I would take a look under the hoooood. I did the exact same thing years later my valve from my non upgraded heads has smoked my cam. And started dropping oil pressure becsuse the valve was toast as well. Best to upgrade the heads but make sure the internals are upgraded.
Car had katech ported and reworked heads with a competition 5 angle valve job as well as bronze guides to mitigate the valve drop issue. That car was bulletproof, sold it a long time ago
Red interior would be the way to go but buyin these used its hard to get what u want what do you use for cleaning products polish waxes thank you black is very hard to keep swirl free
@@matthewdurzo5948 thats solid! i've got full exhaust with long tube headers and ive got 515 wheel. im taking apart my heads to send out.. but im still deciding who to send to for cnc port and set up for mild cam.
@@Gilltrades824 I'd recommend sending to WCCH in California, go stage 2 for porting, solid exhaust valves, and bronze guides. I think this is your best bet. I'm making ~600rwhp right now with a mild custom grind comp cam 231/239 112 LSA. MSD intake, 102mm TB, full exhaust, on HP Tuners in AZ. True dyno tune in a few weeks, gonna shoot for 620.
Driveability is subjective. Some people have radical cams and say they drive like stock.. others cant tolerate. Personally I like the BTR 2 way better which is what I put in the car afterwards. I've since sold the car for a ZR1
@@matthewdurzo5948 Thanks for the heads up. Thats what I thought about the btr4 cam. I would think 4.11 gears and a good tune might make it a better slow speed driver. I'm sure its fun when your pushing it but 95% of the time you have to drive it normally and it would not be fun for the wife to drive it around I would suspect.
@@s2k442 a smaller cam with a better powerband down low is alot more fun than a big cam making power at high rpms... if u street drive ur car the majority of the time
