    I've been watching alot of videos on how to take off my stock flat spoiler and yours is the best by far. I'll be taking mine of this weekend and adding a PP1 paint matched spoiler to my 23' GT Premium. Thanks for a great video.

      Thank you for the support. I also recommend using 40lb fishing line to remove the old spoiler (step 9). Just something I wish I added to the video later.

    The stock spoiler might as well be a piece of duck tape. Its so small, its almost pointless. Its only real purpose is a place holder till you get a new spoiler.

    **When taking current spoiler off, only STAB the tool in. Do NOT stab and pry upwards. I ended up having 30+ small dents on the rear of the trunk from every time I placed the tool and lifted up a little bit. I wasn’t even using much force at all.**

    I just removed the stock spoiler on my 2019 today and I can attest to how awful the adhesive removal is. If the rubber wheel works half as good as the video suggests, buy it even before you buy the new spoiler. It took me a solid 2 hours to remove the adhesive without it.

    It would've been a lot easier if you get 4 studs (headless bolts) or sacrifice 4 bolts (they are cheap) and cut off heads. Screw them in the spoiler. I would be more comfortable with alignment of the holes that way, than relying on thin allen keys, which could put the holes off center. You can remove the studs after install using your straw trick, or needle nose plier.

    Is a heatgun or hair dryer helpful?

      I've heard a heat gun is helpful. However, the top choice is fishing line.

    Does this spoiler cover all the factory spoiler holes cause the website says that it doesn’t but it looks like it does?

  • @KonaPony

    You could have used fishing line or dental floss to cut through the double sided tape.

    I have a UK GT. I popped the black rubbers off and there are no bolts. Is it possible the blade is on with just tape?

    • @mcgurrentertainment
      @mcgurrentertainment  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is odd. I've never seen that before. Is it an aftermarket spoiler (not the factory lip version)? I wonder if someone taped an aftermarket spoiler to a "spoiler-delete" trunk.

      @@mcgurrentertainment same blade style you removed. I'll take the boot cover off to check middle bolts.
      It could be that previous owners got a ford blade and taped it. It does however look very factory.

    • @mcgurrentertainment
      @mcgurrentertainment  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gotcha. If you don't see middle bolts, it's very likely to be completely taped on. You can use fishing line and remove it.

    The fact that they did not put studs into the spoiler for ease of installation makes this a DO NOT BUY product. There are other brand spoilers that have the studs and dont need this level of engineering to get the spoiler on straight. Totally DUMB BUMB.
