Hey, this is a reupload with new details added that were comments in the last video and they were so good that I decided they needed to be in this video. so this is a reupload. Thank you to everyone who leaves helpful info for readers of the comment section.
There is a cave just south of Polar Plaza where Torchic, Rotom, Snubbull, Alolan Sandshrew/Vulpix, and Duraludon spawn and if you stand in the entrance, you can get them to spawn while you continue to auto battle. The auto battle gets confused eventually so it's not truly afk, but it's a very good place to farm TM materials for the Item Printer (and Duraludon Tarnish is among the 54% group for the Printer)
I've been using the cave in Eastern Province (Area Three) where the Bagon and Sableye spawn from the wall. Sableye Gems and Bagon Scales are worth 45% each. The gems will be around 74% of the total drops you get.
Normal encounter sandwich (preferably normal encounter 2) and a FAST MOVING fighting type over by the Rucbah base will net you approximately 600 Hapiny dust per sandwich which will equal out to like 40 10-print runs. if we could make a normal encounter and normal item sandwich, chancey farming would be the #1 method for both LP farming and print fodder.
I wanna let you know your constant commitment to integrity, information and accuracy is noticed and greatly appreciated Austin. Thank you for doing what you do! Now I have to get back to eating my Macaroni
I made this on the first one but I'll try to condense it for this one. A stretegy for materials: Use a Normal Encounter Power Sandwich near the Fairy Team Star Base to grind for Happiny Dust from wild Chansey and Blissey using Auto Battles. After the sandwich expires, you will most likely have 999 happiny dust. Now go to the item printer and proceed to do 50 prints of 10 items at a time using the Auto Select Function. At the Master Ball Tier this will be 1,500BP worth of prints. The Auto Select Function automatically selects and uses the item you have the most of and since you have 999 Happiny Dust it will use that. This will cost you 750 Happiny Dust at 15 happiny dust per 10 prints. You should now have 249 Happiny Dust (unless you had 250 or more of another material). Now here are the benefits of doing this: 1. Using the Auto Select options makes printing items go faster. 2. Peace of mind, you won't have to worry about dipping into other materials and should always have some leftover for TM's. Hope this helps! Edit: On the off chance AustinJohnPlays sees this, thanks as always for the information!
Yes! If you hadn't commented this, I was going to. I farmed happiny dust to sell for money while also leveling pokemon, so when I first realized that different mats gave different percentages, I knew happiny dust would be perfect for it. I use the Curry sandwich for encounter lvl 2 and farm on the left side of the river (when looking down from the pkm center) I find that blissey spawn more on that side than the right side.
@amikochapman4952 I was curious after you responded to this. I just tried the left side. I could be wrong, but the density of spawns just seems better over there overall
Austin John's the reason I farm EVs up there already - Throwing on a set of Power items to a new team I want to train and getting them a few HP EVs in the process is just so easy with a wave of Chansey/Blissey roaming about. Glad to see Happiny Dust is so good for this!
in the MB tier, I had one where I got a total of 8 ability patches. and doing this, i was able to hit max money countless times from the sellables. such a fun feature added to this game
I just watched the originally un-updated version like half an hour before this version was published. Good little tidbits of info added in the update edits.
8:20 Big Tip If the lid doesn’t immediately open after a print job the bonus is happening Just a visual cue to let you know immediately that you are getting a bonus
To easily farm happiny dust, any normal encounter sandwich in the fairy area at the top of Paldea can easily get you tons of chansey, and chansey gets you more drops compared to happiny, so it's great for farming.
Surprised he didn't mention: The old EXP method is now also an item lotto method. Travel far north in Paldea to the fairy Team star base, pop a normal type sandwich [even just level 1] and go to town on the spawns as they are almost entirely Chancey. Gives good XP even in autobattle AND can get to 999 happiny Dust in no time. Great way to get some passive XP farming [and no EV if you auto battle] and now free items?
Honestly, just farm any mass outbreak if the drop from the pokemon in the outbreak is 20% or better. I was farming milcery when they were still having several outbreaks at a time in the Terarium. I also got 4 shinies in that process, because I was using the farming sandwich that gave me more item drops.
Why would anymone need XP farming? XP skyrockets so high while doing absolutely nothing. There are Pokémon in my team that I never use muxh because they level so hard when I don't use them and are at the same or higher level than Pokémon I do use.
I love how you can get XP candies from this thing. Rather than doing annoying raids I can just run around in the terrarium auto battling, keeping an eye out for shinies, and gathering BP then I can gamble. It's great.
Something interesting to note about the printer is that the total items needed to progress to the next stage are cumulative. I printed a bunch of items in the great ball tier on accident (thinking I was progressing to ultra ball tier.) I upgraded my printer after realizing what I was doing and did one more print and I was able to upgrade again immediately to master ball tier!
If you need Pokémon materials, I recommend going behind polar plaza (closer to the wall) and activating a dragon spawn 3 sandwich. Then just autobattle bunch of duraludons and use the duraludon tarnish because it gives a very high percentage for the printer.
If you're playing Scarlet, try activating a Steel Spawn sandwich instead - you won't filter out Beldum, which is one of the "Elite Four" of material value (along with Ditto, Happiny, and Magby.) Violet players should avoid Steel because Sandshrew claws are... not so valuable. Alternately, hanging out in central Savanna is quite good. Besides having two top-tier hunts (Chansey and Magmar), there are plenty of Rhyhorn, Exeggcute, and Trapinch which are also high tier (45-54%).
Dunno if you mentioned it but the pokemon drops/items start giving more % the more you raise your rank. You can see that in your video even, venonat fangs at 2:36 at 12% and they are 18% at 11:06
I was eating macaroni and cheese out of my Sport ball while watching this. Also wanted to bring up that not only was it 1/1,000 odds to get the rare balls in the scamomatic, you had to actually be selective in what you put in! With this, just hit the auto button and go! Also, I think I will do replays and hold off on catching Koridon/Miridon until I can get my hands on Safari balls for them!
Oh...the amount of hours I used to spend grinding for those dang Apricorns just to get a single rare ball. Nothing at all 99% of the time! Sometimes I wanted to stick my hand through my TV screen and choke that freaking machine!!🔥😡🔥
I do want to point out that Happiny dust is super easy to farm since we can use a Normal encounter sandwich up by the Fairy Team Star base to basically guarantee only Chansey with a chance of Blissey spawn and then just massacre them via auto battle for tons of dust. Also a good way to power level a mon if you want to save on candies while doing this. I had almost a max stack of happiny dust from grinding there previously and that served me well for the item printer. Also the Auto Select feature seems to prioritize the highest % material that you have the most of cause it was always going for my happiny dust which was great for me.
for those who arent aware, in the coastal biome im pretty sure it is you'll find alot of chansey spawning so go ham with auto battles and get your happiny dust, you can even make a sanga increase spawn rate of normal type pokemon. I'm yet to finish the DLC and even get above 1k BP but im getting there so i havent got this machine yet.
Honestly, I never imagined I'd get this much enjoyment out of a game info channel. They're typically just resources I use as I'm playing a game. But this one really stands out as entertaining, even if I already know all the information in a video. And the shared community of tips in the comments make it even better.
That is so true! I was chatting with the Target cashier who commented on my Electabuzz keychain this summer & he asked me where I got info on how to shiny hunt. I was like "you gotta check out Austin John!". I gave him the channel & next time I was in for junk the guy told me he was back into Pokemon just because of Austin's Arceus videos.
Luxury ball tops everything. It's the best ball in the game because it helps raise friendship and who doesn't want to be friends with their team? People who don't use Luxury balls that's who
I apparently missed the original upload because I was asleep (terrible sleep schedule lol), but (and I know I'm not the only one to say this) it's awesome that you reuploaded a video with accurate information this vital. Most people would have a pinned comment explaining everything, and while I think you did in some other cases, this was something that clearly you were passionate about (like me, I love the item printer I'm literally out of TM materials lmao, I'd recommend anyone currently looking to grind it before the delibird event to grind the Milcery out outbreaks) and reuploaded an edited version. This is awesome to me, Awesome John Plays (yes that was an intentional pun, not trying to mis-say your channel name)
I don't know if you mentioned this, but it looks like not only does upgrade reduce price of BP but also the number of materials needed since their percent value increases.
A wise man once said, "Work lovingly, not hard. Why would you want it to be hard? " I think you do your work lovingly, and it shows. I appreciate all you do for us!
You mentioned about wanting Happiny Dust. One of my mainstays when it comes to training is back in Paldea. When I want to build up my team for the end of the game/when I start building new teams post game for variety, I always make a beeline to the beach to the north where you encounter Ortega’s fairy type base. One ham sandwich later and you’ll be surrounded with Chanseys and Blisseys, which will not only allow your team to jump ahead in short order (as long as each Pokémon you’re training has a physical attack move), but will give you all the Happiny dust you could ask for. I’m currently at 999, and when I upgrade the printer I’ll be making use of them as resources. Thanks for the video. I’ve started using the Item Printer before, but it’s good to see all the features available.
Lunala, asleep with 1HP has a 7.06% chance to be caught in a Moon Ball. With the Catching Charm and 400/400 Dex it's 7.582%. "Thus, you have at least a 50% chance of catching it within 9 balls and at least a 95% chance of catching it within 38 balls."
DUDE @AustinJhonPlays,The UltraLocke Music at the end HIT ME BRO,I Loved the ultralocke so much and rewatched it so many times, still waiting for that mid release!
Anyone got any idea if the items put in could determine the output? The cram-o-matic had some fairly helpfully combinations for all the alcreamie sweets including star and ribbon. Or does it truly not matter at all? Also keep up the great work John ❤
One thing to note is that from my experience Duraladon's material is the best to use here It has high value, and making a static encounter in order to farm Duraladon is really easy because it basically spawns almost anywhere at the Polar Biome with a Dragon Encounter sandwich
Venturing into my Indigo Disk DLC now. Almost completed my Teal Mask Dex and obviously the story was done earlier so looking forward exploring the 2nd part. Awesome stuff man! Thanks for all the info everyone!
Also i think its a bug but using the auto select inflates the perfents. As it would select slowpoke claw, a 18% item at master hall, hut only use 1 to actually craft
This weekend has a Delibird outbreak event, and Delibird Parcels are in the second highest tier of items for the printer. Time to bully a lot of Delibirds to try and get balls. There’s also Blissey raids alongside the Iron Bundle event, but I don’t remember how much Happiny materials they drop.
I think it got reuploaded because he forgot to mention upgrading it to Master Ball has a chance to get multiples of an item. 😮 By the way, what's the pose you used for the thumbnail and how did you get it?
11:10 is why I love Austin John. He not only adds so so much to the community, but he is also willing scrap his work, and redo it to ensure viewers get the best available information 👏🏻💯. Thank you sir for saving us hours of headache AND enabling us to get the most out of our game time
I'm glad I found your channel because you're fine with re-uploading to change from your mistakes and acknowldging it. Must respect and appreciate your grind man. Also I was EV training with chanseys for HP so that happiny dust was like candy for me when leveling the lotto.
TLTR: thanks for the great vids ! Just wanna say [like many others here] I really appreciate [and very much enjoy] your uploads. I've always loved playing pokemon games but have never gone as deep as meta players. With the newer games like SV where you do harder raids its crucial to have pokemon trained proper which I've never even attempted the majority of my teams are always ones I like and upon inspection almost always have the worst stats, but they're mine and I would never swap em out in game. Your videos on how to use the right items and such to make them actual useful really helps 🥰 And now I don't feel bad going into raids knowing that I'm the reason we likely lost because my trash states mon doesn't pull its weight like it does with your training guidance. Thanks for your very detail well thought out videos keep it up 🥰🥰
I'm glad i watched this guide! After fully upgrading the Item Printer, i triggered the Poke Ball Lotto 3 times and got 6 Level Balls, a Fast Ball, a Moon Ball, as well as a Beast Ball to replace the one i used for Terapagos!
Quick word of advice, the auto select can be inefficient at times. I recommend looking over the items used if the amount of BP used goes above 10 or so above the limit, as sometimes the game will just use items that are not necessary to reach the limit, like an extra Venonat fang which can end up costing you in the long run
I actually managed to get a sport ball in SwSh. Used it to catch a Galarian Slowpoke and bred a Galarian and Slowking that I'm now using in a lot of SV raids.
This printer has to be the most fun out of the two crafting methods, Some people complained it's basically gatcha except this one needs farming and it's just a fun past time. And far better than the lotto from previous games. I might spend all my points on this one day just to see how busted it gets. So far I've spent like 3k BP and selling most of the items gave me like 4 million money. They defo made this so we could buy the super expensive clothes from that team star member, and I'm also going to go buy every bit of customization in the game with this just for completion sake.
so a small change of getting multiple master balls seems worth it. Given all the legends that are running around. Also, The metal alloy is a reward for getting blueberry dex to 190 entries. So this machine giving one periodically means that you can get at least three.
If you want lots of Happiny Dust, you can eat an Encounter Power Normal x2 sandwich (one of the ones you should have a recipe for without making a custom sandwich) and go down to the cave where Roaring Moon spawns, you can find plenty of Chansey just inside that cave, by the entrance.
Another tip, for just 100BP you can get a meal at the cafetaria with item drop power lvl 2 for all types. You can date-skip to get either a Magby-, Beldum- or Happiny-line outbreak (all 68% in the item printer) in the terrarium and quickly knock them all out with the synchro machine. This will top up your good materials quite fast as well. LVL 2 item drop power is a good idea in general for when you have one of those outbreaks, it's a lot of extra materials when you're clearing the outbreak.
Man, Austin you rock dude!! Thank you for the stellar content and always grinding so hard to get us the info all about the game that makes our playthroughs even easier. Shoutout to you good sir!
some stats: after a 30-minute session with master ball level item printer, 998 delibird parcels and 19 drilbur claws(both worth 54%), 4 'x2 item bonus', 3 'Poke Ball Lotto', & 1605 BP, I sold all the treasure items from bag to pokemart and I got $2,129,400 out of it.
The Item Printer is by far and away a MAJOR upgrade from the Cram-o-matic, and I'm glad they designed it the way they did. The fact that it not only gets cheaper as you use it, but that you can VERY easily get some amazing items like the different balls and Ability Patches is insane. To anyone who was STILL complaining about "getting competitive Pokemon being too hard," they can shut up now because this gives you literally everything you'll need that can't already be easily bought, the only exception being the IVs of your Pokemon. EDIT: What's the best/quickest way to grind materials for this? My instinct is to say Chansey near the Fairy Team Star Base with a Normal Sandwich, but is that actually the best?
Something I want to mention one of the best sources of material for the item printer is duraludon tarnish at 54% you can farm heaps of it with sandwich 45 and level 2 dragon encounter power in most of the snow biome, each duraludon drops 2-3 so it's realy nice
I'd also bring up, if your shiny hunting via mass outbreaks. When your done with it wipe it out for the materials. It takes like 3 minutes and is an easy way to restock on materials for this
12:01 *Make a ham sandwich and go directly to the Flower Fairy Fields by The Fairy Team Star Base and just desolate the population of Blissey and Chansey for about thirty minutes*
I just want to say, thank you for actually getting a Master Ball from the Lotto on screen. I was annoyed by the lack of confirmation of the MB's not being in the Cram-o-Rant item pool in Sw/Sh earlier in the year, so actually seeing it done here makes me slightly more hopeful in this game... as long as my luck actually goes well.
Only other thing I've noticed is that before the printer opens, it will glow either silver or gold. When it glows gold, you have a gold item. (I think I did have one instance where either it glowed silver even though I got a gold item, or it glowed gold even though I didn't get one. Don't remember which. So it might just be gold == better print)

To easily farm happiny dust, any normal encounter sandwich in the fairy area at the top of Paldea can easily get you tons of chansey, and chansey gets you more drops compared to happiny, so it's great for farming.
Same with Dittos! Go to Medali or the lighthouse next to Porto Marinada and do a normal sandwich and you should get plenty of ditto spawns!
Surprised he didn't mention:
The old EXP method is now also an item lotto method.
Travel far north in Paldea to the fairy Team star base, pop a normal type sandwich [even just level 1] and go to town on the spawns as they are almost entirely Chancey.
YES!!! Hopefully now I can craft enough Moonballs for Lunala encounter! Thank You!
Or you can do what I’m doing and just save before the battle and then reset if it doesn’t work.
Oh god, I can't even imagine. I went through 75 Luxury Balls on that thing!
@@AustinJohnPlays Yay! Math!
Literally copy paste from Butterfree calculator
I thought I was the only one going "Oh... oh?... OH!" When it zooms in with the pokeball lotto 😂 9:55
I used a beast ball to get terapagos because I thought it looked cool. I have never used master balls, I just keep them as trophies.
Master balled the second Miraidon just because the colours matched 😅 (wish there was a way to change the original miraidon's regular pokeball)
I was thinking the same thing.
1:12 It's called "something gorgeous" I got the same remodel. I agree with u it's the best one hands down. And of course... "Macaroni" 🤣
Legend says: this isn’t the first time this was uploaded oh yeah, and by the way, Macaroni
Already an updated vid dayum, been watching since Sword/Shield and you've always had good informative stuff out super fast. Keep up the good stuff 👍
Thanks for all your awesome work :)
One thing to note is that from my experience Duraladon's material is the best to use here
It has high value, and making a static encounter in order to farm Duraladon is really easy because it basically spawns almost anywhere at the Polar Biome with a Dragon Encounter sandwich
Can you get Macaroni from the item printer in any tiers?
Austin John is a HOF TH-cam creator lol every time he just spoils us with peak information on all the best games and dlc Thanks Austin!
Are you going to do a video on isolated encounter shiny hunts?
yeas but that takes a while to do
Venturing into my Indigo Disk DLC now. Almost completed my Teal Mask Dex and obviously the story was done earlier so looking forward exploring the 2nd part.
Awesome stuff man! Thanks for all the info everyone!
I don't what sauce I want for my macaroni tonight
Commenting for the reupload. I already new the item printer was gas but this still provided a lot of info i didn't already know. Thanks!
Thank you sir for saving us hours of headache AND enabling us to get the most out of our game time
Macaroni 😎
I'm glad I found your channel because you're fine with re-uploading to change from your mistakes and acknowldging it. Must respect and appreciate your grind man.
Also I was EV training with chanseys for HP so that happiny dust was like candy for me when leveling the lotto.
I liked my own comment
I liked it too
@@Dave-LopezLMAO
At least you're honest about it
TLTR: thanks for the great vids !
Your videos on how to use the right items and such to make them actual useful really helps 🥰
And now I don't feel bad going into raids knowing that I'm the reason we likely lost because my trash states mon doesn't pull its weight like it does with your training guidance.
Oh hey, that me! Thanks for the shoutout. I do agree though, it's so much easier to farm them in this game than in swsh. ^_^
Thanks for the info, finally using it and I"ve gotten two master balls and one beast ball while I watched the reupload!
Man, gotta love when a great video comes out while snacking on some good old macaroni, am I right?
Honestly this item printer is cracked. Anything you could ever want comes outta this thing. It’s amazing
Hey man just found your channel again last time I watch a video of yours was in 2018 of Lets go cool to see your growth from then to now keep it up!
I actually managed to get a sport ball in SwSh. Used it to catch a Galarian Slowpoke and bred a Galarian and Slowking that I'm now using in a lot of SV raids.
Man I love eating my macaroni dinner and watching two Austin John videos.
Never thought I'd hear him say "balls" so many times in one video 🤣
It's a huge pain 1) realizing you've messed a thing up and 2) having to reupload. Kudos for putting in the effort.
Thank you for the explanation of re-upload. I love how thorough you are with your information
One of the best TH-camrs lol He should definitely have a guide like this on life, I could only imagine 😂
This is amazing, I love how we can get some fancy pokeballs by using our items
If you want lots of Happiny Dust, you can eat an Encounter Power Normal x2 sandwich (one of the ones you should have a recipe for without making a custom sandwich) and go down to the cave where Roaring Moon spawns, you can find plenty of Chansey just inside that cave, by the entrance.
I was waiting on this video Thankyou my guy as always 🤝🏾🔥
This printer is truly a gift. I think I've collected at least 3 ability patches and some gold bottle caps in less than an hour.
just commenting to support this reuploaded version, great video austin :)
12:00 Level 2 Normal Sandwich by Fairy base = easy Happiny Dust
Man, I'm suddenly craving a nice warm bowl of macaroni. You know, the three cheese shell kind from Kraft. Very good macaroni :)
Austin out here doing gods work, you have to be one of the most wonderfully insane people on this platform. Absolute legend.
Already figured it out from other vids, but watched it anyways. You do such a great job!
Thank you! I was stumped on how to make the printer better and now I know! Thanks!
Man, Austin you rock dude!! Thank you for the stellar content and always grinding so hard to get us the info all about the game that makes our playthroughs even easier. Shoutout to you good sir!
some stats:
after a 30-minute session with master ball level item printer,
998 delibird parcels and 19 drilbur claws(both worth 54%),
4 'x2 item bonus',
3 'Poke Ball Lotto',
& 1605 BP,
I sold all the treasure items from bag to pokemart and I got $2,129,400 out of it.
11:06 I was thinking that the video sounded like I had already seen it xd
Something I want to mention one of the best sources of material for the item printer is duraludon tarnish at 54% you can farm heaps of it with sandwich 45 and level 2 dragon encounter power in most of the snow biome, each duraludon drops 2-3 so it's realy nice
I've started adding additional macaroni and cheeses when I make Kraft Dinner because my son is eating more and I don't want to cook another box yet.
I'd also bring up, if your shiny hunting via mass outbreaks. When your done with it wipe it out for the materials. It takes like 3 minutes and is an easy way to restock on materials for this
12:01
*Make a ham sandwich and go directly to the Flower Fairy Fields by The Fairy Team Star Base and just desolate the population of Blissey and Chansey for about thirty minutes*
Thank you for the correction! I was worried people would skip the upgrade never knowing how good it is!
I just watc-... Oh! Update! Already? Sheesh. Austin John putting in that work. Respect!😂
I merely used it to get the sweets needed for all the alcremie forms...the rest of the items i got were nice bonus, also ended up with 2 masterballs
Thank you for this. All my pokemon Facebook groups im on keep posting about this, but not where or how to!
Happy to rewatch this! Thanks for the info, Austin!
The fact that they give you the chance to get more master balls is really good. I have two i haven't even used yet lol
