Hey Buddy, Thanks for being straight up with the people!! There really needs to be alot more shops like yours who can provide no frills single stage overall painting for a decent fair cost. Everybody dont need or want a $6000 paint job when they just want a refreshed look to last a few years. Even the Maaco around me will NOT do any overall paintjobs for less than $2500 . Im thankin you my man!

My boss is about 70 years old and pretty well off so he's basically just keeping the business going because his father built the place in 1956 and he's been working here since he was in middle school so he said he's gonna die here and wants to be buried out in back of the shop. True story! So he doesn't charge a whole lot but he pays better than many big franchise/dealerships. So it's home for me. I'm glad you can appreciate the shop and vids. Thank you GeneralJoe 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Ive done a few older cars with single stage,let it dry real good and block it down with 600-800 then 2 coats of clear.They allways looked amazing,great work man!!

That gun has a nice fan, and that el'cheapo looks good! We shoot SW single stage at work. Never see them years later, but they look good when they leave the shop. Sometimes, we hit them with Sherwin Williams high solids clear as the last coat for special customers. 😅

I hate it when people say single stage lasts longer than base clear. Its NOT TRUE.....it is harder to touch up, your buffing off color. Oxidizes. Good clear always last longer than good single stage. and when you mess up you can touch up without blending color. Better to blend the color and cover it with clear so when you buff it you dont cut through your blends.
Nice job, I'm from Cape Town South Africa most back yard guys use single stage here I even use it on furniture. 1500 and 2000 hand wet sand then buff and polish on black she would look like a shinny piano. Keep up the good work

man! Single stage is always tricky for me and you made that look easy brother! When I get as good as you I will be satisfied! LPH 400 looks to throw a nice fan. Worth the money? or is the black widow as good?
Black Widow and LPH400 are nowhere near the same ballpark, The LPH400 is one of my top three spray guns I love it so much I have a brand new and still in the box in case they ever discontinued This gun is the truth.
I did a dump truck with a single stage that looked great , shot 3 coats on it . I had an old truck with a summit racing blue single stage that lasted 6 years in Florida. I used a harbor freight purple paint gun that cost 9 dollars on sale. I like to shoot single stage with that harbor freight gun. I use my Eastwood for base and clear
Looks great I sprayed silkens single for years loved it but unfortunately we switch to spies Hecker water bourn took out the single stage that's what happens when you live in California now they have the low vocs base coat and the single stage is not very good to me at least we don't use it in only base coat clear coat
Oh man.. love me a good direct gloss lol. It's so fast. Sometimes I'll use it on insurance jobs and then as it flashes off smack a coat of clear over it. I often get a better color match on my solid colors with single stage. Also prefer something like 5500 hvlp over the rp. Lays flatter in my opinion. Oi we need need to see this El Cheapo. Haha. That car looks damn good... probs too good for him.
NO REDUCER IN THE CLEAR.....Amen to that. you dont know how many painters waste good clear with reducer. I watched a guy put 30% reducer to show how to get no orange peel in clear. OMG....6 months for that paint job Max....But if you use it straight out of the can or according to the directions on the can if it says 5%.....it would last for 10 years. Just floors me the stuff that is out there on the tube...
Trigger can you do a video on how Body filler sucks in after 6 month.there are NO videos on that issue. like you have a repaired door or whatever and it looks straight after blocking the Filler/ primer and then painted.. 6 month down the road its wavy and looks horrible...from the Bondo sucking in.
For me to do a video on that the car would have to come back with complaints of the body filler sucking in. That's nothing I see. Maybe many years back and talking over 20 years ago when the body fillers were cheap and the primers were cheap I saw more of that but these days body fillers are top-notch and primers are incredibly durable they have 2K primers epoxy primers I think what you are talking about is a thing of the past or if people are using cheap materials.
It is ful-thane I know it lasts I just have to say that for the paint divas in mini skirts. They are sensitive if it's not premium $500 per quart of base. 😲😂

They are all on TH-cam studio. I don't play around with those outside beats Just in case they try to hit you for copyright issues everything and TH-cam studio is 100% approved by TH-cam so I play it safe My luck one of these other channels will hear it and report it like they have done with other things. So I have to walk a straight line

It has all three hardeners, I used medium on this job. No Vevor on this one. That sucker would have gave me runs all over the place lol This single stage runs easy
worst thing about single stage used to be fisheyes.. fisheyes usually dont buff out. the air must be filtered with expensive filtration beads which will break the bank. not such a problem with two stage..
Well we have a 30-year-old compressor that's rusted out and it filtration system that is even older You can look on my one year anniversary video I show how old the compressor is with rust and grease and oil all over it. And as you saw this paint job come out pretty much flawless live on camera. So many different things play into those fish eyes I painted in shops where there was a detail shop a block away and cause fish eyes.
Nissan 350. It would be a shame if it was a TT but that model doesn't exist anymore. Black is the hardest color to paint as far as bodywork seeing flaws. Body guy did a great job and the paint is flat and glossy. You can't ask for anything better. The way people drive down here, it will get crashed before the paint goes bad

Clemens, my sister works in purchasing, her Husband works in the color lab, my Mom is the on site RN and have cousins etc working there. Dupont is now Nason, they actually make good shit.
Cool where abouts in Florida? I thought Nason was always DuPont lol first time spraying Nason was in 1998 and we bought it from a DuPont store so I never really questioned it. It's good stuff but some of these paint divas will disagree so I have to keep saying "it's not the best" or their G string will get wet. 🙄

you take a change of the clear wrinkling the singe stage when you do that. letting it dry real good does help. with cheap paint its a bad idea.

Can you put a clear coat 10-15 minutes after the last coat of single stage?
@@israel9294 I personally would not recommend it. Although I have seen it done usually they wait almost an hour before clearing.
I should have Holla’d atcha, we are at Disney world for the week… but back to the paint job, that’s a killer looking Single Stage.

Use to have a pla e in Indiana called Earl Shibe.. paint your car for 99.99.. people would flip out when i would give them a price of 1k to start and that is without any bodywork back in the 80s..

I got 08 328i hard top convertible so much masking, i wouldn't even know how rubber seals on roof get masked. Even for body prep work. I wanna see my car in the Lab on TH-cam Trigger I can afford $1000 tip what the old man charge me? For something that's gonna last in FL Sun
man! Single stage is always tricky for me and you made that look easy brother! When I get as good as you I will be satisfied! LPH 400 looks to throw a nice fan. Worth the money? or is the black widow as good?
Black Widow and LPH400 are nowhere near the same ballpark, The LPH400 is one of my top three spray guns I love it so much I have a brand new and still in the box in case they ever discontinued This gun is the truth.
I did a dump truck with a single stage that looked great , shot 3 coats on it . I had an old truck with a summit racing blue single stage that lasted 6 years in Florida. I used a harbor freight purple paint gun that cost 9 dollars on sale. I like to shoot single stage with that harbor freight gun. I use my Eastwood for base and clear
6 years holy moly 😱 now that's some good life out of a single stage. Awesome 💪🏼
Looks great I sprayed silkens single for years loved it but unfortunately we switch to spies Hecker water bourn took out the single stage that's what happens when you live in California now they have the low vocs base coat and the single stage is not very good to me at least we don't use it in only base coat clear coat

Oh man.. love me a good direct gloss lol. It's so fast. Sometimes I'll use it on insurance jobs and then as it flashes off smack a coat of clear over it. I often get a better color match on my solid colors with single stage. Also prefer something like 5500 hvlp over the rp. Lays flatter in my opinion. Oi we need need to see this El Cheapo. Haha. That car looks damn good... probs too good for him.

NO REDUCER IN THE CLEAR.....Amen to that. you dont know how many painters waste good clear with reducer. I watched a guy put 30% reducer to show how to get no orange peel in clear. OMG....6 months for that paint job Max....But if you use it straight out of the can or according to the directions on the can if it says 5%.....it would last for 10 years. Just floors me the stuff that is out there on the tube...
Yea I've seen a few that say to put clear for flat finish. 🤦♂️ Reducing the solids that the clear was designed to have 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Trigger can you do a video on how Body filler sucks in after 6 month.there are NO videos on that issue. like you have a repaired door or whatever and it looks straight after blocking the Filler/ primer and then painted.. 6 month down the road its wavy and looks horrible...from the Bondo sucking in.
For me to do a video on that the car would have to come back with complaints of the body filler sucking in. That's nothing I see. Maybe many years back and talking over 20 years ago when the body fillers were cheap and the primers were cheap I saw more of that but these days body fillers are top-notch and primers are incredibly durable they have 2K primers epoxy primers I think what you are talking about is a thing of the past or if people are using cheap materials.
If that’s Nason ful-thane it will last longer than you think. It’s actually quality paint. It’s thick so it will solvent pop fast.
It is ful-thane I know it lasts I just have to say that for the paint divas in mini skirts. They are sensitive if it's not premium $500 per quart of base. 😲😂

I don't play around with those outside beats Just in case they try to hit you for copyright issues everything and TH-cam studio is 100% approved by TH-cam so I play it safe My luck one of these other channels will hear it and report it like they have done with other things. So I have to walk a straight line

It has all three hardeners, I used medium on this job. No Vevor on this one. That sucker would have gave me runs all over the place lol This single stage runs easy

worst thing about single stage used to be fisheyes.. fisheyes usually dont buff out. the air must be filtered with expensive filtration beads which will break the bank. not such a problem with two stage..
Well we have a 30-year-old compressor that's rusted out and it filtration system that is even older You can look on my one year anniversary video I show how old the compressor is with rust and grease and oil all over it. And as you saw this paint job come out pretty much flawless live on camera. So many different things play into those fish eyes I painted in shops where there was a detail shop a block away and cause fish eyes.

Nissan 350. It would be a shame if it was a TT but that model doesn't exist anymore. Black is the hardest color to paint as far as bodywork seeing flaws. Body guy did a great job and the paint is flat and glossy. You can't ask for anything better.
The way people drive down here, it will get crashed before the paint goes bad

I use the highest psi I can on single stage that still lays out good the higher the psi the less orange peel.

By the way Triggerman, I live in Florida but was raised in Detroit. My family worked for DuPont Automotive in Mt. Clemens, my sister works in purchasing, her Husband works in the color lab, my Mom is the on site RN and have cousins etc working there. Dupont is now Nason, they actually make good shit.
Cool where abouts in Florida? I thought Nason was always DuPont lol first time spraying Nason was in 1998 and we bought it from a DuPont store so I never really questioned it. It's good stuff but some of these paint divas will disagree so I have to keep saying "it's not the best" or their G string will get wet. 🙄
I live on the Gulf south of Sarasta, Dupont had bought the plant from Ford Motor Co, then Dupont sold to Nason (Blackrock, yeah those MFers)
