Hi guys don't know if you follow Sampson Boat Company on you tube he's re-building an old wooden boat in Port Talbot in the US he was looking for a new Tender also and has bought one from a boat builder in Port Talbot it's an 11ft sailing/row boat it has a small removable mast the boat splits in half in less than one minute and you can turn the stern around and fit it inside the front of the boat it only weighs about 90 pounds and would fit in the back of a wagon check it out it is his most recent video. He is a professional sailor and it impressed him both as a row boat and small sailing dingy.

@@popsoldboats3406 Sorry, but that's "old" thinking. I mean, I get the fear and it's human nature. But people will steal it, faster than ever in this day and age, some are already - though it could be said to be "inspired". Let me elaborate.
Nothing he is doing hasn't been done before. Except, in this package. Resin infusion, not new. The eyelets, not new. Sailing tender, not new. Lightweight by way of optimizing layup, not new. Delta pad, decades old. Narrowish waterline with sudden increase about it for stability and spray deflection, not new. The wrap around wide rub rail, perhaps new, not sure. What's new is putting it all together in a tender package. And someone can and will copy it.
The way to stay ahead is to keep making the superior product, keep improving on it. This he knows, I can tell by how he insists he is still an R&D shop, still in motion, still chasing a dream of making it better and more versatile. Add that with a bit of brand loyalty, of customers being willing to pay to honor the original brand he will be just fine:)

Used for mixing a toxic epoxy resin. Do you have any idea what is in the West System for chemicals. Well let me assure you it is not an environmentally friendly product. How is it made where is it made? Ask the Wynn's what it smelt like in there.
As a side note I use the product, I am concerned about the environment but I do not claim to be something that I am not. That is call hypocrisy.

The Wynns have never claimed that the dinghy or the HH will be "environmentally friendly." What they are pushing toward is better and more sustainable products. The goal is and always has been how to leave less of a footprint on the planet, because we all leave footprints. A rigid inflatable dinghy has a limited lifespan, so you might need to buy several of them over the course of a circumnavigation. The OC should have a lifespan measured in decades. So while neither tender is built "guilt free", the OC was built conscientiously and does have a reduced environmental footprint simply because of its longevity. The same with the HH: no, it's not made from recycled seashells and held together with naturally harvested oyster glue, but it *will* allow them to live and cruise with very limited consumption of fossil fuels. And supporting and promoting more sustainable products will have a ripple effect to other consumers. Better, not perfect!

With Russ being such a cool guy and having a fantastic product, I think this will have to be a tender on our boat.
I thought that last week after seeing their faces playing around on the boat.
Russ is a character. I love to support home grown businesses like that. Looks like he has an excellent shop.
That dog at 1:08 stole the show! Crafting the perfect boat (even a small one), is no easy task. But teamwork makes the dream work. We appreciate Russell for showing us around and the whole process. He has a great facility, and the garden is a nice touch. Definitely helps soothe the mind and removes the stress part. Calmness is the cradle of power.
I've been watching you two since your early days RVing and I've got to say, this was one of my favorite videos yet. I'm an RVer who took is family (4 kids, wife and 2 dogs) around the country for 22 months when I retired from the military. My youngest (32 now) son's dream is to sail much in the manner that you do, so when you transitioned to sailing I became very interested in learning through you and others (like La Vagabond, Sailing Zatara, Tula's Endless Summer, and The O'Kelly's) about sailing so that I could talk intelligently about my son's dream (and maybe some day go sailing with him). This tender seems to be a perfect match for you, and married to an electric motor you'd have the best of both worlds. The mere fact that you can repair everything on it, and have the security of bot sailing (for fun), and rowing if need be is a game changer. Hope I see this on the davits of your new boat.

🤗 we have always considered ourselves an adventure travel channel. Especially because we didn’t start off in a sailboat. So very happy to hear you are enjoying the non sailing episodes too!
There are currently three other sailing channels, I can think of that now don't have a boat in the water (all in planning/production).

@@tomcraddock244 It is fascinating to see they have all picked different vessels, and to see the difference. Ruby Rose and The Wynns seem most similar. The Vagabond is going to be interesting as a trimaran. Then you have RAN who are going to DIY build RAN3!! This, doesn't even consider Acron To Arabella, The Samoson Boat Company Magic Carpet (who have now get sailing again).

Gotta say, Russell has a nice deck right there 😉And if that place becomes even more of a swamp, perhaps Shrek might move in! While there are places that do a whole thing for afternoon tea in the US, it's still not that common because at the end of the day, the US is a coffee country. This is due to the Revolutionary War where tea became a symbol of British rule. Tea and coffee were equally popular in the thirteen colonies during the 18th century, but the revolution tilted the balance.
The Aussies do a tea time, not to be confused with the early evening tea (aka dinner). While some Aussies do say tea, most actually just say a cuppa. Like asking would you like a tea or would you like a cuppa. Because regardless which term they use, quite a few of them if not most actually drink coffee instead of tea. So if you reply yes, they will then ask which one you want, tea or coffee. It is very common for Aussies to drop by for a cuppa and a short visit out of the blue. Aussies like to think of themselves as coffee connoisseur, even though they have limited selection of types. And are just as happy drinking freeze dried at home.
OMG!! Finally a tender that isn't a stupid inflatable. They are the most useless thing if you need to move bikes, food or fuel. No space between the pontoons. I have been looking at the small Boston Whalers, but very heavy. Now I know what I'm putting on the back of my 47 foot boat. Thank You!!
I love your channel and how you keep evolving as your life changes is great. As someone who has spent a good majority of his life on the water and owned many different types of boats, I really envy the life you’ve chosen to lead. Also, I’ve read a lot of the comments on here and to the sad little people that can only give negative comments, why don’t you take a look at your own life and figure out what makes you so miserable and then change it!

My record for sailing naked was on a Nacra 6.0 for about 3 hours. Three weeks is a challenge that I need to beat! Now it's turned into a competition :)

Yes, but it happens, and it's those freaky coincidences that get you. We had a car club meeting, and the next week I had an email from our club historian/photographer saying "Here are some pictures from last week" - except it wasn't FROM the club historian it was forwarded by another address from him second-hand... but I clicked the link.
I then spent the next week trying to put stuff back in place and warn people not to fall for similar crap if it came up from my account, and so on. It's easy done.
I just wish there was more sign of our phenomenal tenchno-capability tracking this stuff down and roasting the balls off the perpetrators.

Safe travels back to the US! We were looking at a campground yesterday online and I clicked on the video for it. I was so surprised to to see you both doing the review when you were in your RV! I told the hubby “That’s who I have been watching for years!”
Russ is really entertaining and you can really tell he is an expert in his field.
Although we aren't boat people, my husband and I enjoy have been watching your videos every week, for the past year and a half. We love how you include your audience in your adventures. We would love to share with you some things to seek out when you go to Cebu/ the Philippines. Although you will not be on the Large Island Luzon long... maybe just to fly into Manila, we do encourage you to spend sometime exploring. Take some time to visit places of history. Subic Bay in Olongopo City use to be where the Navel Base was. Then Clark AB in Angeles City, both were America's Life line to WWII, Korean & Vietnam Wars. Also Camp O'Donnell which was part of the trail of the Bataan March during WWII. There is a monument there in memory of those who where in prisoned as well as passed there. Camp O'Donnell became a barracks to house members of the USAF as well as other military branches. It was a Radar Site for the USAF when we were stationed at Clark AB in the '80s (when Marcos Sr was over thrown). There is also Baguio City and Camp John Hay (also part of the Bataan March). It is important to experience the Local cuisine. (Except Balut, you don't want to go there) soda or water have served in a plastic bag with straw. (I use to be able to tell how many soda's a day my husband had, by the rings on his T-Shirt.) A must taste is the barbecued bananas on a stick. Chicken Adobo, Pancit, and a few other dishes as well. Also try Rambutan fruit and Leeches fruit. Watermelon seeds too. A must with your boat is a visit to The 100 Islands. Enjoy your time in the PI and Please take time to experience its culture. Be careful of the Two Step Viper, Brown Recluse and the X Spider. the Rice Beetle...can be the size of 4 inches. There are also Cobra's and Pythons so FYI. Sorry to invade your comments. Just wanted to share some areas that might be of interest to you, after you visit and collect your new home. Enjoy and hope this was helpful. Having joined during the RV days, and now onto the second boat I'm super thankful.
A few years ago my wife and I decided to build out a sprinter van, did that for 2 years following my job. Van is now for sale, with boat life in the near future.
While we won't be able to take off into the blue, (dang job) we are following in the same general path of the Wynn's.
Luckily I only work half the year, 3 weeks on 3 off, so we will be able spend a good amount of time learning boat life.
I will someday, somehow, be the maniac you see anchored next to you, having finally reached our decade plus dream.
I bring good wine and bourbon. ;)

So great to see you both on your journey and all the decisions you have made that will benefit both depending on machine or weather and economically green for the environment. I started watching and following you both when entered the Pacific and most of all when you visited my family island 🏝 "Kenutu" you bought tears to my eyes because I grew up there as a kid and remembered my first boat was built from a coconut husk, the sailing was made of leaves and coconut stem and thing you put at the bottom to make the boat go straight was a sea shell...it sailed from Kenutu Island to Ofu Island, well enough of memories so good that you guys are back in the state but can't wait to see you guys sailing again.
