I was walking about 10-15 miles at a time (once a week) and 3 miles a day, but something happened during that time with my lower back and it hasn't been the same since. Hard to walk 1-2 miles since then, it's almost mentally scary to try and go back to the exercise that seemed to cause this all to happen! Lol. You are totally right about not having normal biomechanics, certain swinging motions can cause pain and they accidentally get avoided now. I don't like to swing my hips too much. I can tell by my pace that I'm not walking correctly anymore lol. I have a basketball hoop in my house and I won't dare try to do turnoaround jumpers, heck I couldn't jump without pain for about 6 months. If I can't jump, I can't run.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Give yourself more time but keep working on returning back to normal functional movements again :)
