Ben, I really appreciated this video. My wife and I are planning on moving our young family (boys, 1 and 3, and one more in the oven) to Southern AZ. We were most closely looking at the Tucson area and possibly Sierra Vista (the major drawback with SV is the small size and distance from a major airport). We'll actually be overseas in the winter months for work but will be in AZ during most of the year esp the hotter part of the year. My work is mostly remote but I need to fly both domestically and internationally frequently and our family wants to be in Southern AZ (i.e. Pheonix would be too far north for us). We were considering Sierra Vista b/c it's cooler but it's a bit far from Tucson. I was surprised to see that Vail, though not that far from Tucson, is 700 ft higher. Does that make it significantly cooler in the summer? Another question: are you aware of any other towns within say 30-45 min of Tucson that are significantly higher elevation and thus a little bit cooler than Tucson itself?

Hello Friedrich! Thank you for watching the video and reaching out to me. Southern Arizona is beautiful and rural for the most part. Tucson in general is a few degrees cooler than Phoenix due to elevation. I would guess Nogales or Fort Huachuca would come to mind but not 100% sure. Safe travels to you and your family through Europe in the winter months as well. Reach out to me at anytime.
