    Interesting discussion!

Wouldn't recruiting more stem cells lead to a depletion of the stem cells pool sooner? I've done bodybuilding for 20 years and I wonder if I have not depleted my stem cells and if it is not because of that that I have a hard time recovering from injuries now.

Hi thanks for the comment. It is a good point, and I am not clear on this. Whether there we can run out of bone marrow stem cells. Thinking evolutionarily it would make sense that we can. There would not be any point in the body making more stem cells than we would need for a normal life time. But how much a factor this is in terms of healing in old age I don't know and from talking to Christian Drapeau and Dr Andrews I am still not clear!

Was unclear- does Stemregen help HRV? Hope Don can visit our RV resort in Canon City CO Mountain View

Hi Paul, thanks for the question. The HRV part was a general discussion based on Don's experience as a trainer in using it as a metric. We did not discuss whether Stemregen helps with HRV.

I don't understand why having a high HRV is preferable. Doesn't a high variability mean that your heart rate is more sporadic and chaotic (due to more variability/variation in the rhythm?) Wouldn't a more steady, rhythmic heart rate (low variability) be better?

Hi Scott, thanks for the question. My understanding is that the heart changes speed depending on where you are in the breath. When you are breathing out, there is less oxygen in the lungs so there is less point in pumping blood through to pick it up. And the opposite when you breath in. The heart makes tiny adjustments to minimize the number of beats it needs to make. Over a life time it adds up to a large number of beats saved. As Don talked about it also seems to be related to stress level, in that HRV goes down when we are stressed. This I am less clear about, maybe because during stress it is more important to pump the blood than try to save on heart beats?

I can't find any clinical research on this stuff, or actual objective reviews. I did find a stern FDA warning about stem cell products and their unproven, unsubstantiated claims. This episode seems like an extended infomercial for a very questionable product...

Hi Jon, thanks for your comment. My thoughts. The Stemregen supplements have no relationship to stem cell therapies which the FDA regulates, except that they both have the words "stem cells" in them. The aim of the supplements is to mobilize your stem cells and does not involve using external stem cells or taking stem cells from your body and injecting them somewhere else.
Although there may not be any papers on the Stemregen products as such, there are papers on the ingredients used, for example, pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30787601/, pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32521810/.
We did interview Christian Drapeau, the founder and he talked about the on-going trials and he said that they would be releasing papers on these specifically.
The section of HRV is not particularly related to Stemregen and is a general discussion on how to use HRV as a metric to judge recovery and the effectiveness of a training regimen.

Yes, totally agree with you. Neither could I find the supporting data or studies in regards to Stemregent. I just feel that this show is just trying to hype things up with no back up. I recommend that you look into Lifewave technology instead.
