Device screen doesn't necessarily set how comfortable it's to use. My last change was from 5,5 to 6 and the 6 inches one is more comfortable. Mostly thanks to screen-to-body ratio, how the body is designed, curved etc. You need to take a lot more into consideration than a screen size.
I don't understand people who want a phone smaller then the iPhones small 5.8 models. I can understand people who have small hands and I guess some people just really like small phones. I'd say 5.5-6.7 should be the min and max for phone size. :-)

Seems to me that with the coming " Z" they are going back to their roots. One thing that annoys me about OP users is that with each of the phones' iterations, there were complaints that its got "no wireless charging or effective waterproofing .." So One Plus adds these features...and the price goes up. Now the complaints are " It's gone up in price" What did they expect ? So I'm hoping the Z goes back to one plus basics. A stripped down phone that does what it does really well, - but at a great price.
issue with them "going back to their roots" is that they arent actually going back to their roots to make flagship killers, because they wouldnt want to kill their own business. for example, the oneplus nord does not have a flagship chip like an old oneplus would've, even though it is at a cheaper price point like before

Very vibrant colorful pictures, like you cannot complain if you want to be insta star here.. But the battery is very small, too small. And not no mention old flagships have crazy good value right now too. Even the Oneplus 7 Pro is a great alternative and it has dropped in price significantly.
Flag ship phones are flag ships because they are the best of the best no compromise options. Budget phoned get you 80% of the way there but that extra 20% of performance is always exponentially more expensive. It's like that in PC gaming with CPUs and GPUs to simple things like a toaster
@Central Intelligence Agency Dude, I have a crappy Redmi 5 plus with Snapdragon 625 and my brother has note 8 exynos variant. His phone lags in ui, youtube and games while mine is rock solid. He factory reset his phone and it became snappy for like two weeks before returning to be sluggish again.
@Central Intelligence Agency It's worse. If you're buying a flagship why would you settle for a worse cpu? This shouldn't even be an option. If this was a mid class phone sure, why not. But for a flagship? It's a joke.

1:20 the reason why One-plus gets this display is because it is a full subsidiary of OPPO. And OPPO by all means, is NOT a small company, it is not that much smaller than Samsung and these displays are custom-ordered panel from Samsung, it is not the BEST they have that is the one on Samsung flagships, but it is the best they offers to other manufacturers . In fact, the one on the OP8 is the same one on OPPO ACE2 and the one on OP8 Pro are the same panel on OPPO Find X2/pro, you can consider OP8 pro as a reskined version of Find X2/pro intended for Western Market at a higher price. the same trick employed by auto makers as Badge-Engineering.
He forgot to mention the OP8 Pro (and possibly OP8) display is 10bit, that's around a billion colors versus 16 million on other 8bit displays like the S20 or iPHONE 11. Also it's display is 444nits brighter this year as well, totaling 1444nits.
When a phone includes everything what a flagship phone should have, then it costs a lot of money. So it's not fair to expect the phone at a lower price just bcz it has been in the past. Expensive parts costs money 💰

That’s how all smartphone brands want to progress. Initially they make a budget phone with great specs to grab the people’s attention to their brand and that’s how they tell the market “hey we’re here to stay” and they keep growing their user base and number of fans until when they think they have enough support from the people and coverage from the media (OnePlus 6T), then they start turning themselves into a premium brand (OnePlus 7 Pro)

I'm glad to see such a long video from Dave, the content quality and also the way it's shot, coupled with the small clip length always leaves me wanting.
I believe the new display carries the price jump a lot. That a 6.78 inch, 120Hz, *10 Bit* display there. As a 10 Bit panels it can potentially show you up to 1.07 Billions of color combination. It's a huge upgrade from your regular 8 Bit panels featured on most of the other flagships, which can show you up to 16.7 Millions of colors only.

I think the software part is a matter of taste. I tried both oxygen OS and One UI 2.0 and I'll give a slight edge to Samsung because of the one hand usability. ONE UI is great for those big phones. I remember when the first oneplus one first was launched, I was so stoked and I think a lot of people that got one at the time was aswell and the reason for this is/was until todays date where I no longer see myself as a fan and user of opo was that when they came out with onplus one the concept of the phone was like a worldwide breakthrough people complained about phones feeling cheap, plastic not sturdy enough they all looked the same and was slippy to hold and lacked overall performance for what you paid for! so they made a phone premium and affordable enough yet competitive with the other premium brands " sandstone finish for grip and new look solid frame a drop resistant good symmetric display, dual speakers bright flashlight great battery life 3 microphones overall better performance ect.. you name it!! the Phone and brand at the time WAS Unique.. and that's why I loved the brand back then ( never settle ) they made something completely different if not better for a good price! then, hard to say right of my head there was the onplus X which was a bit of a rushed thing I think complete disaster my opinion and many others I think too but irrelevant if anyone remembers but part from that they made good phones and still affordable! then also hard to say the copy cating started like the lines on bottom and top think it was HTC or Samsung maybe iPhone who had it first, and then the glass back and after a while it got more and more , it's understandable because if you are gonna be in the market trying to compete with the top mainstream brands you got to bring something new to the table and also be mainstream . and I haven't really cared about that until today where I can't see the point of OnePlus brand anymore, it's no longer unique ( the gloss glass back the Samsung S10 line around the camera them lines missing headphone jack? that fingerprint ring that was on the back witch was a great idea?? and now for the first time the hole punch ) yes itsy premium and like Dave says to compete with the big brands you got to go premium with everything and it costs this I'm alright with but it's not what the idea of what onplus was based on so is not the design which really is the confusing part this looks exactly like a Samsung even there interstellar glow or what you wanna call it. but the brand who ones made premium unique affordable phones are now just like any other brand, this goes to everyone and I red something both interesting and funny can't remember where but it goes to all of the company's out there but mostly OnePlus, never settle right ? but when is enough enough? all this battling back and forth the copying, the latest of this upgraded ram upgraded that.. might it not be the time to stop rethink go back in time and make a phone that is of use! unique and affordable again yet up todays date. remember when you could buy a phone be for a whole year like yeah it's the newest and a year later if even it was a newer one ! not that it matters but today you buy a phone and a moth later it's outdated, so you think of hell I need to get a new one be cause that one had this and that.. bring back headphone jack have sd card storage does it really need to be waterproof? do we really need 3 cameras and 148 mp?? all these things because of media the mainstream things the pressure of companies between thinking this is what the consumer want? the battle.. no.. take away the hole punch it's not the way to go, reduce camera setup if I you want that go buy a DSLR make the backside replaceable and not a fingerprint magnetic so it's inexpensive to change if it breaks them thin bezels can be a bit thicker to so we actually get a frame and not just a display all the way around.. I know these things are to die for folks but In 10 years if this is what we have now and this is what it costs what will it be then? you still might work at your old job and your salary's still gonna be the same, so again when is enough enough cause to me this is enough! any phone on the market today is not really affordable like it use to be and they are all the same " same shit different name same price tag" make it affordable and unique listen to the people and reviews cause it's us consumer s who's to buy these phones and be your own brand not what everyone else are!

I was like that too but after I bought the OnePlus 7 Pro I just started loving the big screen 😅 so much better in many ways.
Damn, i just want 6.0
6 to 6.5 🙌 but not more than that..
"a small company like this"
You keep forgetting they're a subsidiary of BBK electronics, one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world.
subsidiary though.... but they're independent
@@utkarshrajatri They aren't independent. They respond in one way or another to their mother company. No company in this world is independent, if it's owned by a mother company. Yeah, you have the ability to have your say, but the bigger picture / the vision will most likely come from the mother company. Oneplus is basically OPPO phones, targetted towards west while oppo are targetted towards asian countries. It's BBK's way of reaching both spectrums of the market, something that they couldn't have done with Oppo.
@1ceb0xcfbl they can’t increases their sales using the branding BBK, they don’t have the whole budget of BBK, and they are also competing with their sister phones. So leaving the major decisions aside it’s really up to OnePlus to increase their market share which was super low just a few years back.

Seems to me that with the coming " Z" they are going back to their roots.
One thing that annoys me about OP users is that with each of the phones' iterations, there were complaints that its got "no wireless charging or effective waterproofing .."
So One Plus adds these features...and the price goes up. Now the complaints are " It's gone up in price"
What did they expect ?
So I'm hoping the Z goes back to one plus basics. A stripped down phone that does what it does really well, - but at a great price.
U got what uv've been waiting for sir
The Nord VPN
issue with them "going back to their roots" is that they arent actually going back to their roots to make flagship killers, because they wouldnt want to kill their own business. for example, the oneplus nord does not have a flagship chip like an old oneplus would've, even though it is at a cheaper price point like before
We've evolved to a point where reviewers don't even talk about the headphone jack
I own OnePlus 7 mclaren edition and it's pretty annoying to have to bring out the converter all the time I want to use ear phones.
I'm not a fan of Bluetooth earphones so this is a bummer.
If the headphone jack wasn't there in the last iteration of the phone, it won't be there in the current. No need to talk about it if it isn't new.
@@StayReal02 Hi,

That’s how all smartphone brands want to progress. Initially they make a budget phone with great specs to grab the people’s attention to their brand and that’s how they tell the market “hey we’re here to stay” and they keep growing their user base and number of fans until when they think they have enough support from the people and coverage from the media (OnePlus 6T), then they start turning themselves into a premium brand (OnePlus 7 Pro)

rip oneplus’ well known role as the “flagship killer”
I know these things are to die for folks but In 10 years if this is what we have now and this is what it costs what will it be then? you still might work at your old job and your salary's still gonna be the same, so again when is enough enough cause to me this is enough! any phone on the market today is not really affordable like it use to be and they are all the same " same shit different name same price tag"
make it affordable and unique
