SPOILERS FOR THE BLOOD MOON pokemon, you have been warned. This goes for everyone unless you already know, That whole sequence with Blood moon Ursaluna (from start to finish to be exact) is just so neat, the small minigame of basically snap even though it is super short, the music call back from legends arceus and Ursaluna sort of being like a titan boss amongst many other things is so much fun. Also don't worry, unlike many other pokemon in Scarlet and Violet, you can't actually not catch this Ursaluna after defeating it as the option for 'Don't Catch' is greyed out so the game literally forces you to catch it and I think you can catch it with basically any balls since it feels like a guaranteed capture moment sorta scenario. This only happens with blood moon Ursaluna and Ogerpon though, as far as I know. I could be wrong since I used a master ball on mine purely for style, lol.
Poltchageist is really common in the bigger bamboo forest, down by the river. Nearly always have two spawned there whereas I’ve never seen one where Austin was looking for them
I don't remember if that's where I caught one, or if it's a counterfeit or not, but, I caught one yesterday, within only 30 minutes of playing the game. It wasn't as long as he said that it took him to find and catch one. And, I didn't even do anything like making a sandwich to up the odds or anything either.
Finished the Pokédex earlier. It wasn’t too hard because I already had half of them and most Pokémon were at level 70 so I only had to level them up once to evolve them and there weren’t a lot of special evos
Across the river near the waterfall from the Bamboo area where this video was hunting Poltchageist, there is a static sparkling Poltchageist encounter, it’s Water terra so you can use false swipe
I see a johnstone fan! I have to say he seems to be the shiny master! I would love to see him, pm7, and you do a shiny catching competition for charity
Quick Tip for the Legendary 3, to improve catch rates on top of the standard false swipe/status, go to the festival area and there is a stand that sells noodles. (they give you a poison catch boost of 2) this will help increase your catch rates
Yknow the whole joke about if you spam b when throwing a Pokeball to catch a pokemon it will magically catch without fail, well... you cannot make this up i did this jokingly with all three loyal three pokemon and it worked.
Getting the authentic forms of poltchagiest and sinistcha was surprisingly easy. Good vid.
It just hit me that if we're seeing adamants descendent. That means 1. Our boi died. 2. He got himself a wife. 3. I dont think adamant had 1 child, if we go off him being a village chief, they tend to have more than 1 kid. So i hope we see more descendents now
I completely forgot I had a friend ball, so Ogerpon went in it because she's friend shaped 😊 I'm currently in front of monkidori, but going to catch tomorrow because it's late here and sleep is important. I found a bunch of poltchageist at the bamboo trees near the waterfall below the area in the video (should see a bunch of heracross too). Managed to snag an artisan form after a few attempts within an hour
I love the phonetic dialog of the Loyal Three; I think Munkidori is a nod to Mr. Mackey since he says M',Kay 😂 Then Fezendipiti makes me think of Let's Go to Prison:
Hey Austin, just wanted to know if you were planning on doing a video on isolated encounters in Kitakami. I'm tempted to hunt Poltchageist but don't know what the encounter tables are in it's spawning area for day and night.
great video for the people who havent yet figured out how to get the pokemon, ive already gotten the pokedex filled earlier today.. the reward wasn't particularly worth it IMO.. you get a glimmering charm which gives extra tera shards from 5* raid battles and higher, so people will have mixed feelings over this, some will like it, some wont see much use from it because they've hoarded so many..
Tip: If you want to catch the Loyal Three in low catch rate balls like Luxury, what you want to do is get a Trevenant with its hidden ability Harvest, have it hold a Leppa berry, and then use the moves Skill Swap (TM98) and Trick (TM109) on the opponent. This makes it so the opposing Pokemon will constantly regenerate the PP of its moves. There is still an EXTREMELY small chance the Pokemon could struggle itself to KO, so if that bothers you, you could teach a Pokemon Sunny Day (TM49) to force Harvest to activate. I never bother with that though
Since I was using a lot of Luxury Balls, for Munkidori, Fezandipi, and Okidori, I used a fast Maushold that knew Switcheroo and Thunderwave and also gave it choice specs or choice scarf to give to either three. A Pokémon that had the pressure ability to not have the battles drag on forever and had Chansey that knew heal pulse just in case either three had very low health from struggling.
Phillybeatzu: "I'm thinking of doing a pokedex video." AustinJohn: "Yeah, me too. How are you going to set yours up?: Phil: "I was going to do all the special evolutions." Austin John, Phil, Osirus, Blaines, Reversal, KB Pokemon, PanFro Games, aDrive, HDvee...
I love how the reveal of Poltchageist, and upon the release of Sinistcha, some people went crazy over it "breaking all of the rules of convergent Pokemon" What "rules"? We had two lines to look at for examples. One line is only a letter off from the more familiar one and visually looks incredibly similar, the other just has the same ending to the names and vaguely resembles it. "But it shares a type with the original!" Great, so does Galarian Zigzagoon. "But they reversed the names!" So? Two examples are not hard set rules. Their rules are whatever they want them to be. They broke the Mega rule of "gen 1 only", they broke the fact Regional Variants used to fully mirror the originals with their lines by having Galarian Meowth not evolve into a Galarian Persian and giving Galarian Linoone an evolution. Hell, they've never strictly followed the fan notion of colour theming by type. These "rules" are arbitrary similarities recognized by fans, not actual design rules.
Hi Austin , I have a question about the every time rotating screen character. Do you have a tip that I can play this game like the other Pokémon games normal screen working ? Thank you
Aloan forms were not mentioned. I’ve seen a few trainers use them but are they available in game or do we need to use Home to get them? hey austin i've noticed that there's a perfect strat that u probs never knew when catching legendaries which will save time on resetting the game over and over. u get Trevenant (since they're available from this dlc now) with harvest ability and let it hold leppa berry. then it should learn 2 moves (can be learned from TMs) skill swap + trick. the other poke u need is any poke that can do spore (or thunder wave tho spore is better to take less dmg and more time). u start off with trev and use skill swap on 1st turn then do trick on 2nd (which now starts the infinite pp strat...an endless loop lol). after that u switch to ur spore/thunder wave (and false swipe too) poke and throw the balls at will 😛

Correct can't miss this capture it's a 100% but like raid let's you pick what ball you want it in
Poltchageist is really common in the bigger bamboo forest, down by the river.
I got a shiny applin yesterday and evolved it into dipplin. It’s signature move changes colour when it’s shiny :)
On the new pltchageist, you can run to the bamboo field under where austin is showing in the video and there is a second spawn.
Ate the blue candy from the food stall to increase ghost encounters then just kept tossing quick balls until the one I caught’s dex entry confirmed it as the genuine article then I just caught a second one to keep unevolved
I found both just close to each other without meaning to.
I've caught about 60 and only 1 has been authentic so far. It's not a bad hunt, though, like you said the Ghost Encounter Power really helps.
You can get outbreaks with only Artisan form. I was able to shiny hunt Artisan form this afternoon in this way.
😂 missed opportunities I went at it the hard way no food or sammich to better odds lol
@@Waydewilson89 I actually hunted for sinistea WITH the sandwich after I’d finished poltchagiest and sinistcha and I didn’t get my first authentic sinistea until SECONDS after the sandwich wore off
Really enjoyed the teal mask (Kieran is my favorite character from the dlc) it has such a great story
Wild hearing it took you 41 minutes to get Okidogi, but I get it, it's all RNG. I used Premier Balls for the Loyal Tree, got Munkidori in 7 ish minutes, Okidogi in 2, with the first ball I threw, and then Fezandipidi took me probably around 20ish, as it kept waking up, and I was swapping Gallade with Breloom after got hit with Swagger. Good vid.
One thing I realized is that when you fight Bloodmoon Ursaluna, they play music, and sound effects from Legends, a nice throw back
It just hit me that if we're seeing adamants descendent. That means
1. Our boi died.
2. He got himself a wife.
3. I dont think adamant had 1 child, if we go off him being a village chief, they tend to have more than 1 kid. So i hope we see more descendents now
I mean, Adaman lived like 200 years ago, ofc hes dead
8:20 when he said bloodmoon ursaluna, a bloodmoon occurred in my tears of the kingdom game🤣
Pro tip for Sweet & Tart apples, you can find them all around Kitakami, but especially in the Apple tree area.
I completely forgot I had a friend ball, so Ogerpon went in it because she's friend shaped 😊
I'm currently in front of monkidori, but going to catch tomorrow because it's late here and sleep is important. The loyal three I'll probably try and catch in the same pokeballs as they're very similar.
I'm so grateful for the info on Poltchageist and Dipplins exact item locations though, thank you as always Austin, you make the best videos for us ❤
This man taught me so much about pokemon in general...MUCH respect!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your content is always of the highest quality and we all salute you
Fun fact: there's a terastalized Poltchagiest on the right side of the map
Edit: I figured you would've covered this but the Hisuian Growlithe gift Pokémon also has it's hidden ability which is neat
I was so excited when the Pokémon Legends Arceus music started playing. I hope they make another Pokémon Legends game in the future.
In case anyones is wondering, the natures and IVs for Ursaluna and Ogrepon are fixed.
Natures
Yes
Iv
Not sure, since i was able to get some diferent ivs sometimes
Hilariously, after I just decided to catch the Tera Counterfeit for the sake of catching it last night, I sent Ogerpon out to fight several other Pokemon nearby and my Pokedex said it had updated after a Poltchagiest was beaten.
Looked it up, it was the Artisan form.
Thankfully I'd saved right after catching the Tera Counterfeit one, so just had to keep soft resetting to figure out which one was the Artisan one and catch it, giving it a star and diamond mark so I'll be able to tell it apart from the Counterfeit ones.
Randomly finding it like that, when I wasn’t even aware there was a variation like Sinistea, I find that hilarious
Sounds like Gholdengo is a good choice for the Loyal 3 minus Okidogi. Can Thunder Wave, immune to Swagger and Flatter, can't be poisoned, immune to Poison-type moves, can Recover off damage, groovy
my day / night cycle litterally changes by simply hard resting the game ive noticed it consistently without changing the time :)
That was such a good "into" Austin at 0:00
Dude I wanted Poltchageist so badly! Thanks!
Pro tip for legendaries. Stock up on quick balls. Save before u battle. Quick ball it and if it fails reset. It will work.
I literally just walked up that hill and ran straight into an artisan poltchageist
Exactly what I wanted 🤣 I just needed this for the dex
The GREATEST Austin!
Which reminds me, I need to download the DLC, but I am too busy playing another game.
I’m very much invested in seeing it through 😅
Who's here that already finished the dex but is still watching because Austin deserves the watch time
I also went ahead and watched Johnstone’s medal video during Okidogi battle. The other two were a walk in the park and Okidogi battle goes on for half an hour.
Can I brag here a little bit? 2nd Poltchageist I encountered was a shiny. Found it full odds completely by accident earlier this afternoon. It was Counterfeit of course. I'm not THAT lucky. Still pretty stoked
Mackey since he says M',Kay 😂
Then Fezendipiti makes me think of Let's Go to Prison:
Hey Austin, just wanted to know if you were planning on doing a video on isolated encounters in Kitakami. I'm tempted to hunt Poltchageist but don't know what the encounter tables are in it's spawning area for day and night.
07:05 And with that, Snorlax is back in being the one who can become a ribbon master.
I also caught The Loyal Three in Luxury balls. Munkidory took 9, Fezendipiti took 6, and Okidogi only took 2
The ursaluna quest is the type of Pokémon content we want 🙏🏼
Also, the noodles you can buy give poison capture power lv.2 to help with catching the Loyal three. 😁
Bloodmoon Ursaluna was definitely the peak of this DLC.
My wife introduced me to your channel and I’m so glad you have helped me encounter and catch all new pokemon!
I like how you had the initial instinct to go with the dream ball. I did too
great video for the people who havent yet figured out how to get the pokemon, ive already gotten the pokedex filled earlier today.. the reward wasn't particularly worth it IMO.. you get a glimmering charm which gives extra tera shards from 5* raid battles and higher, so people will have mixed feelings over this, some will like it, some wont see much use from it because they've hoarded so many..
I never bother with that though
the 'getting every medal in black 2' vid is such a good video, cant believe i hadnt found that creator yet
Hey Austin, just a fun fact, the male and female basculegion will say different things in the entry. Still just one entry, but I thought it was cool
Phillybeatzu: "I'm thinking of doing a pokedex video."
AustinJohn: "Yeah, me too. How are you going to set yours up?:
Phil: "I was going to do all the special evolutions."
Austin: "All right, I'll do how to get all of the new ones. You release yours first and then I'll go 30 minutes after you."
😂
I love how all the poké TH-camrs all know each other. Austin John, Phil, Osirus, Blaines, Reversal, KB Pokemon, PanFro Games, aDrive, HDvee...
you are the only youtuber I trust with finding anything in videogames
I need that guide for shiny Munchalx Austin plz!
You can get them in mass outbreaks and aren't overly rare in the wild
@@lucariouserstevetheyre talking about the mochi minigame
A Kingambit with PRESSURE as an attack tank/stall is crazy enough to ask for struggle to happen
great vid btw
For the Ursaluna photo minigame, I never got a picture of the Vikavolt. Instead, I went into a cave and got a picture of some Salandit
I love how the reveal of Poltchageist, and upon the release of Sinistcha, some people went crazy over it "breaking all of the rules of convergent Pokemon"
What "rules"?
Hi Austin ,
I have a question about the every time rotating screen character. Do you have a tip that I can play this game like the other Pokémon games normal screen working ?
Thank you
Aloan forms were not mentioned. I’ve seen a few trainers use them but are they available in game or do we need to use Home to get them? Also has anyone noticed any new Pokémon that can be brought into Scarlet/Violet only through home. I checked and only saw Darkrai. I believe it was unavailable previously. Correct me if wrong or if any others have been added.
Shaymin, Manaphy, Phione and Jirachi are also added in
4:27 - there is also Terra one in north end of Mossfell Confluence in little bamboo forest :)
The standard PokeBall fits the trio the most. But if the masta ball existed it would fit too
That was a good “into” :)
Hi Austin, what kinda controller are you using? It doesn't look like the switch pro controller.
got a shiny marked artisan sinischa first try ! have been looking for the tea pot for it great video
You can also get every annoying evolution ( like Milotic ) in tera raid battle. I caught all the annoying one like that 😂
I did notice Manaphy and Phione but was not sure if they were in there before. Thanks for the update. If only someone did a video on these update haha
I'm trying to figure out which method is best for shiny hunting white striped basculin either doing sparkling power 3 water and using go method knocking out everything in the pond or breeding one doing the masuda method also I'm not sure if it's possible to get a outbreak of one either so any help would be nice
Oh dang I didn't know you could catch all of the Loyal Three! I thought you had to pick only one like a starter, but I'm glad that's not the case!
The mini game for the BloodMoon Ursaluna reminded me a lot like Pokémon Snap, which was intriguing. Great video, like always Austin John.
I envy Austin’s 3 minute Fezandipiti capture.
Took me 2 hours and 80 ultra balls.
got it on 3 pokeballs, though brought it to red
I just used a Masterball on it.
I also caught my Ursaluna in a moon ball 😊
I'll need to check out that Johnstone video. I saw that he was getting a group of people in NY to be able to do all of the medals in BW2.
I like this ursaluna better than the original but it really bugged me how they kept it normal/ground, that worked for original ursaluna because it could make max use out of guts/facade but with blood moon being a special attacker, I really wish they’d swapped the normal type with either ghost, dark or psychic
Are Ogerpon and BM Ursaluna nature-locked? Only attempted Ogerpon 4x but had Lonely nature every time. I’ve tried googling but nowhere seems to confirm
I caught a Sinistcha yesterday in a raid den without having found a Poltchageist yet. I was super excited! It wasn't the Masterpiece form though, but 🤷♀️.
I went after munkidori, and I accidentally fainted it. I went after the bird one caught that one and munkidori respawned when I returned
I'm honestly so glad that ogerpon's other forms aren't boxable, redoing the dlc several times for my living form dex was not something I was looking forward to lol
8:38 big description on the human, then best description for Growlithe-H
For the basculin I recommend going to fight spinarak with head smash they get destroyed and it does around 68 damage to yourself per head smash
hey austin i've noticed that there's a perfect strat that u probs never knew when catching legendaries which will save time on resetting the game over and over.
u get Trevenant (since they're available from this dlc now) with harvest ability and let it hold leppa berry. then it should learn 2 moves (can be learned from TMs) skill swap + trick. the other poke u need is any poke that can do spore (or thunder wave tho spore is better to take less dmg and more time).
u start off with trev and use skill swap on 1st turn then do trick on 2nd (which now starts the infinite pp strat...an endless loop lol). after that u switch to ur spore/thunder wave (and false swipe too) poke and throw the balls at will 😛
no joke the second I go there I find a genuine one. I was following your guide went to the place had a look around preparing myself for the grind and I wanted to see if they spawned naturally and lo and behold there there was caught it didn't think much until I saw it in the Pokedex realised it was a genuine first one I've caught😂
