.com/video/gmjIHx10g1U/w-d-xo.html
Floor did sing this song also as a duett with Tim Akkerman! After the Dutch TV-Show "Beste Zangers" of 2019, she was part of the German Show "Sing mein Song" in 2022. Here she performt in german with Rap-Parts! A little impression of Sinmein Song: th-cam.com/video/f6iZuScq__Q/w-d-xo.html
I did leave you a nice post with the links to her solo projects when you reacted to Love Ghost Score, which also included the singing of the phonebook - not something I'd think you'd want to react to but a quick viewing you might enjoy.
Floor (also Dutch like Emma) aces it in Nightwish, but she's a more than accomplished Opera singer too (Alto I guess). I enjoy loud, fast paced music like the best - but the ballads and acapella artists strike a stronger chord with me (evidenced by N.E.M., Silent Lucidity, Wish you were here, etc.). I wish Татьяна Шмайлюк would throw us a few romantic songs like this too - I look and look for them, there's only one that is mildly gentle like this (Т.Ш. = Tatiana Shmayluk = lead singer of Jinjer)
Greetings from Arkansas USA. Glad you found the Beste Zangers show. If you can't watch all of Floors songs from Zangers, watch Phantom of the Opera for sure. You won't believe it. We're all lucky to be living at a time we can hear one of the best female voices ever and probably the best female voice on the planet today. It's fun to hear listeners try to explain what it is about Floor's voice. Nobody, including me can pin point what it is. Only thing I've come up with is her voice is undefinable. It's effortless and pure magic.
Hello!! Here's something Strange, Fun & suggests a bit of "Synchronicity"... go Back and Watch this Video.... there are 3 Times, that You & Emma Heesters (The Lady in the Red Dress and Ponytail, Too), MATCHED EXPRESSIONS & Head Positions!!! The First time was at 53 Seconds in, the Next was at 1:43 and again at 3:14!!! It's Pretty Cool that I Caught these! I think the reason I saw these is because I'm just Very Observant (and a Little Weird too.) Regardless, I Enjoyed your Reaction and will watch the other videos that you did, of Nightwish, to see your First "Floorgasms"!!

She simply is not from this world. In my humble opinion the very best singer from this moment.
I have heard Floor sing the phone book on Dutch Radio; there is a video on youtube that captures it.
Bought My Paragon as soon as I possibly could 😊
I would just add that should the decision to react to floor's album that you find videos of those songs live and not the music videos. While there is nothing wrong with the music videos, one cannot beat Floor singing live.
Floor's arms are nearly as beautiful as her voice.
great reaction, 1/4 dutchie! can not wait for the next, not giving hints, all the others did already.... keep going girl!
greetz from the netherlands
Greetings from UK
Anything Nightwish or Floor that you would like to react to, I will be here to watch 🥰
Floor is fantastic!
All here performances in this tv show "Beste Zangers" are great. I like Vilja Lied a lot, and of cause here duet with Henk Poort. And here performance of the song "Mama" has a special place in my heart.
She's unbelievable incredible, or what?
Proud to be Dutch 🇳🇱 🤘🫡
There's an old saying passed down from generations past..."Singers sing what they can...Floor sings what she wants."
Just a suggestion, when you pause, try and rewind just 5-10 sec. that way you'll get a more natural flow as a viewer, and "remember" where we were in the song.
t's easily done, just hit the left arrow and it backs 5 sec.
That woman is pure magic!
Better than original. Floor´s voice get better and better when getting older. She is so good. As a finn I love Nightwish also. 🥰
Floor is amazing isn't she!
There is more talent in Floor's little finger than in most of the so-called chart superstars. She can sing anything.
Beautiful reaction. When Floor sings I cry 🥲🙃
Loved this show. Watched all of these on TH-cam. She is just such a great singer. I loved when she did the Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort
Excellent reaction. May I suggest that you listen to her and Troy do the acoustic version of Nightwish's "How's the Heart."
I’ve heard Floor sing three times with Nightwish, notably at Hellfest. I’ve always admired her powerful and masterful voice. But this video really shows her ability to sing calmer and more delicate songs. What versatility! Truly one of the greatest singers of all time.
Wow. I'm so jealous. She would be amazing to see live.
@@SwiftReactions she certainly was. With a great stage presence to accompany her phenomenal vocal performance 🤘🏼😍😎
Cheers.
Thanks Wayne.
Apparently Lady Gaga posted that this was the best cover she'd heard back in the day.
Where can I find that statement? 😍
Where can I find that statement from Gaga? 😍
I believe it was on X (twitter) but I'm only passing on heresay from other commenters to other reactors so don't shoot me
Here’s the clip of her singing a page from the phonebook:

Please continue the journey with Nightwish. Also Floor has many other great vocals to react to. Nightwish army from Indiana.
If you want to hear her sing in Dutch (that 1/4 of you) listen to Mama from this same show De Beste Zangers. So damn nice ❤🥰🤩😍
Sitting on a chair, singing a beauty of a song, thats also floor😊
Floor explained that they kept this song small on purpose. We all know she can sing it as a metal song but she she did not.
Honestly perfect
all of her performances in this show were awesome, specially the cover of Tim Akkermann's Winner, or Floor's song "Stronger" coverd by Emma Heesters, but prepare your tissue's
She is so versital. She can sing every genre. So good❤
Excellent reaction...
The best season of that show. And of course Floor won. :)
That is so beautiful... 💖😭
She makes it look so effortless, in full control. I’m sure it takes a lifetime to get here though.
F and some letters man o man Floor
Floor Jensen covering Alone from Heart. You won't be disappointed.
Yes. But Heart version is also a cover. Original is i-Ten.
It’s Jansen an a is an a as you pronounce it an not an e as in the enghlish language
Her name is Floor Jansen....
PERFECT!!!
Btw: you've got a new subscriber...💛💛
Edit: I forgot to comment on your accent remark: listen to Adele talk and then to her sing - even the British relinquish their "orginal" accents when singing. You can't hide it in talking anywhere as good as in singing.
She did the full blown cover on the same show. Last show, the duet round
🎶🎶👍🇳🇱👍🎤💕
👍👍
Wowzers.
I would recommend checking her "Live in Amsterdam" show. It's on her TH-cam channel.
The show is with english subs every song has a story upfront where they talk about it.....😉
Floor was singing this for Emma, the girl in the red dress, a TH-cam singer.
Here is a short clip of it:
th-cam.com/video/gmjIHx10g1U/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!
I wish Татьяна Шмайлюк would throw us a few romantic songs like this too - I look and look for them, there's only one that is mildly gentle like this
Wait till you get to Floor and Henk Port, the older Gentleman, on the same show performing Phantom of the Opera!
In the title (and the thumbnail)... her name is still "Jansen", and not "Jensen", literally as well as phonetically. And I too am serious. ;-)
More than that, she should probably learn to spell first or at least spell check everything she does.
I think the reason I saw these is because I'm just Very Observant (and a Little Weird too.)
Regardless, I Enjoyed your Reaction and will watch the other videos that you did, of Nightwish, to see your First "Floorgasms"!!
Lol. That's funny. You are certainly super observant. I will definitely watch and check that out. I edited the video and didn't pick up on that 🤣
Floor Jansen graag een Duet met tommy johansson en Erik grönwall the best trhree vocals on this Planet 🤘
