The funny thing about this dlc is how drayton straight calls out nearly everyone who only have one pokemon thats their own and the others are traded. “First they got to be pokemon you caught in the terrarium, and YOU have to be the one who caught them.” The way i got called out had me cackling lol.
It's actually so annoying you can't catch Walking Wake or Iron Leaves in the DLC. Anybody that was late to getfing the game or just didnt have the time is completely screwed out of both of them.

You know a Pokémon feature is good when you just want more! I do wish the amalgamations from the book were some secret new version, kind of like Enamorus, but this is still great because we do get six new mons instead of two.
I love that the 3 beast basically morphed into dinosaurs. Suicune became a raptor, Raikou is like a brachiosaurus, and Entei is like a styracosaurus (or triceratops)
I can see it. The only reason I say Sinoceratops more is because he’s got a Nose horn but not forehead horns. Triceratops and Pentaceratops have forehead horns. Styracosaurus and Sinoceratops dont
Glad to see some educated gamers here that know their dinosaurs, first time I saw the new Entei I immediately thought Styracosaurus, but a friend called it a Pachyrhinosaurus and bout strangled him XD

I'd have to agree that we hopefully get raid events for all 4 new paradox pokemon similar to walking wake and iron leaves. Since we were only allowed to have 1 of those as well.

The only thing that worried me about being able to 'catch more' is that there seemed to be no Walking Wake (or the Virizion version) even for those who missed them the first time with the raids.
Im surprised that walking wake and iron leaves arent also catchable in the DLC. Feels weird that they are event exclusive, especially if they are needed to complete the bb dex
There are 50 stellar shards, a gold bottle cap, and an ability patch on top of that globe thing in the middle of the terrarium. You can go up there once you can fly
I really hope they do raids in the future, Raging Bolt was the new DLC Pokemon I was looking forward to most =/ Version exclusives is a super outdated concept anyway, same with trade evos. At least those show up in raids now so solo players like me can actually use a Slowking for once but jeez, it's so unfair to those who can't afford both versions of the game..
at least he doesn't have Take Down anymore. I remember the SM/USUM challenge of getting 1 in a beast ball, statistically the least likely catch ever in pokemon.

@@AustinJohnPlays At least you can catch the entire line in raids and easy get them into beast balls. Just have to breed them with ditto for the shiny if you don't want to go through the headache of catching a shiny one in a beast ball.
@@AustinJohnPlaysAh that was a great challenge. I remember I used a Harvest Trevenant with a Leppa Berry and Trick to keep it from dying and a hypnosis Gengar to keep making it fall asleep.
@@MikeTheEnforcer just buy it from the club room computer. 200 points to buy the printer, 200 ( I think, maybe it's 500 as well) for the first upgrade and 500 for the second upgrade. I haven't unlocked the last upgrade yet, need to beat the story first. But you get the pokeball lottery with the second upgrade. Pretty sure the more batches you choose to to at a time (10 max) the quicker you can get the upgrades unlocked..

It's a shame that the Paradox Beasts and Swords of Justice aren't shiny huntable, especially with the other catchable legendaries. Hopefully we can hunt them in a future title.
Hopefully two things 1. We get the paradox forms of either side as events so people who don't have iron cobalion/terakion from violet and Prehistoric Raiku and Entei from Scarlet cause I mean who's really gonna wanna trade these for the other besides completing dex and wanting them back so idk just spit ballin here😅 2. Hopefully we can than combine them to make the one pokemon that we see in both the scarlet and violet books respectively cause that would be awesome like a fusion pokemon like how zekrom/reshiram fuse with kyurem🤩
They should make a DLC that we can go into the past/future in the respective games, that would be amazing. Catch a lot of paradox pokemon.. but probably just wishful thinking

Love the video, minor criticism it is Research Station 2 that Iron Boulder is under. Research station 3 is right before the entrance to the more cave-looking area of Area Zero.
If you fly up ontop of the giant terra globe in the terarium you find some really good items: a gold bottle cap an ability patch and 50 of the new terra shards
Y'know that's actually kinda concerning that the Para suicune and virizion weren't available, as that means we've now got precedent for pokemon that are available only via raids, which I'm not a fan of that idea. Event raids are fun, but I kinda assumed they were just a fun "sneak peek" for the dlc and would be available to all once it came out. Hopefully we get more chances to catch them, but hopefully they'll also have the wherewithal to just make them available in the game.
Hope you check out the Item Printer soon. Best way ever to get more apricot balls, more beast balls and even more master balls. Far FAR better than the Cram-o-Matic was in Sword and Shield.

I believe it's actually from Research Base #2, not 3. I tried from 3 and couldn't find it- and went to 2 and could. This guide (like all of yours) is still awesome- really helped me find Iron Crown! Wish we could shiny hunt them- but still love getting more Paradoxes.
Gouging Fire is sooo incredible design wise! There’s like four different rants that could be had. From the horn, to the Aztec looking crown, to the armor pads on the feet, to the cloud like cape. Incredible!
Last night I caught Raging Bolt in a Nest ball and Gouging Fire in a Heal bal lolll. Also something I found out last night that when you are syncing with your Pokémon, running into wild Pokémon will auto-kill. This includes Shiny Pokémon, it won’t hesitate. Rip the orange Rhyhorn that ran into Moltres :(
Considering they're essentially Legendaries.....I understand why they're a static similar to how Walking Wake and Iron Leaves was in the raid but the major difference there was.......those two wasnt apart of the pokedex at the time and was just an event. Here on the other is literally determined on whether you can get someone to trade with you and trade back.
Are they Legendaries? or are they Paradoxes? They can't be both according to Pokemon. Like how Lunala and Necrozma are legendary Pokemon. I just feel like if they WERE legendary pokemon we would have a method of getting them that was less of a quest than Bloodmoon Ursaluna lol
@AustinJohnPlays I only say that since the Pokemon they paradoxes of are Legendaries. Every other paradox excluding the mascots as far as i can remember their OG counterpart are just regular mons. The only Paradoxes we seem to be only able to get one copy of (outside of say trading) would be "Legendary" Paradoxes so to speak 🙃😋
You know after looking at these paradox Pokémon and completing the story with the final hidden cutscene (I won’t spoil which exact one) I do think these Pokémon could now be considered spoilers for future games (or at least massive hints of what games are coming from Game Freak). Considering that the Gen 2 trio are from the past and Legends Arceus happened centuries ago, I think it’s safe to assume we will be getting a Legends Celebi game. I mean that just makes perfect sense and I think most people already presumed that. To fanboy a bit though, maybe these paradox Pokémon would somehow be involved with Celebi’s time travel, perhaps they were brought into the wrong time and caused havoc in Johto. It’d be incredibly badass if it turned out they were the ones who destroyed Kamado’s village or something along those lines. Or who’s to say when they were brought forward in time to the point of the burning tower, then became reborn as the roaming trio as we know them in the process? Meanwhile the future forms of the gen 5 trio clearly is relating to those games in some way, but with how perfect of a fit the gen 2 paradox forms, are I think there has to be more to it than just remakes. As White and Black were the first Pokémon to have sequels, who’s to say we won’t explore more into the future of the region and end up with White 3 and Black 3 instead? Or with Colress’s studies into wormholes and such who’s to say we won’t be going future into that rabbit hole. Perhaps seeing how and why these robotic Pokémon were made. Either way this DLC has been really fun and I cannot wait to see what Pokémon do next (as long as they learn to clean out their bugs first). I highly doubt paradox Pokémon will return but would be awesome if they did.
I liked how when you were going to sigh off, all the Paradox Pokémon just went to sleep/Sleep Mode. Think Raging Bolt was still awake, but still funny!
If they're all shiny locked, does that mean they're also locked to average size? Getting an even bigger Raging Bolt would be worth grinding for, but I'm guessing that's not an option
Between the shiny locks, the apparent mistake with the static legendary IVs, the fixed middling IV values for all the new legendaries and paradoxes, the incredibly strict exclusivity, and last but not least the fact that two Pokemon of the Blueberry dex are unobtainable to all players currently... all I can say is I would have loved to be a fly on the wall inside GF headquarters in the lead up to this release.
Legendary IVs not being locked to 3-31s is actually a good thing, since it makes it easier to get 0s you need and Bottle Caps are super easy to get nowadays.
@@bluekirby_64 In order to evolve inkay, you have to level him up with the switch upside-down at level 30+. You also have to have any pro controllers disconnected, but lots of people (myself included) can't get him to evolve even with all those requirements met.
I love how it’s like catch rate of 10 and me with a very under leveled team(I was leveling up some mons for the Pokédex) just walks in and gets a quick ball critical capture first turn
I know this is video about the paradoxes but people should be aware that there seems to be a bug going around that all the legendaries from the new static encounters are all locked in with 0 ivs

It's sad this game doesn't have a Diancie yet knowing the Carbinks and crystals are all over the place would be perfect for that to show up to really light things up maybe we will have another shiny mythical like Zeraora in Sword and Shield later and what's with the Island in fog on the top right of Paldea could be another DLC?
So far there is a ridiculous amount of L's being taken by TPC. Shiny locking EVERY single legendary... shiny locking needs to be illegal. Now, we CAN'T complete the dex, because they thought it was smart to only give us a single static encounter of each legendary, so we have to touch trade, and risk the person we are touch trading with bailing with our legendary...

I was watching this video to help me find Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt (find the lightning dog had difficulty with Gouging Fire) and right as he mentioned that Gouging Fire has a catch rate of "10" I hucked a standard Poke Ball at it, got 3 shakes, and caught it on my very first ball. Thank you for the luck, Austin! Raging Bolt was uh...far more difficult, lol.
I've got a take that i think is likely. It's a future Lumiose City with no pokemon population, so you go into the past to fill up your dex, bringing those pokemon into future Kalos
i think it's funny he worded the catch rate thing as "this rate was introduced" because catch rate is just a number in the species' data. it can be anything from 0-255, gamefreak simply only uses a few of the possible values for standardization reasons.
you going to be doing the trade codes again for the version exclusive/trade evos? It helped incredibly with the original dex, and if you put it out in a video I'm sure it'll spread like wildfire
I'm amazed at how quick you go thru the game! I must've spent 6 hours playing just trying to collect enough BP to get the starters. Haven't taken on the elite 4 or taken any classes

I literally haven't played pokemon S&V in like 90 days or so or 120. But, this came up to me, this is the update i've been wanting, this is very amazing and im so excited to get 2 of these. Im on scarlet sadly, because iron boulder is my boy and he just looks so cool, but i feel like Gouging Fire is going to be useful if im in a tough situation. I'm going to do that before Kierian in the league. Thank you austin, this helped me alot.
Past paradox are bigger for the same reason animals and plants used to be bigger. And future needs to be smaller as things are more convenient for use if they’re are small

The shiny locked Legendaries seem to have left a lasting impression. Just probably not the one GF anticipated.

I really do hope they have raids for these in the future. Walking Walk and Iron Leaves were raids and allowed everyone to be able to get the exclusives because of that
I believe it's actually from Research Base #2, not 3. I tried from 3 and couldn't find it- and went to 2 and could. This guide (like all of yours) is still awesome- really helped me find Iron Crown! Wish we could shiny hunt them- but still love getting more Paradoxes.
Gouging Fire is sooo incredible design wise! There’s like four different rants that could be had. From the horn, to the Aztec looking crown, to the armor pads on the feet, to the cloud like cape. Incredible!
Last night I caught Raging Bolt in a Nest ball and Gouging Fire in a Heal bal lolll. Also something I found out last night that when you are syncing with your Pokémon, running into wild Pokémon will auto-kill. This includes Shiny Pokémon, it won’t hesitate. Rip the orange Rhyhorn that ran into Moltres :(

Moltres: "Not on my watch!"
Hopefully the raids for the remaining members of each trio that came out earlier come back again. I’ve still not gotten around to starting Violet yet.
Considering they're essentially Legendaries.....I understand why they're a static similar to how Walking Wake and Iron Leaves was in the raid but the major difference there was.......those two wasnt apart of the pokedex at the time and was just an event.
Here on the other is literally determined on whether you can get someone to trade with you and trade back.
Are they Legendaries? or are they Paradoxes? They can't be both according to Pokemon. Like how Lunala and Necrozma are legendary Pokemon.
I just feel like if they WERE legendary pokemon we would have a method of getting them that was less of a quest than Bloodmoon Ursaluna lol
@AustinJohnPlays I only say that since the Pokemon they paradoxes of are Legendaries. Every other paradox excluding the mascots as far as i can remember their OG counterpart are just regular mons.
The only Paradoxes we seem to be only able to get one copy of (outside of say trading) would be "Legendary" Paradoxes so to speak 🙃😋
Almost as if after 25+ years of doing this, they still overestimate our capacity to have friends.

Strange you can't also catch Iron Leaves and Walking Wake. I know they had an event but what if you missed it or couldn't defeat them? Ah well
You know after looking at these paradox Pokémon and completing the story with the final hidden cutscene (I won’t spoil which exact one) I do think these Pokémon could now be considered spoilers for future games (or at least massive hints of what games are coming from Game Freak).
Considering that the Gen 2 trio are from the past and Legends Arceus happened centuries ago, I think it’s safe to assume we will be getting a Legends Celebi game. I mean that just makes perfect sense and I think most people already presumed that. To fanboy a bit though, maybe these paradox Pokémon would somehow be involved with Celebi’s time travel, perhaps they were brought into the wrong time and caused havoc in Johto. It’d be incredibly badass if it turned out they were the ones who destroyed Kamado’s village or something along those lines. Or who’s to say when they were brought forward in time to the point of the burning tower, then became reborn as the roaming trio as we know them in the process?
Meanwhile the future forms of the gen 5 trio clearly is relating to those games in some way, but with how perfect of a fit the gen 2 paradox forms, are I think there has to be more to it than just remakes. As White and Black were the first Pokémon to have sequels, who’s to say we won’t explore more into the future of the region and end up with White 3 and Black 3 instead? Or with Colress’s studies into wormholes and such who’s to say we won’t be going future into that rabbit hole. Perhaps seeing how and why these robotic Pokémon were made.
Either way this DLC has been really fun and I cannot wait to see what Pokémon do next (as long as they learn to clean out their bugs first). I highly doubt paradox Pokémon will return but would be awesome if they did.
I liked how when you were going to sigh off, all the Paradox Pokémon just went to sleep/Sleep Mode. Think Raging Bolt was still awake, but still funny!

You can also repeatably get them from the Item Printer, along with all the other rare balls.
If they're all shiny locked, does that mean they're also locked to average size? Getting an even bigger Raging Bolt would be worth grinding for, but I'm guessing that's not an option

I think the Ancient Paradox Pokémon are always larger because the air quality and quantity was much more abundant during the dinosaur ages
Between the shiny locks, the apparent mistake with the static legendary IVs, the fixed middling IV values for all the new legendaries and paradoxes, the incredibly strict exclusivity, and last but not least the fact that two Pokemon of the Blueberry dex are unobtainable to all players currently... all I can say is I would have loved to be a fly on the wall inside GF headquarters in the lead up to this release.

Legendary IVs not being locked to 3-31s is actually a good thing, since it makes it easier to get 0s you need and Bottle Caps are super easy to get nowadays.

@@bluekirby_64 In order to evolve inkay, you have to level him up with the switch upside-down at level 30+. You also have to have any pro controllers disconnected, but lots of people (myself included) can't get him to evolve even with all those requirements met.
I love how it’s like catch rate of 10 and me with a very under leveled team(I was leveling up some mons for the Pokédex) just walks in and gets a quick ball critical capture first turn

I know this is video about the paradoxes but people should be aware that there seems to be a bug going around that all the legendaries from the new static encounters are all locked in with 0 ivs

So far there is a ridiculous amount of L's being taken by TPC. Shiny locking EVERY single legendary... shiny locking needs to be illegal. Now, we CAN'T complete the dex, because they thought it was smart to only give us a single static encounter of each legendary, so we have to touch trade, and risk the person we are touch trading with bailing with our legendary...

I was watching this video to help me find Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt (find the lightning dog had difficulty with Gouging Fire) and right as he mentioned that Gouging Fire has a catch rate of "10" I hucked a standard Poke Ball at it, got 3 shakes, and caught it on my very first ball. Thank you for the luck, Austin! Raging Bolt was uh...far more difficult, lol.

I've got a take that i think is likely. It's a future Lumiose City with no pokemon population, so you go into the past to fill up your dex, bringing those pokemon into future Kalos

i think it's funny he worded the catch rate thing as "this rate was introduced" because catch rate is just a number in the species' data. it can be anything from 0-255, gamefreak simply only uses a few of the possible values for standardization reasons.

Dunno what is Game Freak’s deal with Shiny Locks. Ruins so much of the fun for shiny hunters. Also Entei as a Styracosaurus is pretty unexpected/cool.

I literally haven't played pokemon S&V in like 90 days or so or 120. But, this came up to me, this is the update i've been wanting, this is very amazing and im so excited to get 2 of these. Im on scarlet sadly, because iron boulder is my boy and he just looks so cool, but i feel like Gouging Fire is going to be useful if im in a tough situation. I'm going to do that before Kierian in the league. Thank you austin, this helped me alot.

Past paradox are bigger for the same reason animals and plants used to be bigger. And future needs to be smaller as things are more convenient for use if they’re are small
