    I teach 3D design to high school students, and these gadgets made me think about redesign for accessibility. Not everyone has manual dexterity or mobility to cut a bagel or separate eggs. Even though the products seem a bit gimmicky they could be helpful. The format of the video is great and I love the redesign idea on butcher paper on the fly.

    • @theneoangeles
      @theneoangeles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Even if it's not always the case, designers are often searching for esthetic, then they think about the uses, but they forget to think about disabled people and CLEANING, i work as pastry chef in France and it's hard to find professional tools that are easy to clean while it would be easily doable whith just some improvement, i had a chocolate temper machine and it was a real hell to clean, it takes few hours just because of all the 90° angle corners😒.

Something he neglects to mention is that the knife slides through easily with fresh bagels, but with slightly older bagels that are a lot harder (Once I get them cut I can spray them with a water bottle and put them in the toaster and they're just like new) they are also harder to cut so more danger of cutting yourself.

    Although it is a pretty useless gadget you might aswell just take out a knife and cut it every time.

      It's useful for diners and restaurants and the likes where you maybe have a breakfast buffet. You wanna portion the butter ahead of time because you don't want one table to hog all of the butter for themselves or guests to mangle the butter with a knife and make a mess.
      Granted, you can also buy butter in small pre-portioned packages, but slicing butter like this saves waste.

    • @darthplagueis13
      @darthplagueis13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    • @ouzoloves
      @ouzoloves 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Yes but when you are camping, will you have a flat surface to lock the device to? Also, knowing how much effort it takes, would you just decide to not have juices/smoothies whilst camping or perhaps just buy them pre made. Lastly, this is a clear case where the expensive electric version is worth way more than x5 the manual version, so is much better value for money.

      Definitely not backpacking, but would work fine for casual camping at the type of park where you park near your tent or any other travel situations where you don't have access to a juicer. Not all places have that type of pre-made juice, especially if you make unique blends.
      Many of the reviews on Amazon for the juicer actually mention preferring it to more expensive electric juicers because of the ease in cleaning it. Very few parts and easy to disassemble.

    The Never Soggy Cereal Bowl is a Life-Changing solution for those of us who need to carry around our cereal and multi-task while attempting to eat breakfast: sort out the kids, finish getting dressed, sort out the kids, check work email, sort out the kids, feed the dog, login to the Morning Team Zoom meeting, sort out the kids, etc. When we finally have a moment to resurface, our bowl of cereal is now WAY past soggy. (Although it is the perfect consistency for a paper mâché craft project, handy for sorting out the kids later). Whereas, with the Never Soggy Cereal Bowl, we could just take a breath, sit back, and spend 90 whole seconds of relative peace and quiet, finishing our nice crispy breakfast. Priceless.

    For the banana slices, two things:
    1) Fry them in butter over low heat. The salt from the butter is the perfect amount to season the bananas, and the way frying them turns them into cloud-like pillows encased in a delicate caramel shell is just the chef's kiss.
    2) Put the fried bananas in the milk. Oddly enough, the mix of butter and fried banana flavors the milk in a way that is sublime.

    The fact that Dan did a perfectly placed joke about the butter stick and the video editors didn’t get it makes me mad and happy at the same time

    The fact that Dan made a Rick and Morty reference makes him all the more awesome. Honestly love watching this man, he gives me sarcastic dad vibes ✨✨

    Only thing I would redesign on that bowl is making the cereal side deeper but that's cuz I like to eat alot of cereal

    "Your purpose in life is to pass the butter"- Rick Sanchez 👏👏👏 Love a casual Rick and Morty reference.

    The bagel cutter works pretty well for hotel breakfast type places.

    I love bagel guillotines! Never bought one for myself, bc I never buy bagels often enough to justify but I used to go to this organization that served bagels often and I could never cut it myself as well as the cutter

    Long time user of the bagel 🥯 guillotine and I stand by that product. It’s awesome for a one purpose product

    I've had one of those bagel guillotined for about 20 years. I've sliced my hand pretty good when cutting bagels in the past and use this one all the time. The bagels here in CO certainly aren't as big as they were back in NY.

    I have that bagel slicer, and honestly it’s one of the most useful tools I’ve ever had.

    I love this series, it makes me think about design, I find myself looking at gadgets more critically when I go shopping
