@@frezieduh3457 It's just an unfortunate double whammy from the whole Qualcomm shoving 5G down your throat whether you want it or not. I've looked at the 8 Pro and I am actually compelled by it. Just that what we used to know OnePlus for is pretty much gone at this point. It's now pretty much a flagship, no matter how else you look at it. I don't think there's that many affordable phones with beefed up hardware at this point. Closest would probably be the upcoming Pixel 4A, though it likely won't be packing the very best processor (not that it matters since I've really felt that phones have been more than quick enough for a while now)

Just kinda confused. So the camera is actually kind of a downgrade compared to 7T due to lack of the telephoto camera and macro on 7T is actually better because of the higher resolution ultra wide/macro camera. Am I right? What is OnePlus thinking?
TH-camrs and other consumer asked for this. IP certification, Wireless charging to name a few. Resulting to its upgrade in PRICING!. Pass for this OnePlus until next year maybe or the T version.
I just got the S20 and if I would have based my decision on all of the reviews I never would have bought this phone. I have the Note 10 pls compared to the note 10 plus the S20 is superior in everyway and I am loving this phone. Its ridiculously fast,smooth and the cameras are awesome
I know it's expensive but the 9 and 9 pro will definitely be cheaper, it's just that they had to go all in because the 865 comes with 5g so they didn't want to use a worse processor

I have wanted a OnePlus for years, switched from AT&T, for coverage reasons, and snatched it up. LOVE IT. I got it half off ($350), it has IP68, I rarely use my camera, and I'm LOVING 90Hz. Oh and that charger? Ridiculous in a good way.

Great, honest review. It's strange how OnePlus managed to downgrade the phone in several ways compared to the 7T, while expecting people to spend $200 more for it.
I bought the 7T a few months ago for $500 and am very happy with it. There were a couple of Samsungs I was very interested in, but at double the price or more I just couldn't see the value... at least not for my needs.

Last year I bought the OnePlus 7 Pro, and with each new release, I'm even more convinced I bought the best Android phone on the market. Considering I have the 12GB RAM option, I hardly see any of the improvements of the standard 7, 7T, 8 or 8 Pro as much of a reason to upgrade. In fact, many of the newer models are downgrades in my opinion. When it comes to "better specs" it's really splitting hairs, and the design since the 7 Pro has *never* been improved. I love my bezelless, curved 90hz display. There's no screen notch or camera hole. I've never been happier with a purchase, so I would advise anyone looking to get a OnePlus device to get the 7 Pro. it's probably a lot cheaper now and still one of, if not THE, best OnePlus handset out there.
My oneplus 7 pro has been sitting back in its box since I purchased the Samsung s10 lite.... absolutely amazing value with snapdragon 855 x 8gb ram ... camera is superb & battery at 4500 mah is insane!

Don't worry about the lack of a telephoto lens. Most phones use the main sensor at a 2-3x zoom anyways, and very rarely use the telephoto lens.

I love my bezelless, curved 90hz display. There's no screen notch or camera hole. I've never been happier with a purchase, so I would advise anyone looking to get a OnePlus device to get the 7 Pro. it's probably a lot cheaper now and still one of, if not THE, best OnePlus handset out there.

My oneplus 7 pro has been sitting back in its box since I purchased the Samsung s10 lite.... absolutely amazing value with snapdragon 855 x 8gb ram ... camera is superb & battery at 4500 mah is insane!
