The stock spoiler might as well be a piece of duck tape. Its so small, its almost pointless. Its only real purpose is a place holder till you get a new spoiler.

I followed this tutorial and my install today worked out great! The eraser wheel is a must. I used a heat gun to get the stubborn adhesive loose towards the middle of the trunk when prying the initial spoiler off. Thank you very much for the extremely detailed and noob friendly guide!

I have a 2018 Camaro and recently installed a spoiler on it, really wished I came across this video (all of the installation videos were poorly made and not very helpful), would’ve saved me a few hours and scratches on my paint.
Before viewing your video I attempted to remove old "base spoiler" but screws were easy but not the adhesive tape. I gave up and decided to research. I will try again. Thanks for the eraser wheel idea. Why ford uses so much tape is beyond me. Auto body shops must really hate that tape.

Great video, best one I found and was really helpful on installing my new spoiler. But of course nothing ever goes smoothly according to plan. **When taking current spoiler off, only STAB the tool in. Do NOT stab and pry upwards. I ended up having 30+ small dents on the rear of the trunk from every time I placed the tool and lifted up a little bit. I wasn’t even using much force at all.**
@@mcgurrentertainment Nope, there were about like 30+ small ones I wasn’t even going to attempt it. Spoiler stuck on fine, got the two side screws in, and the middles ones for some reason won’t thread in. It’s been a huge PIA Just glad I have a magnetic stick to get the screws back that have dropped to the bottom of the trunk multiple times now 😂
Damn. And yea, I've dropped the screws in the trunk a few times as well when I did the first Mustang. Had to remove the trunk and tip it over to get them out.

Good video, on the ecoboosts models there are no holes on the trunk, the little want to be spoiler that comes with the car is just taped to the trunk. I had to drill on the trunk to get mine on.

I just removed the stock spoiler on my 2019 today and I can attest to how awful the adhesive removal is. If the rubber wheel works half as good as the video suggests, buy it even before you buy the new spoiler. It took me a solid 2 hours to remove the adhesive without it.
I've felt your pain. The first spoiler I did took forever to remove the tape without special tools. The eraser wheel was worth every penny just after the first use. Future tape removal jobs became simple tasks.
Wow excellent video loved the tips about using. Milkshake straw and the all wrench as guide. After watching make wonder how many people lost screw that fell inside the metal frame of the truck ?
Awesome video my man! This explains everything in depth that the American muscle video doesn't such as the fact that the double sided tape is stickier than a fresh turd. In AM's video they just popped it off like meh, no biggie.
@@mcgurrentertainment One question for you though, did the eraser disk you used to remove the double sided tape leave hologram swirls in the clear at all. In the video it sort of looks like it did unless those were just smudges that cleaned right off with a microfiber towel.
Wow...I'm at the dealership right now. And you are 100% correct. You have to remove the decklid to remove the spoiler. Doesn't look difficult, but definitely extra steps.
I ordered one of these and it came without the screws, I’ve tried looking for their size but found nothing so I’m commenting this as a last resort lol, do you think you can specify which size screws fit this spoiler? Would majorly appreciate it

I think the one I linked in the description was a SpeedForm 350GT Spoiler ( www.americanmuscle.com/speedform-mustang-2019-gt350-style-rear-spoiler-black-408139-ua.html ). Yes, it was gloss black straight out the box, and it's still shinny to this day.
It would've been a lot easier if you get 4 studs (headless bolts) or sacrifice 4 bolts (they are cheap) and cut off heads. Screw them in the spoiler. I would be more comfortable with alignment of the holes that way, than relying on thin allen keys, which could put the holes off center. You can remove the studs after install using your straw trick, or needle nose plier.
Very great video, my stock 21' ecoboost has a factory painted lip spoiler. I saw some people had to drill holes for the two middle screws. Any idea if these holes are factory on all mustangs? or would I have to drill new holes.
This looks very simple to do, my only issue is I have no car tools.... and I'm inexperienced with car tools. However this looks super easy to do. Do you know what store that carries these parts? I have a fiber cloth, straws, and alcohol. Thats all i have lol
Well, it depends where you are located. Several home improvement stores carry tool sets as well as most Auto Parts stores. Or you can order online. It all depends what you are looking for and your options near by.
The spoiler and trunk holes have a fair amount of play when lining everything up. It was easier to bolt down the spoiler in the ideal position to ensure it would be perfect; then tape down the Allen keys. Good question.
Do all S550's without the spoiler delete option have the same hole placement? Also great video 👍 I've been teasing the idea of getting a spoiler similar to the one you installed here

I just bought a carbon fiber spoiler that only comes with 3M tape but not pre drilled holes for the factory screws. You think some self tapping/ drilling screws would be a good way to better secure my spoiler to the trunk?
That's a great question. Adding mechanical fasteners would be ideal when attaching a spoiler. I've never tried self taping screws for carbon fiber. I would probably try to drill/install steel inserts to line up with the factory holes.

I have an issue… so I removed the 2 top nuts when I did this and they fell inside my trunk lid and I got replacements for the nuts but the problem is they rattle around when I drive is there any advice you could give me to get them out? I’ve even tried earth magnets
Sadly, this has happen to me on a different mustang. You will need a 10mm socket and remove the trunk (4 nuts). It would also be a good idea to disconnect the reverse camera so you can turn over the trunk without constraints.

That is odd. I've never seen that before. Is it an aftermarket spoiler (not the factory lip version)? I wonder if someone taped an aftermarket spoiler to a "spoiler-delete" trunk.
@@mcgurrentertainment same blade style you removed. I'll take the boot cover off to check middle bolts. It could be that previous owners got a ford blade and taped it. It does however look very factory.

The fact that they did not put studs into the spoiler for ease of installation makes this a DO NOT BUY product. There are other brand spoilers that have the studs and dont need this level of engineering to get the spoiler on straight. Totally DUMB BUMB.

Good question. There were some smudges after using the wheel, however the alcohol should clean the rest off.

It's crazy how strong that tape is. The spoiler nuts were just overkill. 😅

Thank you!!! A majority of Mustang spoilers on the market use the OEM holes. However, you may encounter a few that are a little off.

The holes in the middle are typically present. The two holes for the two outer corners of the spoiler are usually added for some installs.

Great video but why not just install the line up pins or Allen keys before putting the bolts in the spoiler

Spray WD40 for double side tape before removing spoiler and after for residues, and googone its easier....

If you’re clumsy and the nut falls inside the trunk how I’m the world do you get it out?
Great question, and this has happened to me on my first Mustang. Best way would be to unbolt the trunk (four 10mm nuts), flip, and shake them out.
Is a heatgun or hair dryer helpful?
I've heard a heat gun is helpful. However, the top choice is fishing line.
Does this spoiler cover all the factory spoiler holes cause the website says that it doesn’t but it looks like it does?
The spoiler covers all the holes.
You could have used fishing line or dental floss to cut through the double sided tape.

What is the low profile stock spoiler that came on your mustang before you removed it i personally like the small spoilers better?
Its just the factory spoiler. I believe the part number is FR3Z-6344210-AA.

I have a UK GT. I popped the black rubbers off and there are no bolts. Is it possible the blade is on with just tape?
That is odd. I've never seen that before. Is it an aftermarket spoiler (not the factory lip version)? I wonder if someone taped an aftermarket spoiler to a "spoiler-delete" trunk.
@@mcgurrentertainment same blade style you removed. I'll take the boot cover off to check middle bolts.
It could be that previous owners got a ford blade and taped it. It does however look very factory.
Gotcha. If you don't see middle bolts, it's very likely to be completely taped on. You can use fishing line and remove it.

how long are the screws?

The fact that they did not put studs into the spoiler for ease of installation makes this a DO NOT BUY product. There are other brand spoilers that have the studs and dont need this level of engineering to get the spoiler on straight. Totally DUMB BUMB.

My PP1 spoiler from American Muscle has the studs on them.
