    On Today's Episode:
Being open minded to new science, new research and medical breakthroughs is always a bonus. Too often it’s thought that health is for the rich or privileged that can afford high quality care, but when researchers and physicians begin to share how easy and accessible better health is for everyone, it’s time to really pay attention. Dr. William Li is an internal medicine doctor from the Harvard Medical School Faculty that studies angiogenesis, and is the author of the best-selling book, Eat To Beat Disease. Dr. Li is breaking down the 5 natural body defenses protecting you at all times, even right now, and exactly how powerful foods are that can prevent disease in your body. This interview feels like part of the missing chronicles of optimizing your health to a level you never knew existed, and there’s nothing complicated about it.

    QUOTES:
“In most people's minds, including mine, not being sick is kind of the default definition of being healthy. But that is very problematic” [2:40]
“Health is not just the absence of disease, it is the result of our body's own hardwired defense systems, health defense systems that we’re born with.” [3:09]
“Organic coffee has more bioactives than the pesticide treated coffee because the insects, the natural things in the environment cause it to create more natural health defenses.” [39:36]
“Eating to beat disease is not just picking a particular disease and trying to figure out what the recipe is that the one size fits all. But it's really a journey that we have our whole lives.” [46:24]

Today is 11-30-23. Had the surgery. It was stage 3 but they got if all. Telling me they got it all was huge. I was so determined to not do chemo. I read numerous books and watched MANY TH-cam channels. You really, really helped. I'm glad I learned about turkey tale mushrooms. Also, turmeric and Essiac tea among others. No processed food. Sugar, oh my God....my addictive deamon. I struggle but know it's poison. Will be leaving for the gym soon. Tomorrow is church then yoga. Tuesday is pilattes. I eat correctly now and FEEL GREAT.

11 years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive cancer. I had my vitamin D checked. It was only 3. It took a long time to get the level up to 70 which I understand reflects lowered cancer levels. I also took alot of supplements, ate a lazy budwig program, did IV nutrition (Riordan protocol) and alot of relaxation techniques including tapping, visualization, etc. No chemo or radiation.

    1. Angiogenesis
    2. Stem cells: humans do regenerate but slowly. Present in body as defense.
    3. Microbiome: ecosystem of gut bacteria 🦠. when it’s healthy it optimizes metabolism, fights fight, reduces inflammation, and controls hormones.

I broke my motto of moderation in everything, for 20 years, and ended up with metastatic breast cancer. I was so busy, I didn't have time to cook, and depended heavily on fast foods from Wendy's and McDonald's. I wish I could say I learned my lesson, but I didn't, and have had to endure lots of surgeries and toxic treatments as a result. I finally decided to change my ways and go back to moderating my life. Only time will tell if I survive stage 4 cancer, and heart failure from all the treatments, but I am hopeful. as my cancer has been slow growing.

    Key takeaways for me.
    - food can be just as effective as drugs against cancer according to his extensive research, compared side by side
-Organic foods dont use pesticides so they have way more bioactives which are essential in our bodies to fight disease.
-key foods for health defenses (grand slammers that activate all parts of the defence system as opposed to just some) :
    -Pomegranate
    -strawberries
    -lemon, grapes,
    -bittermelon
    - cranberries (i think?)
    - brocolli
    -blueberries
    - Tomatoes.stewing them makes lypocene more bioavailable. Lycopene is a potent #antioxidant with antiangiogenic (tumor suppressing) activity.
    - Purple potato. “Jaw-dropper” in the book. They contain high levels of the beneficial bioactive compound anthocyanin, which has antiangiogenic activity and antioxidant effects.
-Key areas of defence are androgenesis, stem cells for regeneration, gut microbiome, DNA. Spinach contains nitrogen. Great for healing and blood vessels..
-Sourdough -made with Lactobacillus reuteri, a healthy gut bacteria that helps activate our immune system and speed healing. It also activates our brain and prompts it to release the social, feel-good hormone oxytocin. The research has shown that even when the bacteria is killed by the cooking process, the remnants of the bacteria will still have all those benefits. It's quite amazing."
-Green tea and coffee are also grandslammers Grand because they activate all five health defense systems in the body
-nuts roasted with their skin contain more cancer fighting properties. walnuts contain a natural substance that kills cancer stem cells.
    - omega 3 is critical for your body and for your immunity. best source is seafood, 2 or 3 servings per week: provides omega 3 - essential ( shellfish salmon. etc) (can also be found from chia and flaxseed but you need to eat more quantity)
-Kiwis are also Grand Slammers, and they're particularly great at protecting DNA, which can help slow cellular aging and reduce cancer risk. "A kiwi a day has actually been shown to reduce damage to DNA by about 60 percent," he says
    - One extra serving of seafood a week increases your lifespan by roughly 5 years.
    - yoghurt, Kim chi, sauerkraut are good for probioitics
    - processed meats (sausage, pepperoni etc) are carcinogens - do NOT have regularly.
-vitamin k2 is found in egg yolks and chicken thighs, which is not only heart-healthy but anti-angiogenic as well, meaning it helps slow the formation of blood vessels that promote tumor growth.
-brocolli - if you have a brocolli shake before you have your vaccine, it csn make the vaccine 20 times mkre powerful!
-Acromancia - this is a natural bacteria in the body. Not available as a supplement. Best way to grow this bacteria is to increase the mucus in gut. Key food for this is pomegranate and pomegranate juice. This helps you to grow back acromancia. Once you have this in your gut, your body can then respond to immunotherapy. Without this bacteria, your body wont respond. This was the result of the major study done when comparing the success of immunotherapy for ALL types of cancer. Those who have acromanica will respond to it and therefore the tumor will shrink. Those who don't have it, need to first eat foods to help their natural acromancia grow (like pomegranate).
    - variety of whole foods nuts legumes veg will help with body defenses
I must say I'm very surprised intermittent fasting was not mentioned as a way to trigger immunity and fight cancer.
Has anyone read his book and can share some of the 200 keyfoods in his book?

We need to turn into nutrition as medicine in times when drugs are getting too dangerous or too synthetic for our bodies to process them. Prevention is best….I love this doctor’ s definition of health and disease. These days we don’t have doctors as most are robots of a system narrative based on prescription drugs. We need doctors with a functioning and Independent mind to lead us into healing and most important into prevention. We need more like him…

Yes true. Our health depends on going back to basics. Eating a basic food grown in a clean soil, free of artificial chemicals. Having heritage breed hens, eating grass, clean wheat & bugs. Utilising their aged poop in soil. Clean water. An active life in the garden under the sun. Grow your own fruit trees, grapes are great. Orange trees, lemon, apricots. ( Apricot seeds are a great anti cancer treatment 5-7 per day. For those fighting cancer already. These can be toxic seek medical advice on this treatment )
Salt pickled cabbage, sauerkraut. All very good for us. Steer clear of white bread. No margarine, steer clear of sugar. Have only wild caught salmon. Avoid all additives & artificial colourings.
      Safe sun exposure.
All these things are very important.

The organic foods had higher amounts of carcinogens. Not to say they are harmful it is just the way plants protect themselves.

I did ground beef, steaks and red meat cuts, eggs, cheeses, yogurt, real butter and pork rinds for a snack. It truly does depend on the person. As Indigenous person from upper North America, it's difficult to believe our old people were plant based, particularly from November to about April or May during the winters hit and all vegetation is dormant.
Indeed, they ate meats. Berries, some vegetables, maple syrup and honey in late summer and fall. Otherwise, it was elk, dear, bear, squirrel, and other critters, fish and birds.

Until the very recent (on a human history scale) invention of agriculture, mankind had a primarily meat-based diet. Meat, fish, eggs. Uncultivated fruits, nuts and vegetables were highly seasonal, and most were much lower in sugars and carbohydrates. Eating plants seasonally was a useful survival mechanism for ancient humans in lean times, but agricultural produce is not a natural part of the diet. In Northern Europe, there is a similar lack of edible plants throughout winter.
Whole careers have been made by creating complex processes to make plants palatable. Pretty much any meat can be simply roasted or stewed for a delicious meal, and made even tastier by adding a little salt.

    • @AussieChic968
      @AussieChic968 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

There is value in natural remedies but I would never entrust my health to a naturopath or similar type of natural medicine quackery. I would only accept natural remedies that have passed the science test.ost haven't. The problem with these remedies is that some do work. Too well. But nothing has been properly quantified by proper science. So you cannot accurately gauge the strength of the natural medicine or how much is needed for your medical problem. So, you could easily end up overdosing and even dying as be a result. Or else you under dose or take the wrong herbs etc for your incorrectly diagnosed issue. This could either make it to worse or have no effect at all. In other words, you spend a fortune on herbs etc to make "expensive urine". Also, as the herbs industry is so unregulated, what you are being sold as a herbal ready could be anything... As a university student, a very enterprising Arts student needing money came up with a brilliant idea. Collect lawn mower clippings, bake these into little cookies and sell them as "Hash Cookies" on a "try before buy" sales pitch and, of course, everybody wanted a free hash cookie to get high on. So they all had one and waxed lyrical about how it was "top shit" and bought more...The Arts student was laughing all the way to the bank, joking about now being able to afford a pub meal, music lessons, new clothes etc. I knew what was in those "grass cookies" and neither he nor I ate these cookies. We just had normal ones...He wanted to know if I'd be his business partner and help make more, sell more on "party plan", multilevel marketing basis. I explained I was not into deceiving people, even if I did need a dollar... "No deceit involved. What the see and are told is what they get. Grass cookies...Nothing dishonest about it..." But I looked at all these dumb suckers falling for this con job and thought how stupid these middle class well raised private school types were....But I didn't want to be the one who tricked them. As they went around boasting about how they managed to score some of these "great cookies". If you grow up street wise in areas full of drugs and crime, you learn how to become a smart cookie yourself and not fall for such scams as "grass cookies", like these gullible middle class private schools educated uni students did. And, of course, these get targeted because they have heaps of money and the same ou t of gullibility and stupidity because they are not streetwise. But they are the types who end up running the nation. God help us with the current crop being groomed for such top jobs!

    IMO. Cancer is Hyphal Fungus.
    (fed by dietary starch)
➡️ Fast (water only) for a minimum of 40 days ...yes you can do it !
Start with 3 or 4 short fasts - get through the detox symptoms - ie nausea, headache etc
The body will eventually exhaust was the supply of “sugar” and the fungus:/cancer will die of starvation.
The example I followed was a “four days to live” diagnosis to a 68 day water fast plus hot & cold baths to promote the circulation.
    They “cancer” was gone.

My healthy habit is being a Vegan, making a Vegan plant-based green drink every day. 1 scoop of Sprouts Vegan plant-based protein powder, 1 scoop of Sun Warrior plant-based collagen powder, 1 TB each of organic Spirulina & Chlorella powder, 1 dropper of Kelp based Iodine, 2 droppers of D3K2 MCT Amino's, 1 frozen banana, a little squirt of berry flavoring, 2 heaping TB of Flaxmeal, 2 C of water, 1 C of Oatmilk. It's delicious and highly nutritious.
I take a couple droppers of mixed organic mushroom superfood - with Reishi, Cordyceps, and others.
I take Zinc Picolinate, Magnesium with a trace of Copper & capsules of Cod Liver Oil, E, & Krill.
There are about 500 calories, so I eat a vegan dinner later. I really wouldn't have to eat anything else for the day, but I need the caloric intake and I like to cook & eat! ;-)
I also ride my exercise bike in my office and my Bosch E-bike around town.
*note: I just turned 70 in August 2021, but most people think I'm in my late 40's.

Always. Food is medicine, it was here before we came, Nature's medicine. You don't find tins, packets growing on trees, plants or up from the ground. Keep it fresh, unprocessed as much as possible. 🍓🍒🍎🍉🍑🍏🍐🥝🍇🍠🌽🥦🥒🥬🍌🍍🥭🍊=Good. 🥨🍟🍕🌮🥩🍗🍖🍔🥐🍞🥜🥞🥫🍲🍛=Bad. Common sense, follow 80/20 rule. Eighty percent or more healthy food all of the time, twenty per cent or less, treats, some of the time.

Make sure you eat lots of good fats, olive oil, coconut oil the 2 best, butter in small amounts rather than low fat spread. We need fat, our brains are more than 60% fat, fat carries and stores vitamins, always eat protein with every meal, lowers the overall glycemic/sugar index or load in the body. Eggs & Soya beans are complete proteins. Nuts, seeds, beans are great quality proteins. Eat less meat. If it comes from a tree, plant, grows above or below the ground it is very good for you.

This is invaluable information that no doctor (GP) would ever tell you, a) because they have zero clue about natural healing paths b) they are taught out-dated medical information and would just take you down the chemo route c) they have no interest or care for patients who want to try alternative therapies. Food has always been a natural healing source - we just need to avoid overly processed unhealthy foods in moderation, eat healthy things daily or as often as possible, take good supplements, stay active every day (even if just a long walk), try and be stress-free when possible, get good sleep and avoid chemicals in your body to stand a good chance of living a long, healthy life. I had a malignant tumor in my breast, which popped up twenty years ago. I dealt with it wholistically on my own for twelve years, until I knew it had to be taken out. I found a surgeon who used laser surgery, and I was home the same day. I continued then trying to take care of it myself with nutrition, coffee enemas and lots of supplements and green juices, but probably because of the biopsy undeceived prior to the surgery, it came back locally after two years. Inham it removed again by the same surgeon and then started to see an integrative medical MD, who helped me a lot. However, again it reappeared locally. My surgeon removed it again but then I needed radiation, as it obviously was pretty stubborn. No metastases through, which I believe has been due to my overall healthy life style. My Vit D level is up to par, as well as many other aspects.

Unfortunately you are right. I feel the same like I can't trust doctors anymore.
I was diagnosed with stage 1 bowel cancer 1 year ago. The doctor said he could easily cure me with just a surgery. One week later he changed his mind and insisted with me to do 3 months chemo first. I said to him I had budgets for surgery only but not for chemo. Then he agreed to do just the surgery. But I didn't trust him anymore.
One year later stage 2 border 3 I went through NHS the doctor said I had to have a light oral chemo and radiotherapy and that would melt out the tumor without surgery.
I asked him to do the surgery only as it hasn't spread. He said the doctors used to do that a while ago but not anymore.
Theres a protocol the doctors must follow. No matter the stage of cancer, they must push the patients to chemo even if they don't need it.

My take on this video is that we must incorporate a variety of all natural foods, vegetables and fruits on our diet. Stay away from processed foods. I just hate it that elite private organizations put a lot of chemicals on our food.

Your guest may be interested to know, that Dr Sergio de Carvalho MD, PHD, F.R.S.M. (Cleveland Ohio) was already pioneering these ideas and methods back in the 1960s. He was the father of all this and light years ahead. It's a shame he doesn't get the recognition he deserves!

Great Show. I wish I were younger to study this seriously. Thank you both. Healthy Activities, Tom? At 75 I either go to the gym for the treadmill and some machine work about 2x/ wk and use my Pilates chair at home 2x/wk. The other days allow my little old bod to recuperate. If I haven't recovered, I postpone the exercise. Now, I'm learning to play chess to exercise the brain. Lol This is along with Keto for 8 months and intermittant fasting. Getting my blood work back to normal by losing weight. Thx for your help.

Ad Dr. David Sinclair to your list of super informed people. I’m much older than you and following his findings has cut years off my epigenetic age. I feel like I’m 40!
